His character ate like a pig, so it wouldn't be surprising if he gained weight for the role. I agree that Mix…
I get you, and I know you weren't coming for his appearance or anything, but I've seen other people bring up the eating to suggest Mix's character was supposed to have a weight issue.
I believe Win did more than just supervise the farm. Sure, he was one of the owners, but he was shown to be much more involved with the hard labor too. Delivering the calfs, managing the sickness/health of the cattle, and so forth. The latest episode even confirms that the farm workload was similar to him managing all the house chores that were exhausting for Korn to do after they switched.
So it was clearly a much more physically demanding job than normal and is why he had a bigger appetite.
His character ate like a pig, so it wouldn't be surprising if he gained weight for the role. I agree that Mix…
Chile, his character worked on a hot a** farm all day. That type of work creates a much higher demand of calories than normal. You probably wouldn't even gain weight if you ate the way he did while working in conditions like those. The eating was to contrast the physical differences between him and his sister, whom didn't do the farm work, not to indicate that he was overeating. The show makes it clear, Win is a hard worker, so he had a bigger appetite than normal. This is why Korn started eating like crazy when he tried to takeover Win's workload after they switched.
What an aestically pleasing extended commercial with two of my favorite actors. I will not however be buying that…
Gurl, truth!
I for one am glad they spoke on it, because the hypermasculine/petite frame standards isn't just an issue in Hollywood or Thai entertainment, but is prevalent within the gay community as a whole. Many believe only women struggle with these issues, but it's probably just as bad over here, if not worse since most folks don't talk about it and are expected to suck it up and conform because they're men.
I felt every bit of Win's insecurities about his weight even though I knew Korn was coming from a place of genuine care.
As you said, Mix was never overweight, he just didn't meet the unrealistic "beauty" standards that people expect everyone to live by. Also, covid weight is a real thing, so I'm sure that probably had a lot to do with why he looked a bit thiccer than usual, but as I said in the CLW threads, Mix still looked snatched in that.
Sad but all true... I wasn't tryna go too hard on this show since I like the Rain and Phayu story, and cause I…
That's a real shame if that really is the case. I'm usually pretty chill about ads and product placements that get put into these shows, but it's too much in Vice Versa. If I see another damn bucket of KFC on my screen I'm gone go crazy! They're Incredibly obnoxious and so frequent that it's starting to affect the story.... Like Talay said he won't put any unhealthy food in Tess' body, yet they keep making him eat that mess.
I think there could be some truth to what they claim, but I haven't seen any evidence to support it. Eclipse touches on some pretty heavy topics that I'm certain will ruffle some feathers. So I can see them struggling to get sponsors for a production like that. But if it's true I don't think it's right that another show's production gets dragged like this to fund another one.
I just don't know about this show. It has some good pockets and I have sat through worse, but also what is this?…
Sad but all true... I wasn't tryna go too hard on this show since I like the Rain and Phayu story, and cause I like OhmFluke too, but the mismanagement across the board is clear as day. The writing, directing, and music supervision are not up to standard, yet all the stuff they show us would seem to suggest they weren't struggling to fund this... I don't think I've even seen any obvious product placements here(which is starting to work my last nerve on shows like Vice Versa)... It's like the whole production team outside the actors were high throughout the whole production. The actors deserve better.
...Well at least Rain ain't dead yet. Why did every moment feel like he was about to get snatched up though? They playin with us...
Post Credits Scene: Pie is crazy as hell if he poisoned that boy's food just to get some alone time with him
That 25 story hike was hella dumb on Khim's part. Did Sun change rooms at some point? Cause I'm tryna figure out why Khim ain't just get on one of the elevators to catchup to him? He already been to his room before... or did he forget?
WTF!! How the fuck did this show get 7.3 rating?? Its by far the worst thing I have watched in my life. The main…
Whew chile, yeesss!!! It's a hot mess! I said it when it first came out but the gurls were pressed about me speaking the truth(and if somebody else DM me about this mess again they best be ready to get dragged)! Now everybody can see it for what it is.
Check Out was better, because at least we got those delicious scenes with Tee and Ice at the end and Ep0...
I finally managed to watch the last episodes(I had to put it on pause for a few weeks) and agree with you. It…
Guuuuuurl I ain't know there was another episode of this mess?!!! The NC scenes with Ice and Tee left me SNATCHED! and I was still recovering from that beach & shower scene between Payoo and Rain too.... These boys totally killed it! What a way to wrap this series up with such a surprising feast! :P Thanks for letting me know!
I think Stud is in one of the Saneha Stories 4 episodes, but I haven't got around to watching that series yet to know if it's any good.
We'll definitely be seeing each other around then. I have quite a few BL series on my active list, but not many of them have compelled me to participate in the comment section though. I did just start bingeing War of Y... and that's feeling like the kind of messy groove that could get me talking. That show is spillin' all kinds of tea with everybody!
I will probably start commenting over there once I catch up to the current episode(don't want to be spoiled!).
I hope yall ain't skipping those post credits scenes. Somebody asked me last week if Baibua would change her tune if she witnessing a certain something go down. Now we find out next week.
