They were shooting the documentary/fiction and re-enacting the past events. That's what I thought.
I just went back to watch it and that seems to be correct. Namo mentioned that they needed to do the film to prove that they weren't lying about it earlier in the episode to protect Akk. I don't know how I missed it before, but it's definitely there.
Im not sure what you are referring to? It’s very clearly the aftermath of the events in the previous parts.
I will probably have to go back and watch it again, but there didn't seem to be any resolution to the conflict that we ended on in part 3. We just jump straight ahead to them making a film without any reference to what just happened. It felt very jarring to me. The conversation Ayan had with Akk at the pool at the beginning of P4 seemed to suggest the events that followed was a flashback.
Yes. Half brothers. The father has three wives(or 2 wives and one mistress) but the first one wasn't able to conceive(Bua),…
Yesss, it's total ancient times Jerry Springer drama!
But I think the dynamic is really interesting so far:
- The father seems to have been forced by his parents to marry the other two wives, even though he seems to still truly love Bua(Wife#1/Mistress). So the other wives are jealous of her(or at least Wife #2/Jan is).
- Bua(who couldn't conceive) actually acts as the true mother figure toward Thian and Yang instead of their actual mothers. So they have their own dynamic that they share with her as a second mother.
- Thian and Yang ignore their mothers' attempts to pit them against each other and grew up sharing no beef and a close bond. Yang supports Thian and believes he's fit to take their father's position, and seems to know about his sexuality.
- Li and Jan are the two main opposing forces in the series. They truly despise each other and will do anything to get a leg up on the other. Jan is far more vicious though and has proven to kill. So you were spot on about Jan.
Yes. Half brothers. The father has three wives(or 2 wives and one mistress) but the first one wasn't able to conceive(Bua), so he married two other women(Jan and Li). Jan was the second wife, but conceived Yang later than Li(wife #3). So Li is the head wife and her son Thian is first in line for their father's position(and is Yang's half brother)... A whole mess...
I finally managed to watch the last episodes(I had to put it on pause for a few weeks) and agree with you. It…
Yesss! I've followed Ms Jenny since her role way back in Gay Ok Bangkok, which was another one of her serious roles. I definitely agree that she needs more serious roles like it and 3WBF. Hopefully there's some more good projects with her on the way. The cameos are just never enough.
I've seen Love, Victor and Young Royals! Both were FABULOUS! They are definitely the shows I had in mind when I talked about the progress being made in NA LGBTQ cinema. Elite has been on my to-watch-list for some time now, but I still haven't found the time to binge it. I'm upset Love, Victor struggled between networks and got canceled though. I was really hoping to see more from the Love, Simon series, since I also felt that movie was one of catalyst that jumpstarted the BL trend in NA. And Love, Victor felt like things only really just started before it came to an end. Loved the whole cast and story arcs. I will miss it.
Royals felt very fresh and groundbreaking to me. I'm really excited to see how s2 goes.
Chile that ending wasn't it! Pla and Toon gets no sympathy from me and deserved the karma Bew returned to them and more. Both were ratchet as hell and far beyond redemption. The only thing I did like was Bew recognizing what that industry was doing to his soul and left to preserve his sanity. Pla and Toon should be in prison and it should've been Gus on his knees groveling to Bew.
I finally managed to watch the last episodes(I had to put it on pause for a few weeks) and agree with you. It…
Speaking nothing but TRUTH! Many of the newer generation are privileged and ignorant!
Yess, don't be payin them babies no mind! It's definitely an issue with the newer generation. They haven't been around to experience the stain of the LGBTQ Hollywood industry, and the growth within BL. How far it's pushed the envelope with queer content across the board(in TV/Movies/Music). Holland for example, a queer music artist, is taking part in BL now. Porche and Arm, two openly gay actors who are now married, have roles in Ai Long Nhai as a gay couple. Jenny is a trans actress who has been in many BLs and James Fagerlund, an openly gay black/thai actor/model/MC just had a big role in My Coach as a trans character. That's LGBTQ cinema in EVERY sense of the word. There are even more men producing these series now, Tee(Bundit), Fluke(Lohanan), Cheewin, New, Aam, Nicchi, Mean, etc.. So the logic of it being just women fantasy doesn't work either.
Queer Hollywood has only just started dipping their toes in the type of content Asian BL has been offering us for almost a decade. By comparison, they're still at a rudimentary level. Heartstopper for example(no offense), but that was about as basic a BL story could get over in these parts. Yet it's being lauded as some of the best LGBTQ content we've seen in ages... It was cute, and I'm happy we got a series like that over here in North America, but I've seen MUCH better elsewhere and much more consistently! They still have a lot of catching up to do as far as I'm concerned.
They don't really want to learn the ugly history that they try to put the sole blame on BL, or accept the reality that refutes their delusion. But they're still babies afterall... You were definitely on point telling them to have several seats.
Just finished episode 2 and I'm really liking this lakorn so far! I kinda wonder if its going to be 10 episodes…
The brother bond between Time and Touch in Love Proposal was definitely top tier. Some of the best I've seen in any drama really. I can definitely sense something similar with the 2 MLs in this series! And looking forward to I Feel You Linger too!
