Not excusing what Channel 3 have done, although I'm not sure if it's exactly racism, but colorism? I think that's…
I agree. I do think those dress ups are likely done more out of ignorance than intended harm, since the history isn't understood as well internationally. But I think it's sad that this often gets overlooked when Asian people/culture were often caricaturized in western media/markets almost as much as black people. There seems to be more awareness growing about these issues, so there's progress at least.
As for the colorism, I do think there's a really dangerous trend with it in places like Thailand, Philippines, China, and Korea from what I've seen. This is one of the reasons I give extra support to actors like Earth, Singto, Jennie, Tay, James, etc, who choose not do this to their bodies but have to face struggles in their careers, such as landing prominent roles, because of it.
Not excusing what Channel 3 have done, although I'm not sure if it's exactly racism, but colorism? I think that's…
Whatever article they posted is definitely showing racism. The comedian is perpetrating blackface, which is a known offensive caricature of black people in the US. It would only be considered colorism if she simply darkened her skin with makeup, but she's doing the full stereotype of black people that leaves no room for question: Hip hop clothes, afro, red lips, bling rings, and gold chain... along with the ashy black skin. It's a mess and would get her shamed out of any building where I live for being so distasteful.
Edit: For the record, I don't think there should be any stance taken against the show or the YT channel that the show is being aired on. Boyyent is a new studio that's promoting the series on a separate YT channel. There is no reason to assume whatever people responsible for what happened in those incidents at Channel 3 are related to this project, or will have any influence on it. No international fan is going to watch on the Ch3 TV station anyway since there won't be subs there.
Lukchin's bubble butt deserves to own a twitter account, haha, but darn Namning is really on a different level…
Yesss! The only thing keeping me watching at this point is the cake Lukchin and his friend keep serving us. Namning's a$$ should've been in jail three episodes ago.
I thought it was a satisfying ending in spite of the unfortunate circumstances.
I will say that I didn't feel the death of Touch was a slight against gay folks after finally reaching the conclusion of the story. This simply wasn't his story to begin with. It was Time and Treenut's. Anyone going into this series should consider that first before continuing.
Touch plays more of a support role in this, but his relationship with his brother and Nuch was really beautiful though, and was treated with a lot of care. The final episode really placed him high on a pedestal and undid alot of the nasty business he was subjected to in Ep11, which I was very happy to see.
I will say this was probably one of the better handled deaths of a gay character that I've seen, even though I feel there should've been a better ending for him.
I don't think this was mentioned by anyone else, but I thought Arjun was a really great villain in this. Sometimes funny, sometimes scary, most times psychotic. I really think Parn did great work with the character here. I've probably never hated a character more and felt so satisfied with their fate, but at the same time could laugh at some of the dark humor in his antics.
But I think the whole cast was great in this, especially Tre, who I consider the star of the show. He brought the action, the romance, and drama at the highest level. He had great chemistry with all of the cast and really brought the world here to life. Fern was also great here as Treenut, and managed to keep her character very sympathetic and spunky throughout the series despite many situations that could be vilifying for her.
I thought the writers covered some very sensitive issues, and handled most of them quite well. There are still some missteps when it comes to the handling of gay characters and the sensitive subjects that surround them, but thankfully it didn't impact my watch enough to not finish it. This will not be the case for everyone though.
Overall, I'll give it a solid 8/10. I didn't find myself skipping any scenes and was totally invested in the story. The score would be higher for obvious reasons.
Ep 14 was absolutely delicious!Starting off with a dead Marisa being found in a river and us getting a satisfying…
I agree completely. I can only assume it was difficult for her to escape earlier because of how abusive the relationship got after her father fell ill and lost everything. With the way things were playing out when she finally did file for the divorce, it was pretty clear getting it approved was almost next to impossible for her. Sarut really was instrumental to her freedom in that regard, but it's such a cautionary tell about bad marriages.
It's good she found another way out of that mess though, with the fortune she started out with having, a new man, and a child to start a new family of her own with.
