Aside from very annoyingly dumb premise of ML's birth secret (I bet his father, if he's still alive, will be very sorry for doing that by the end) this show is really great so far. I especially like how three-dimensional and clever two main characters are. I hope with hefty 20 episodes it won't start to drag in the later half as it more often than not happens with such long dramas.
I only wish that lore intricacies of this new fantasy world like magic, places and ranks of government hierarchy were a bit better explained and translated if possible to digestible English. Not like an exposision dump in the drama itself (I hate those), but maybe somewhere outside of it, like a dedicated wiki fansite, or smth. For example, how Songrim, Sejukwon, Cheonbugwan etc. are translated? Or Jipsu, Ryusu, Chisu and Hwansu (I'm getting shonen anime a-la Naruto vibes frome these, lol)? First two episodes at times were rather hard to grasp with all these meaningless terms thrown in, along with clans and tons of characters.
God I hate the "I'm doing all this to protect you" trope so much when will these ppl learn 🙄
Yea, yea. It's like self fulfilling prophecies. Classic, but nobody ever learns. They 're doing everything to prevent his supposed fate which in turn just spurns him on to reach it.
This show was really great until around episode 11, until the main villain was finally revealed. Bet then it went downhill by going through the same motions as in the first half, but with some added stupidity. Main villain after spending 18(!) years in coma (!!) for simply taking a knife to his side (!!!) started walking and running, and killing basically after a week (!!!!). Constantly crying wife started suspecting her husband again because of fake evidence, even though just before that she decided to trust him no matter what and they made up. Policemen not following the procedures. Evil guys started "twirling their mustaches" like they're in makjang drama. ML's sister became very annoying with her frequent bouts of "Imma gonna go to the police now to give myself in" - lady, where were you all these 18 years? If life was so hard for you, you should have gone to the police and relieved your burden years ago. Not when everything is on the verge of being revealed anyway. Very smart ML started acting very shortsighted, but very courageous, like he's immortal or smth. ML's convenient selective amnesia at the end. And the list goes on... Also, I didn't like how main villain's actor played his role - he looked like he was being high all the time. Now ML's father on the other hand, that's a proper cold and calculating creep... Anyway, I think this show would have benefited from fewer episodes, maybe then writers wouldn't have had to invent dumb plot twists and repetitive situations by the end.
And it was already mentioned in episode 3, by Jin clan's matriarch - her eldest daughter was killed allegedly. Also, maybe it's nothing, but that wine loving grandpa Heo Yeom was sus of Mu-Deok's ears - he said he'd seen them somewhere already.
Really? I thought the ending was very fitting. Did you expect a wedding or smth? FL is an actress with no plans…
Lol, marriage doesn't guarantee anything either. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. And if you wanna see a real bitersweet ending then go watch Goblin if you haven't already, with same actors to boot. The one here though is definitely a happy one.

Not every rom-com needs to end on a wedding, and not every does. This is not obligatory for a satisfying happy ending. This drama ends on a high note anyway and after what went on in this drama and knowing their confessions and promises to never break up again you know how it will end eventually.
Jin Mu's words: "If a soul is too strong it enters an unbefitting body and cannot access its energy."We know why…
Well, there is info that Jin clan has their eldest daughter missing, presumably killed. Maybe Mu-Deok is that missing daughter, a mage heir. Maybe soul shifting prefers mage bodies instead of muggles?
So you think that is possible for a soldier to leave North Korea without consequences?! 🤔
Btw, come to think of it, ML had an even easier way of living with FL permanently. It's how it works irl, and it was even featured in this drama - NK defectors get an offer to live in SK and get SK citizenship, they are not repatriated for running away. And there are no stories of ppl being hunted down by NK in SK for running away. If ML was afraid to put his parents in danger that way, he shouldn't have gone to SK in the first place. But since he did and his father used his connections for him and his whole squad to get away with it, I'm sure he could have arranged for him to leave NK again, or even fake his death so that nobody'd be looking for him and suspect his parents. But again, ML here is ambivalent - he's a patriot and loves his parents, but he loves FL too, if not more. Hence the dumb ending - they meet every other blue moon.

If we’re talking about authenticity FL would have blown herself up on a minefield in DMZ or killed in episode one. But that wouldn’t make much of a plot, would it?
So you think that is possible for a soldier to leave North Korea without consequences?! 🤔
And you know nothing about NK neither. But given that it’s a k-drama and everything in it should be taken at face value what I’ve pointed above could have been possible for certain.
So if Naksu body is gone does that mean MD soul also went with it - as in dead?
Maybe they copied Mr. Queen plot concerning Mu-Deok's soul, as in it's still in her body along with Naksu's but hibernating. But personally I'm more concerned about FL eventually turning to stone like those other unfortunate soul shifters, didn't 100% get how it happens - lack of energy, bodies incompatibility, simply time?
Everything was great except for the very abrupt ending. ☹☹☹
Really? I thought the ending was very fitting. Did you expect a wedding or smth? FL is an actress with no plans for retiring, on the contrary she just got her career back on track. Female celebrities in SK usually marry when they plan to retire to raise a family. And going for marriage ending here would have been rushing it too fast anyway. Instead it had another great one where FL finally publicly announced she's dating a non-celebrity, which also is a big deal.
Guys I didn't say he shouldn't love her or being worried or not to take care of her I meant after knowing she…
That's not true and @dcinmb already explained how it went. And if you mean advs like product placements in k-dramas - it can't be helped. They always do this, unless a k-drama was fully paid for by Netflix or somesuch, otherwise they will show PPLs in various episodes, especially by the end.

First, he's no longer a soldier at the end, but a pianist. Second, his father has big influence and connections. Nobody of his squad faced any repercussions for going to SK. And as a pianist he already comes and goes to Switzerland. I'm sure he could have made it possible for him. If not as real NK then with fake ID. Nobody will be looking to kill him or repatriate him, NK is not that savage as stereotypes go. But I guess ML is too much of a patriot and doesn't want to leave his parents. On the other hand, he was willing to put them in danger for FL. I don't like this ambivalence in ML at the end, to me it would have been better for him to go live with FL, since he loves her more than his parents apparently.
I hated that he neglected his work and what happened around him like that starting from episode 11 for her sake…
That's a weird reason to be annoyed. It's a rom-com. And ML really fell in love with FL, so everything else faded into background, especially in episode 11-12 when he still didn't know she wasn't gonna die on him. And once that was resolved and bad guys really started ganging up on him he got himself together.
Unpopular opinion, but this show is still nope fo me. The plot is too silly, predictable and cheesy, middle-aged characters continue acting like teenagers, acting is so-so. I'm gonna finish this since I don't drop dramas once I've started, but I'm glad it's only 12 episodes. There is a much better ongoing one with similar supernatural twist called Link: Eat, Love, Kill.
I just watched ep 1 and I’m so confused. Why did the mom and grandma hide the body in the fridge instead of…
Self-defense that leads to murder would have been very difficult to prove. I've seen another k-drama where there was such a case where a wife killed her husband while he was beating her senseless and everyone from prosecution to lawyers weren't hopeful for her, because in all such previous cases it was deemed unreasonable self-defense and women were found guilty of murder. FL's mother and grandmother seemed to have an experience such as this from earlier time. I think they killed FL's father who was beating FL's mother and stashed his body similarly.