I finally managed to watch the last episodes(I had to put it on pause for a few weeks) and agree with you. It…
Totally feeling you on the tragic ending tropes for the LGBTQ characters in cinema outside of BL. This is precisely why I too gravitated toward BL and feel more willing to support their development even if they aren't well produced. And I feel like a lot of the newer generation who haven't needed to go through that period really understand that. Like sis, it wasn't too long ago that we'd all have to wait between seasons for a new BL to come out, and before that you'd be lucky to find a good LGBTQ story within a span of a few years that didn't involve someone hurling themselves off a building or getting beaten to death... I remember it, and never want to go back! So I feel so thankful that we have so many shows now with good ending that we don't even have the time to fit them all into our daily schedules anymore.
I think you will probly have to go under the radar to watch Game Prattana. Lakorns typically aren't subbed officially for some reason. The lovely Falada subbed the full series on her site. Which is where I watched it: https://faladascreations.com/category/game-prattana/
I have faith that IFYLITA(I had to abbreviate that long a** title. Lol) will have a fair ending. I don't know how the writers are going to pull it off, but if they managed to pull a 'happy ending' out of a story like Something In My Room, then I'm sure they'll figure something out.
I finally managed to watch the last episodes(I had to put it on pause for a few weeks) and agree with you. It…
Ah, yes that makes sense. More and more BLs are starting to pop up on Netflix which really helped expand the fanbase to those who love LGBTQ content! By a stroke of luck I discovered BL after following a series called Eyewitness in the US, which then led me to the original Norwegian series it was based on and then finally SKAM(another popular LGBTQ series at the time from Norway), and then from there I discovered SOTUS and Thai BL(Puppy Honey, Kiss, Together With Me, Love Sick, 2 Moons, Edge of 17, Make it Right, Waterboyy(movie and series) and so forth. Baby, the floodgates were blown open!!!
It's definitely much different now than how it was 6-7 years ago. Thai BL was generally very low budget and off the radar for most folks. There weren't even official subs for most series, which meant most of us all followed a particular subber to get the content we needed. So it was generally easy for most of those scandals to reach us since those subbers would be keeping everyone who watched those shows in the loop. Management was also a lot less official and refined. Most of these folks were making these shows on a dime store budget. Actors had no people to really manage their social or online behavior, so not much of a safety-net if you said or did the wrong things back then unfortunately. The lines were so blurred between reality and fiction back then,,, and MewArt was really a breaking point from all of the mismanagement and toxic fandoms that was going on. I stayed away from most of it, but when everything is tied to a few subbers there isn't much you could do to avoid it. Lol Thankfully the subber I followed had class, but that didn't stop people from talking about it in the comments.
But I'm so happy with the growth of BL since then, and how it's become much more mainstream and consistent. And how a lot of the old school BL actors(Singto, Krist, Off, Gun, Ohm, Newwiee, Tay, Earth, White, Fluke, Max, Tul and so forth) have become big names in the industry and forged a new path for these up and coming young actors. But I think we're probably in a third generation now, since I consider series like What The Duck and Love By Chance a generation before the one we're currently in, and one after the original Love Sick/SOTUS one. There was a bit of a shift in the industry after those two series(WTD and LBC). I will say it definitely feels a lot safer for the current generation, now that they have the older generation around to protect them and a more established industry.
It's giving me all kinds of life! I'm so happy Bright's career is taking off. You should check him out in Game Prattana. He has a BL side story in that one and the series SLAYS!
I finally managed to watch the last episodes(I had to put it on pause for a few weeks) and agree with you. It…
Guuuurl the intro credits is even more intriguing! But really, I think it's a lot of messy fun. The kind of stuff you can just kick your feet up and eat on some apple slices.
Aww, so you're still a little new to the BL world. I've been around since the SOTUS days, so I've lived through quite a few BL scandals... I would say the MewArt one during the What The Duck days was probably the worst of them all though. It was literally just as messy as one of the stories in War of Y. So I know the stuff they're talking about ain't all fiction. The leaked videos, the actor grooming, the manager wars, actors catching real feelings for each, teary eyed confession lives, rapid fan backlash... all of that has happened before.
I'm glad you're fully committed. It's rare to see people still embracing all of the BL content, and even the trash if they can stomach it! I come from the days when content like this was very rare to find, so I'm always appreciative of what we can get. Even the smaller budget stuff.
I finally managed to watch the last episodes(I had to put it on pause for a few weeks) and agree with you. It…
Yesss! Some of it feels a little TOO real... It's hard to pinpoint who they're referring to specifically, but there is too much tea in this series for it all to just be fantasy.
The manager war storyline was definitely pulled from the PerthSaint fallout that happened during the Love By Chance days for example. But I'm not about spreading gossip, so I'll just say the production team and actors do great work with this series. I feel like we're really getting a window into a lot of what goes behind the cameras in the BL industry.
I'm also watching P.S. I Hate You, and the storylines in this are also quite messy! It's mostly the girls and their secrets, but there's a small BL storyline in there to quench our appetites. Lol
But I do need to give a fair warning that there's a SA storyline in here for one of the girls and other dark themes, but so far it seems to be handled with class.
His character ate like a pig, so it wouldn't be surprising if he gained weight for the role. I agree that Mix…
Thanks, sweetheart!
It's important to me that people understand these sort of truths because people(not saying you) often generalize people who don't have the standard figure: usually as lazy and greedy individuals. But there are plenty of us, who don't look like the next top model, that actually work hard and keep our diets in check.
I just went back to watch Part 4, and Namo mentioned they were doing the film to prove that they weren't trying to cover for Akk earlier.
Thank you!

Love the cast and the story it tried to tell, but that wasn't it.
