I can't believe how well that all played out with Jerd and Jon. I was expecting way more meltdown, drama, and angst after that reveal, but I actually liked that their issues were resolved pretty reasonably. Jerd and Jon really do have a strong bond, and I love their relationship. I'm glad Jenna was called away so they could work this out as well
Coach Barb taking over as substitute head coach played out well too, and I really liked how dedicated Oatmeal was to securing a victory for Barb and the team. And chile... I died at him struggling to get that handmade bracelet on his wrist! The comedy is always on point. Like when Barb got caught crossing her legs when Yu's father was scolding Yu at their house.
Jenna shouldn't be too hard on herself though. Jerd just wasn't it and I think she really tried to adjust to what he was offering. I felt bad for him, but I think he knew they weren't really working as a couple. Jon has liked Jenna way longer, even if he held some resentment toward her for roasting him about that catfish. I liked that Barb didn't try to bring her down even though he had that look like he was finna read her for filth when she told him what happened too.
Ep 14 was simply the best in the series. The long build up to Yu, Ploeng, and even Barb's coming out was handled really well. Each role was crucial to Yu coming out and his father accepting his son, who probably had realistic reservations about his son coming out after seeing his trans sister struggle to live a fulfilling life. I'm familiar with all of these actors(Yu from Friend Forever, Ploeng from Oxygen, and Coach Barb from WhyRU) and I can honestly say they all stepped up their game in this.
This is definitely one of my favorite series of the year. It felt so empowering to see a show tackle so many critical social issues in an entertaining and educational fashion.
Chile what? That boy be faker than a $2 Rolex! He ain't sweet!
I like that he's straightforward, but he's such a rude petty b**ch! I get not being open to someone who's a potential rival, but that behavior was too nasty. Not to mention he was one of their clients too. How do you treat someone like that over some random dude you don't even know?
If I was pinkhair I'd a shredded that contract and threw the pieces at his face.
i came here to check if i was the only one annoyed beyond compare by Yiwaa, and thank god i see we're all on the…
I'm not buying any of the excuses people are making for her. What she did was totally self-serving and for her own interest. She's a nosy, entitled, vindictive person. The whole thing came off like she was upset that she couldn't be with Vee and was jealous. Even if she wanted to get Vee to realize his feelings(which was already so evident that he had), she has no right to force him out in the first place, or intentionally sabotage their relationship, or to keep setting up Nuea for disappointment when she knew Mark wasn't interested in him. Even as a friend that ish is none of her business, and anyone thinking that behavior is acceptable needs to check themselves.
I really wish screen writers and directors and producers would look up mental disorders, particularly the one…
At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Praew lied about the bipolar and is just faking it for sympathy and an excuse... but I ain't sure this show is smart enough to do that at this point.
It's definitely dragging and not going the way I hoped it would for the past two episodes. Candy is a whole mess with her two faced self! Praew must be desperate for friends since I can't see any other reason she'd be opened to telling her anything after being exposed and dragged so many times for her deceit. Boat should definitely look elsewhere for a partner.
I will keep watching to see how it goes, but at this point it's falling lower and lower on my priority list. The story beats you mentioned from the trailer has me intrigued at least though. I actually didn't watch any of the teasers so this is a welcome surprise... So you're telling me Tee is cheating with Ice? And it looks like Stud will be coming back to shake things up too!
The writing is bad and the editing is strange and choppy. And speaking of choppy, Fluke's terrible haircut is…
Chile.... I been saying the same thing about them apples! Whatever the hell he has there gotta be better ways than him hauling them big ass apples around and having to keep chomping down on one every time he's debilitated. Why hasn't he went to see a doctor for this? Make it make sense!
Our baby might just be a little slow... Couldn't even take a tv dinner out the microwave without burning his hands.
Not sure why so many folks hated this. I thought it was great 2 hour binge. The stalker subplot was actually pretty scary at some moments and the leads had good chemistry.
