This drama arguably has two of the dumbest break-ups in a row I've ever seen, followed up by a nonsensical time skip, followed by what looks to be LDR in the teaser. F*ck this dumb, erratic couple who easily drop each other several times in a month all the while whining to the others they can't live without each other. I can't even with this mess, whoever wrote this fanfic needs to get back to school, because it looks like it's written by a child.
Just as the previous part this one is set to perma 2x speed. As rushed and as all over the place as the previous one. They should have done a kdrama with 8 episodes minimum to make the story comprehensible, with enough time given to character development. But as it is, it's just a messy trainwreck that crashed at breakneck speed without any breaks. Can't give it more than 6 and even that is very generous.
Eh, this is becoming too nonsensical. ML is frustratingly dumb, everyone's selfish in their own way so it's hard to empathize with characters, miscommunication is the main driving force of this actually very easily resolvable drama. I'm glad it's nearing its end, I'm regretting starting watching it. Too messy and dumb for my liking.
At the beginning of the episode it was especially rich to see ML being mad at FL for not telling him. When, my dude? You were in denial of this whole situation for the whole last episode, forcing FL to do the same and taking off with her to have a day without a care in the world. I mean, I've seen lots of silly break-ups for dumbest of reasons, but this has got to be somewhere at the top of the list of the most idiotic.
And I've said this before, but both of these brothers are walking red flags, FL's too good for either of them. I don't know when did she suddenly start to like ML, was it during his constant bullying of her and erratic behavior? It was jarring to see how she was pitying him all the while he acted like a douche. He's not a nice guy even to his brother. And his brother's a selfish prick who used FL's strong sense of compassion to stay in the closet and keep on floating downstream. I dunno, one of the most unlikable cast of male characters. And FL's mediocre acting isn't making up to it.
I've always been curious how do they separate people in public records in SK, are there never any mixups? Small surname variety, names variety is bigger, but still lots of same or samey ones. I've seen one kdrama where FL had a very similar name to another patient coming on the same day and doctors mixed FL's medical records with hers, misdiagnosing FL with terminal disease.
Her husband being alive or dead was irrelevant. He also won't touch her and for what I know these types of night…
Thanks for the explanation. They seem to have made a more mild and palatable plot version in the drama, probably for the ratings. The old TV series also omitted a lot of stuff and both dramas had some sequence of events changed, like making Anjin hatamato at sea after fleeing Osaka, instead of after saving Toranaga from the earthquake's landslide.
Anyway, this seems like a fascinating piece of work, this book, I should read it some time. The author didn't even need to invent much drama or intrigue like in Game of Thrones, Sengoku period's turbulent events had it all already. Too bad this plot won't follow it till the end, namely Osaka castle's siege a decade later and subsequent killing of Hideyoshi's heir and his mother, cementing Tokugawa's rule. But it's far enough, I suppose.

Is that from the book? I've only watched the old TV series and read some stuff, but jeez, this is so dark. Her husband is a f*cking monster, but also a product of his time, I suppose. There were lots of such...colorful hard-ass characters back in the day. Take Oda Nobunaga, for example, it's been long speculated that her father Akechi Mitsuhide killed Nobunaga for personal reasons aka. Nobunaga was known to be a big douchebag and bully of his vassals. Or take Tokugawa Ieyasu himself - Nobunaga told him to kill his wife because of alleged rumors of her planning to assassinate Nobunaga. Tokugawa went on and killed her, no questions, to show his loyalty. And then he went on and killed his son so that he wouldn't take revenge for killing his mother. Basically, past was the worst. And being brutal beasts was the norm if you had power.
I'm starting to think ML is just dumb. Isn't it weird that FL likes him, but also wants to marry her brother because she also has some kind of feelings for him? I'd be like - is she into polyamory or should I add 2 and 2 and realize she's doing that to help his brother? Especially considering they've been friends for a long time and she likely knows his secret. It's so obvious, I'm dumbfounded he was clueless. And why is he mad at her at the end? Bro, you should either be relieved that it's fake and you're not cucking your brother, or understanding that it's not FL's secret to share. If she tells anybody it's fake then questions will be raised as to what's the point of it all. Just like ML can't tell anybody about his brother's secret, it's the same. Anyway, I guess it's time for an obligatory dumb break-up phase. Good thing this drama's only 12 episodes long, not much time for dumb angst.
Mariko is really an animal in heat! Her husband died recently, her niece is the consort of the Anjin and what…
1. She hates her husband, it was a political marriage. There was no love lost seeing him running on a suicide mission to stall the enemies, on the contrary, she was seemingly relieved to be rid of him. Unfortunately he came back later. 2. Japan had different morals about sex compared to Europe at that time. 3. Why can’t a woman have a secret dalliance with another man? Her niece has nothing to do with it. Furthermore, men could have had numerous concubines at that time if they could afford it. 4. Put what you wrote under spoiler, ffs.
Did you watch "Silver Spoon" (the OG series)? I assume so because you went in detail somewhat, it kinda looks…
I didn’t watch it, but I know Russian and read its detailed Russian wiki. Flexxcop doesn’t follow the og plot, thankfully. Only the premise is the same. Hopefully it will stay that way.
Strangely I wanna see him bond with his step mom..........it's the closest thing he has to family. I wanna see…
I dunno about that. They were never close and really hate each other, and she's off her rocker at the end of the drama. I think she's out of the plot and in some mental hospital after season 1. The closest thing to a family ML has is the butler. He was more of a father figure to ML than his real father.
What are your hopes for season 2? -Mine are romance with FL that was teased but didn't happen. Her family's also very nice, they can be a good substitute for ML since he's now got no family left. -More lighthearted, funny episodes. -More interesting cases with good mystery. -I don't want anybody to die, I like all characters. The og TV series this drama's based on had lots of main characters killed off, FL included, and it doesn't sit well with me here. They're not following the og plot here though, so here's hoping nothing bad's gonna happen. -No draggy plot that spans numerous seasons. Ain't nobody got time to watch 5 or more seasons of same stuff nowadays. Perhaps 2 seasons is enough.
The one question this drama has unanswered - how much hair gel does ML use to style his hair per day? I'd say a whole frikking bottle, his hair looks like you can chop wood on it without consequence 🤣

I love these series, but Japanase live adaptations are notoriously cheesy af...