I'm so glad Arjun is getting his just deserts! I've battled through with deciding to continue the rest of this series for this sole purpose alone.

As for Shane, he got his in Ep 13 after he turned out to be Touch's killer. Which I thought was a much better fate for Touch than the alternative suicide, since it showed Touch actually fought for his life and wanted to live despite his situation.
Not only that but also because it was revealed that he was finally done with Shane's BS, who was totally selfish. This is what resulted in Shane's outburst, because he knew he'd lost his toxic hold over Touch.
Shane ended up dropping his keycard to his hotel at the cabin during their struggle, which was the clue Time needed to figure out he was responsible. They also found out he deleted his number from Touch's phone.
After he tried hiding away at the manager lady(Pok)'s house, she finds out about all his lies and tries to report it to the cops(in a Karen way I might add). Shane turns psycho and tries to kill her with a golf club, but Time walks in at just the right time to stop him.
He ends up fleeing on bare foot, but Time chases his a$$ down on a bike and trips him off his feet with the same club he was going to use against the manager. And then proceeds to kick his a$$ senseless until the cops get him off. It's reported later on the news that he'd been charged with Touch's murder and denied bail.
So yeah, Shane lost his acting gig, his fans, was betrayed by his manager, beaten senseless by Time, and put in prison. I thought it was a fitting end for such a toxic character!
Starting off with a dead Marisa being found in a river and us getting a satisfying flashback of her beating Arjun's a$$ again before finally dying herself. The way I cackled when they revealed the way Arjun just dumped her corpse over the bridge like that. 🤣 So long Marisa! You won't be missed!
Then we see all of Arjun's plans coming to a crash thanks to some crafty work by Time! It was incredibly satisfying to see the directors shooting down his move for the molasses deal and him getting into more trouble with the mob boss, and also him finding out Wadee cleaned out his piggy bank and ran off with his buddy before he could pay anything to fix it!
It was a nice reveal that Wadee wasn't actually a gold digger, and Arjun wasn't faithful from the beginning. She went in giving him a fortune to start his company, and he gambled it all away on poker and other women! Anyone still thinking ill of her actions toward him at this point should be feeling really silly right about now!
It was great to see Time and Treenut finally coming into their feelings. This was a long time coming. And mama Yada finally letting go of her anger toward her.
I'm excited to see how this wraps up in the last episode.
Yesss! Tre serves in this! Definitely one of the best Thai actors of his generation. The series is worth finishing…
Serves them right for being a bitter Betty! Fern is very cute and charming. I really liked her work in this and how she has a bit of sass too. Would love to see more of her in other roles. I will check her out in Hua Jai Sila. Thanks!
Here is my take on the problem, and it's only my personal view:Firstly, I think the mother tolerated Touch being…
I don't think it was his point, nor mine, to criticize the writing of the characters, but the behavior of the characters themselves. It's an investment in the story.
Yes, you are correct that it makes sense that Yada is behaving this way, as I addressed in my previous response, because she is a selfish character, but no, she is not being reasonable in the way she is directing her anger toward Treenut. Even by her own logic.
If she thinks Treenut is to blame for Touch's death, then she should be just as angry at Time for his involvement in the matter. But clearly she's not. The doctor said she is suffering from a mental break, so that is likely why her rational is not as good as it was before. I think we pretty much agree on most of these points, so I can now see where you were coming from in your previous responses.
Baby, this ain't The Shipper! Mix's character is trapped in his sister's body, not the other way around. And all…
Yesss! Im wit you on these shows always putting these raggedy a$$ gurls at the center of the drama, but I dont think the story works if it was Mix's brother since the mama dont want her son wit men in the first place. She dont get punished enough for what she did though, so you might not like how that goes...
but I thought it was a good watch overall. There's some funny moments with Mix getting PMS and them getting high on some fumes a aunt gave them at a temple. 🤣

Holland looked better in the finale at least...
Just looked up the show and the plot sounds delicious!