Agree glad they have given coach barb better storyline . Also it's 1st kiss that too sudden one for Jenna . I…
Yes, I think his role makes a pretty important statement for a number of reasons in this.
1. Barb is a more visibly queer teacher at the school despite the fact that he tries to keep it under the rug due to potential discrimination. His interaction with Yu shows how important a presence like his is needed at schools for youths who struggle with their sexuality and/or gender identity. It's because Coach Barb is more easily identifiable that students like Yu are able to come to him to seek proper guidance.
2. Non confirmative body types and skin tones. Barb's appearance is never degraded or ridiculed by anyone in the series. He struggles to keep a boyfriend, but they make it clear it isn't hard for him to pick up a date or for guys to find him attractive. In a society that actively promotes skin whitening products and often discriminates against darker skin tones and body types, this character is super important.
3. Barb has a relationship with a student that is similar to the lead's one. Its his own story but he is able to actively relate to Jenna's struggle. I think the Jenna and Barb characters are around the same age. Both stories could be considered very problematic, but it's clear neither are trying to take advantage of the situation. I have seen people in the comments attack Barb for fawning over the boys, while also giving Jenna a pass. This is simply not fair and feels like discrimination.
4. Barb is not a DUFF character(Designated, Ugly, Fat, Friend. for those who don't know the trope). He's funny but he's more than just a character for the audience to laugh at or an empty character for Jenna to unload her problems to. This is important since actors like James are often typecast in these types of roles. James plays the character with conviction, and I love the layers he's able to convey with Barb. This is perhaps his most important role yet.

The kiss(or peck) was cute. I wasn't expecting Jon to go to town on Jenna or anything like that, but it did look super awkward to me. Maybe that was supposed to be the effect they were going for, but it still lacked passion for me.
Jenna is a wild gurl and is looking for a partner who is very passionate. Both emotionally and physically. So I expected a kiss that would be viewed as something different than what Jerd would typically offer to her for example. Jon is supposed to be a stark contrast to Jerd for her. So in that context it didn't land for me.
Maybe the next one will be better executed for me.
The subs are ruining it for me. They're just a mess and isn't worth paying premium for on IQiyi. Will probly wait until a fansubber picks this up before I finish it at this point.
Jenna is a whole mess, but I like her. Poor Jerd can't hang with a girl that wild. I guess we all know why Belgium was quick to leave before.,.
James slays in this as Coach Barb though. I love how he's always dragging Jenna for her wild and selfish behavior, and has a little story of his own. It's been a great series so far.
Perth is a great actor too, but that kissing needs work, baby boy. I can't imagine Jenna's smartwatch response was much different than the one for Jerd's forehead kiss.... Let me stop!
I'm satisfied with the ending. I think people were too forgiving of Ji Woo's behavior in the first season(Probably because it was so short), and missed some of the red flags that were present. Now that we've had more time with the character, I saw no inconsistencies with the way he was portrayed here. For me, the last two episodes were the first time I wholly enjoyed them as a couple.
I was happy to finally see the growth that Ji Woo should've had by the end of the first season. But it wasn't until the last episodes that he finally swallowed his pride and surrendered himself to the relationship. Like SJ had done from the beginning. Ji Woo has simply never done that before. Back in S1 he told SJ he wanted him to leave. He has never tried to salvage their relationship because he has never felt worthy of it.
Up until that point SJ basically had to guess what was on his mind, but that can only take you so far, especially once a person gets accustomed to your personality. Ji Woo avoided all the issues in their relationship until it became too much for him to handle.
There's nothing else to it. That was the tea. He didn't think he was good enough for his star boyfriend, so he drove him away by any means necessary(ghosting, being nasty, mean, and ugly). This was the same mess he pulled in S1, except he never learned his lesson doing it.
Most people saw it as some grand gesture of love when there are pitfalls to that type of behavior too. A healthy relationship needs communication, effort, and respect(both for themselves and each other). SJ had that problem(self respect), so I was glad to see him finally put his foot down and grow too. I think they have what they need now moving forward because I never saw the relationship lasting in S1.