And shhhhhiiiiied! These boys be rowdy AF in this show. I wasn't ready for it!
...They better not be thinkin of pullin a MODC with our boy Rain. I ain't here for it!
Welp, I wanted more. It had so much potential. I actually think Chahub is a good actor. That scene where his mom…
I finally managed to watch the last episodes(I had to put it on pause for a few weeks) and agree with you. It was an aight watch, but had a lot of issues with the writing. Candy and Boat were a bust. The forced random drama between them was lazy and dumb. Boat's talents in particular were severely wasted here, since he was actually great in I Am Your King 2, So I'm quite disappointed he was reduced to bad comic relief and paired with dead weight(no offence to the actress). Chahub is definitely a good actor too, he's one of the few things that made the watch bearable for me. I really hope to see him in more projects.
Daonuea's character just couldn't be salvaged here. It's a combination of bad writing, directing, and acting. Best definitely needs more experience before he decides to jump into more gigs like this one.... And I don't normally comment on an actor's appearance, but Best looked quite sickly in this show. Super pale and thinner than normal. I don't know if it was bad makeup or he tried to lose too much weight for the role, but he didn't look healthy here. The flashback scenes to the special episode made it much more obvious to me. I also remember him in Love With Benefits, and how he looked more healthy there too. This was a pretty big project for him though, so it probably could've just been the workload. I hope he's getting enough rest and recovering from this.
I liked the Ice and Tee moments, but I agree with you. Tee has a really obsessive personality, so I was glad Ice bounced the way that he did without telling him anything upfront... But then we find out Tee is literally about to drop everything and chase after that boy.,, Whew chile! Tee ain't deserved no happy ending after what he did to Nine. I don't know how lower you can get with swooping in to steal a friend's date while they're grieving the death of their mother... But no, for our sakes, it would've been better for us if Ice and Tee was given the focus in the final eps instead... At least I got a good laugh in the final scene with the crying baby and those two failing miserably! Did the pregnant girl die from childbirth or something? Where did it come from? It was one of the most bizarre ending I've seen...
Also, was SUUPER disappointed we got so little screentime for Stud! But it was probably for the best... This is not a series you'd want to have a big role in on your resume! I would really love a Friendzone 3 though. Will probably go back to watch that series again to scratch the itch this series was suppose to do for me.
It was nice having you as a comment partner here at least! Have a blessed day!
I can tell the rug was snatched from under their feet after seeing that rushed ending. Still glad I got to see it. Was a good watch. Maybe it'll be successful enough to be expanded to a full series.
Uncle Man slayed in this episode. I just think he could've been a bit more sensitive to his behavior with X, since it wasn't the the first time he's made suggestive remarks(jokingly) to him around Q. I get that it seemed silly to him, but as the experienced adult in the situation I expected better. Glad they resolved it quickly though.
The mama's reaction is pretty much what I suspected it would be. She's not against her son being gay/queer, but she wants him to be sure because of what that life could bring him. As a parent, that's understandable and realistic, but as other comments mentioned, it didn't really make her a suitable guide for Q to confide in with his situation. She doesn't seem to have her head on straight. She's already jumping to the middle of the journey, and what those issues could bring, when the focus should be on her son and the support he needs now.
Parents aren't perfect though, so I enjoy the fact that Q's parents have their own flaws that ground them as characters, and I don't agree that her actions are disappointing. Narratively, this sheds light on their perspective to the people who often misinterpret what some parents are actually feeling when they bring up concerns about their children's sexuality. And it shows people shouldn't be quick to jump the gun and assume they're just being hateful and selfish.
It's a cute series. I like all the characters so far and think the pacing is fine despite the small episode count.
Umm, why did they try to redeem the dad?! There is no coming back from that abuse, their faces were still healing!…
Nice to see you here, and completely agree.
Chin's daddy be acting like he twelve sending him them heart emojis. It pissed me off but I still got a bit of a chuckle out of the audacity of it all. Lol
But yes, there wouldn't be a number for him to be sending me that to, since the number would be changed the moment I got outta that hell house! I get not accepting his son being gay(I don't actually), but treating him like he isn't a person but an investment is on some next level slave-driving mess. And if the physical assault wasn't enough he had to add a threat to murder him(and U) on top of it all.
Like you said, there's just no way U should be the only one having to come to Chin's rescue here. There should've been a full rally behind Chin for that situation since it was pretty severe. And Tisa is the worst for putting him through that too. She's up there with the nastiest evil GFs in BL. And I think that's one thing that needs to be improved on in this genre. These characters always seem to escape the justice they deserve.
I think a better ending for Pat would've been for him to see what was happening with Chin at his home, find the truth behind Chin's relationship with U and break things off for himself. He really didn't deserve to be treated like a doormat in this for Chin and U's drama and be kept in the dark about everything. And like you, I also didn't like that he was given a random deus ex machina twin of U(all complete with a shirt spill scene), to give him a "happy" ending, That just wasn't it and felt like a slap in the face to his character arc.
But I did like the series overall. It was cute, funny, and entertaining. The leads had great chemistry too.
