Does anyone have any opinion about the case where the guy got 2 years prison even though that girl said both love…
I'm kinda ambivalent about it. On the one hand: -the victim has a mental capacity of a teenager
-her mother wants to protect her
-laws are strict about sexual assault, especially when it concerns minors and disabled people. If the girl was a minor the defendant would have gotten jail time even if sex was consensual.
-defendant was a gigolo with prior evidence
But on the other hand: -the way prosecution and judge seen her as your cliche dumb autist with no clue what's going on and the way they questioned her was disgusting to watch: nobody can judge an answer about what love is, everyone has their own vision of it. Also, nobody with medical expertise was in the courtroom to interpret why she is being stressed out by the uncomfortable questions. And even her habit of scratchig her hand when she's stressed wasn't questioned - of course she was overwhelmed after her first time with a man, any girl would be! But nobody seen it in that light. They just gave no weight to her testimony because she's an autist.
-she knew the guy was a gigolo but still believed that she loved him. Falling in love with a bad guy is not a crime, many normal women fall for the same trick
-her mother clearly was overprotective of her
-there was NO CLEAR EVIDENCE he sexually assaulted or forced her
-her mother forced her to give a false testimony
So it's understandable that jury was divided. But I kinda don't agree with judge's verdict - not only did he give the defendant jail time but the defendant will now be registered as a sexual predator in all the registers for years. With no clear evidence and no priors this last part felt unfair, like when people get unjustly "me too"-ed unfair.
Btw, wtf was FL's mom suggesting? If you want to become an attorney in another country you will have to study that country's laws from scratch and pass the bar all over again. Nobody will hire you to practice law if you studied law in another country just like that, you just won't have the license. This is just dumb, nobody in their right mind would waste years on this again. Also, treatment for autism? It's not a disease you can cure, you dumb π€¬.
But I get it that it's just a ploy from her part to send FL and her father away. I hope they won't give in to her threats. But I fear she'll use some heavy artillery next time. Like blackmail, trying to disparage FL's mental capacity so that she won't be able to practice law, etc. After seeing her today she's capable of anything by the looks of it.
I really really hope they won't separate WYW and LJH by sending her to Boston. I hope it wouldn't even get to…
Mom has no legal rights to force her to do anything. But she may blackmail her dad or use her connections to give trouble to FL at work. I really hope this wonβt have those dumb long distance relationship tropes though.
FL's mom is a cold careerist bitch π£. And here I thought she'd want to get together with her daughter. I feel really bad for FL's dad, that woman really ruined his life. I don't care now who does it, Hanbada CEO, Min Woo - somebody needs to take her down a peg and ruin her political career plans.
then it is surely that naksu gonna get her real body back.
Hong sisters may do us dirty and kill off both Mu-Deok and Naksu inside by the end of part 1. And then we'll have some boring side stories about Uk and the rest of the Four Seasons in part 2. I'm just saying, gotta be prepared for any outcome with them π.
Believe it or not, education system in certain parts of Asia is ridiculously competitive even starting from grade…
Yea, several posters, including myself have commented on it below. It's a really hot issue in Asia irl. And this drama covered not one, but actually two episodes concerning this issue. The first one being about a suicidal brother of the autistic person that likes Pengsoo.
That paparazzi stalking Tae Suni... I feel like they're gonna tear her down with Youngwoo too, pushing the nepotism…
I think they'll expose her having an illegitimate child and she'll be faced with a decision to fight them and pursue her political career or getting together with her daughter. And she'll choose the latter, I think.
Does anybody else feel that mentor Jung Myung-Seok needs some love too? He's such a nice guy and he's not married judging by the lack of the ring and sleeping alone. At first I even thought there's gonna be some love triangle with that character. But he's all professional with everyone.
Also, I think FL's friend will get jealous of Choi Soo Yeon and in the end will end up dating Mr. Hairy, her boss. He's the nice, quiet type π
When Romance tag will finally be added to this drama's genre? It clearly has romance in it and not just a slight version. Slight version is something akin to Military Prosecutor Doberman, but here it's oozing with it. Do moderators have something against autistic people having romantic relationships?
Well, they've already shown us a darker episode with the similar message. How brother of the autistic person tried to kill himself many times because of all the stress of studying and trying to please his parents. That's where it will lead for some of those kids. I'm glad this topic was raised again, but showing it from the roots of the problem when kids are still so naive and playful.

Are we gonna see her backstory at last? Or is it from the first episode?
