What are yalls favorite episode? Mine would probably be Episode 6, The Grandpa episode. It was simple, fullfilling…
The ones that hit the hardest and were most difficult to watch - episodes about a bullied girl, about a rape victim, about Im Ryung Goo's mom, about comfort women, about FL's and Park Joong Gil's past. Most of these are about mistreatment of women, come to think of it, but that's because this is so relevant even today.
Binge watched the last seven episodes ,,, it was fun watch ,, not complaining about the plot because it's romantic…
I think ML actor being slim helped selling his character being exempt from serving in the army. I doubt you can get exempt just for being a neat freak like FL jokingly suggested, but height to weight ratio is a real thing that can get you exempt.
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but it's a very slow and boring show. I figured out what happened after about half the episodes and had to frequently fast forward all the meandering scenes. Younger ML's fixation on older ML got annoying really fast too. His self-righteousness also got on my nerves.
The broadcasting company may be to blame for the controversy, but I disagree with people review bombing this show just because of it. There were many hard working, talented people involved in the production of this great show - the actors, the writers, the staff. They had no say, and had nothing to do with it - their work should be reviewed honestly. Also, this controversy seems overblown - hard to notice, like an easter egg, and not showing 1 to 1 the same personal data. So it looks more like a coincidence than anything else.
Yea, like why the 2nd couple are not married yet after a whole year? Afaik, in manhwa they not only got married but also had a baby. Ending was very rushed, this drama should have been a couple of episodes more. Instead of dropping that dumb last minute LDR trope, it should have been about grandpa accepting FL on-screen and visiting her family's chicken shop. And more about the 2nd couple, and some fan service scenes of all of them together in the end. But nah, baited the audience with many great expectations, but ended up ruining them.
there were so many people who hated No Go Jin so. fucking. much. it makes you really wonder just how big of a…
It wasn't just his nasty personality. His personality got him in trouble with his secretaries and suicidal stalker. But most of the people who were out there to get him were doing it for their own selfish reasons - his ex (jealous revenge after dumping him 12! years ago), his ex-boss from another education company (professional jealousy), the main villain (just a big jerk, also jealous), his best friend (dumbass, influenced by the main villain), Ms. Ma the teaching assistant (for teh money).
I really don't like FL actress. She's done too many plastic surgeries on her face it seems, so now her smile looks plastered on her face and looks very disingenuous. I've noticed that since What's Wrong With Secretary Kim. She'd had a normal face earlier, in Healer, for example. I really like ML actor though, guy has range and can pull off different roles. His most recent work in Crazy Love was even better. As for this show - it's pretty boring. FL is too pretty for your average hardcore fangirl to be believable, then she even forgets all about it and the show stops being funny. There was this dumb trope that I absolutely hate - "met as kids = destiny!". And also awkward stepbrother love. The only thing I liked about it was the mystery of the bubble paintings and how they all compiled together in the end like a puzzle.
Started interesting, but got really boring after about 6 episodes. I also hate that dumb trope "met as kids = destined to be together". In how many such dramas FL's actress starred already? I recall similar crap in Her Private Life in which she starred as well.
Yea, crazy stuff basically stopped by episode 9 (but that's like half of the episodes, not just a few), when the…
Yea, as I've mentioned above she did have several scenes thinking about ML in that vein. But it wasn't shown as explicitly as for ML - that this is it, he fell for her. Maybe it's because of that scene you've mentioned - her friend told her with those acting co-stars analogy to be cautious and that there is a high risk of deluding herself. In any case, it was all made clear by the end of episode 11. Also, props to the writers for writing them to behave sensibly and maturely in their relationship, and not implementing any dumb tropes for angst and drama sake.
Love story was very cringe because FL is such a stupid dumbass. Also, her role would have benefited from a more experienced actress. By the end I just started skipping romantic scenes. But I liked the politicians and spies story - which is really the main focus of this drama. Romance here feels like a misleading bait. Not too bad overall, support cast full of veteran actors nailed their roles.
I would say the wrong title for the last 10 episodes cause the love was crazy indeed but it only lasted a few…
Yea, crazy stuff basically stopped by episode 9 (but that's like half of the episodes, not just a few), when the main reason for it was resolved for FL and ML came to appreciate her sticking with him despite everything and stopped being a dick to her. However I disagree that their relationship wasn't shown sufficiently, on the contrary. This drama doesn't rush with character exposition and growth. If you paid attention, ML's attitude towards FL started to change from around episode 6 - he quickly got used to her, as you do with all good things, and started to miss her when she wasn't around. Then in episode 8 ML finally saw FL as a beautiful woman and that kiss scene at the end was the trigger, so to speak - he started having romantic feelings towards her. Then that revelation later with her diary pushed him to aknowledge it. Didn't seem out of the blue at all. FL's reasons for loving ML were less clear though, I guess she got used to him too and may have started having some feelings towards him around episode 8, there were scenes about it. However, I think it mainly came to the popular trope seen in other dramas ( What's Wrong With Secretary Kim, Business Proposal readily come to mind) - super confident and charismatic boss started coming on to her like a bulldozer and she just gave up and fell for his charms :)
And writers didn't forget about FL, it's just that her main problem was effectively resolved in the first half of the show and she turned back to her kind and nice self, but with a newfound courage and profound realization how she should be living from now on. Which helped immensely to resolve ML's problems in the second part as she was there to support him. This plot division seemed very deliberate, as one plot point led to the resolution of another. It couldn't have happened in parallel if FL was still dealing with her problem till the very end and continued having crazy bouts with ML, however hilarious they were.
Over the top drama, but it knows it. Acting was superb, especially the very nasty villains. And I still remember FL parodying villainess's dance at the law firm party :D
Better than Goblin by a mile, prove me wrong. The Grim Reapers organization's portrayal here is way more competent and logical. As well as the theme about repenting for your sins from previous lives.
So it was indeed a coincidence. Looks like BTS fans can't help but look for patterns even when there are none.
