Seeing how this show has the same writer as Suspicious Partner, main villain there kinda reminds of the stalker here. He was an accomplice in a teenagers gangrape crime, but got his mind twisted so much that he conveniently erased that memory and instead only remembered simply that he liked the victim and so he became determined to bring justice to her offenders, himself excluded of course. I kinda get the feeling when that stalker was a kid he was involved in ML sister's disappearance and FL was there as well, but now he acts like some creepy white knight to her.

Her statement, his creepy messages while he was in the hospital, his instagram photos are good evidence. And there are numerous people who will testify for her - her family, her boss and his friend, chef Lee as well. While he's got nothing basically to threaten her with. That blood splat was most likely already detergened spotless.

And with that mindset many stalkers and abusers get away. If you report him, he gets a restraining order and if he violates it he'll get a more severe sentence next time and can go to jail as a repeated offender. And he may as well be reinvestigated for similar behaviour concerning Lee chef's sister. One thing leads to another. But if you do nothing, of course there is no chance police will help you. I'd say stop blaming the police in this drama, they're just following procedures here.

Still, it's better to let the police know than not, let's not imagine here a makjang k-drama plots with corrupt police and chaebols covering their shit with money. And FL did have witnesses evidence and his creepy messages to her, and his creey instagram. That's plenty of evidence actually, police can work with that and at least get a restraining order on him. She was just afraid he'll accuse her and her family of trying to kill him, but good for her she stopped being afraid of him. And that stalker doesn't have any evidence actually, aside from hospital bills, and that taxi driver will stay silent or else he'll also get to jail for hit and run under the influence.
Police is not doing anything because nobody is reporting anything and they can't just interrogate ppl on their odd behaviour. More like police has nothing to work with. FL said to the female police officer she's gonna report her stalker but we didn't see it yet. But at least she told her about him unofficially and that he could be a suspect in an earlier three story building murder, which is the only actual crime the police is aware of atm.
Ep 8 & still loving the drama & the leads. It has the right amount of everything I need, a tad of melo, suspense,…
Not coming to the police actually will lead to much more severe problems and sentences irl, especially if you did something bad and covered it up. The egregiousness of characters actions in this drama is over the top though, I guess it's for comedy's sake, but damn if it doesn't look sinister. Did FL's mother and grandma experience something like this in the past already, did they kill and stash the body somewhere? That taxi driver is no better. Gotta wonder what other crimes people in that creepy neighbourhood are capable of and guilty of.
Sigh, this show is becoming too tropey and soapy. I mean, after so many years they all come together and of course they met each other as kids (god, I hate this trope the most, why is it so damn popular in k-dramas?). I've a theory that the Link between the leads is perhaps ML sister's ghost or something like that. ML started feeling FL's feelings around the same time that stalker started stalking her. Maybe it's a way to help FL and finally resolve her murder or smth.
So the stalker is already in the foreground, I hope writers didn't jump the gun here and the show won't start dragging, as it's still a long way to go. If it's all gonna continue revolving about how to get rid of him and how he was involved in FL's and ML sister's past I feel I'm gonna get bored. Props to FL for putting him in his place, he's a coward with low self-esteem as all such creeps are. Hopefully he'll get caught in the act of trying to kill somebody soon. But again, I hope he's not the main villain to deal with and there are bad ppl in the neighbourhood yet to be revealed.
"Crown Prince was already born by the time Jang Uk was born so the star cannot be for him right? the person that…
If it's like anything in irl royal successions, late King's son technically is more eligible to the throne, being a direct successor, than King's brother and his line. Doesn't matter if a new King was elected, he can always get deposed. But that doesn't mean it was accepted without question, especially if various power hungry factions in the court were involved. And in this drama it seems ML's father knew it will spell trouble and even said that if ML were to know and act on this he won't survive (most likely he meant upcoming power struggle). On the other hand, he could have stopped being so spiteful and just accepted ML as his son to avoid this speculation. But then again, if ML by his unusual birth is destined to become some sort of superman troublemaker maybe it still would have raised questions about his parentage. This aspect of birth in this fantasy world is very confusing and annoying, it's hard to accept that it doesn't work like irl, through genetics. If this whole speculation about passing on soul instead of dna won't actually be true it will be very dumb.
Ahh, you and your comments have allready been missed here. Guess you had to post your plagiarism accusations on…
Don't bother replying to such comments. It's just yet another bait to start a flame war in the comments. Let them vent in frustration, the show is still gonna be watched by many and rated based on its great quality, not some baseless hateful comments.
"Crown Prince was already born by the time Jang Uk was born so the star cannot be for him right? the person that…
Crown Prince is the son of late King's relative. If ML really is his son by that fantasy world's rules then he has more rights to the throne than the Crown Prince. That's how historically irl great upheavals in courts and change of power were happening all the time - who has more rights to the throne, which faction supports which candidate, etc...
Aside from very annoyingly dumb premise of ML's birth secret (I bet his father, if he's still alive, will be very sorry for doing that by the end) this show is really great so far. I especially like how three-dimensional and clever two main characters are. I hope with hefty 20 episodes it won't start to drag in the later half as it more often than not happens with such long dramas.
I only wish that lore intricacies of this new fantasy world like magic, places and ranks of government hierarchy were a bit better explained and translated if possible to digestible English. Not like an exposision dump in the drama itself (I hate those), but maybe somewhere outside of it, like a dedicated wiki fansite, or smth. For example, how Songrim, Sejukwon, Cheonbugwan etc. are translated? Or Jipsu, Ryusu, Chisu and Hwansu (I'm getting shonen anime a-la Naruto vibes frome these, lol)? First two episodes at times were rather hard to grasp with all these meaningless terms thrown in, along with clans and tons of characters.
God I hate the "I'm doing all this to protect you" trope so much when will these ppl learn 🙄
Yea, yea. It's like self fulfilling prophecies. Classic, but nobody ever learns. They 're doing everything to prevent his supposed fate which in turn just spurns him on to reach it.
This show was really great until around episode 11, until the main villain was finally revealed. Bet then it went downhill by going through the same motions as in the first half, but with some added stupidity. Main villain after spending 18(!) years in coma (!!) for simply taking a knife to his side (!!!) started walking and running, and killing basically after a week (!!!!). Constantly crying wife started suspecting her husband again because of fake evidence, even though just before that she decided to trust him no matter what and they made up. Policemen not following the procedures. Evil guys started "twirling their mustaches" like they're in makjang drama. ML's sister became very annoying with her frequent bouts of "Imma gonna go to the police now to give myself in" - lady, where were you all these 18 years? If life was so hard for you, you should have gone to the police and relieved your burden years ago. Not when everything is on the verge of being revealed anyway. Very smart ML started acting very shortsighted, but very courageous, like he's immortal or smth. ML's convenient selective amnesia at the end. And the list goes on... Also, I didn't like how main villain's actor played his role - he looked like he was being high all the time. Now ML's father on the other hand, that's a proper cold and calculating creep... Anyway, I think this show would have benefited from fewer episodes, maybe then writers wouldn't have had to invent dumb plot twists and repetitive situations by the end.
And it was already mentioned in episode 3, by Jin clan's matriarch - her eldest daughter was killed allegedly. Also, maybe it's nothing, but that wine loving grandpa Heo Yeom was sus of Mu-Deok's ears - he said he'd seen them somewhere already.
Really? I thought the ending was very fitting. Did you expect a wedding or smth? FL is an actress with no plans…
Lol, marriage doesn't guarantee anything either. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. And if you wanna see a real bitersweet ending then go watch Goblin if you haven't already, with same actors to boot. The one here though is definitely a happy one.
