The drama was the best drama so far this year. It's difficult for me to describe the impact of this Drama in words. The acting was great, the plot had a good pace and was perfect. The ending, even though it is heartbreaking fits the tone of the drama. Actually it's the best ending they could choose for this kind of drama. This way we can experience how it feels for a parent when their children go missing and there is no trace of them. It tores something inside apart, it hurts so deeply. Since I'm an emotional person and I tend to become emotionally involved a lot with the characters of stories, I feel the need to write a sequel, which will dig into the mystery that surround Qi. Maybe in my fanfiction it will turn out that he is Doudou, maybe not - but I want to write some closure, at least for myself, something that helps me to overcome the pain I experienced while watching, something that gives an answer to the question what happened to Doudou, but also how Qi ended up in the situation he was in.
I'm not buying it either, so only EP 13 and 14 for me today as well. However I wonder about something ... [see…
Yes it is realistic. I decided to give it 10 stars, despite the sad ending - it was just a brilliant drama. All those deep feelings. And for myself (maybe I will upload it on AO3) I started to write a Sequel - in which I ask some questions and Xiao Qi decides, that he wants to dig into his own past, find out who he was, find his lost memory and by doing so, he hopes he might find clues about the remaining missing boy Doudou. I will see how far it goes. Maybe Qi will turn out to be Doudou, maybe not - but I want to write some ending for myself in which Doudou comes back in the end. And with EP 15 I was so relieved that Wang Shitu didn't ignore his own principles, but everything had been a trap for Jin Manfu. That was such a good move by the police.
Deep down i wanted Wang Xiao qi to be Wang Wang shi tu's lost child....
Me too ... but in some way he became his son. And personally, to me - as long as there is no scientific proof against it- he just is. I mean, they never did a paternity test. They also didn't dig deeper into who Qi truly is. He lost his memories and doesn't know where he came from. He was picked up from the street. We know nothing about his past before he came to the thief's den. Thus it would still be possible. It's not verified that he can't be Wang Shitu's lost son. The possibility itself remains open.

It makes sense - but - but - some part of me just feels to sad about the thought that Qi is not Doudou. I wish he were. Makes me want to write a fanfiction about it. Another clue, that Doudou might actually be dead is how Doudou's mom in the past suddently asked her husband to forget about Doudou. Mothers usually can feel whether their children are still alive or not. That she wanted her husband to let go, might indicate, that she on her death bed felt, that her son is dead and maybe she saw his spirit, since she was about to die as well. Still for part of me such a possility would be too sad. Each ending that does not reveal Qi being Doudou would feel sad to me. Part of my wants it so much. I have not watched EP 15 and 16 yet, though. May do so now, since I can't concentrate on writing atm. I think I have to watch these episodes, to get over my restlessness. At least I was able to complete some lessons in the morning ^^

Why did Captain Wang believe Jin Manfu but never, literally never ever considered to do a paternity test with any children he found and saved? If I were a father and lost my child, no matter what I feel, I would always, always do this test, just in case. Even if it can't be. I would take that test. But Captain Wang never did. Why? I can't understand why. Instead he believes Jin Manfu so easily. I can relate to your ager after EP 14.
I'm not buying the express package so plz plz plz tag your spoilers ok?

Yeah, still some missing pieces. Jin Man Fu sure still is suspicious.
I did go back to check how similar the boys look and therefore didn't give that much attention to the kidnapper. π€£ Will check out the kidnapper later. Work is waiting for me.
Yeah, still some missing pieces. Jin Man Fu sure still is suspicious.
Both of your theories sound as if they could be correct. I also wondered in a previous episode already who the kidnapper could be, but had not checked yet, whose body shape would fit the best. ^^ Thanks for verifying. I did something similar in another drama and guessed the main villian correctly by doing so. Thus I think you could be right. :)
Ok so ep 11 closes Wang Shuai's arc. Now we need to solve Bian Jie and Doudou's story. I won't post any spoiler…
I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Hope by then we'll get english subs and hopefully not only for ep 11 but also 12. Going to watch them both in a run then. ^^
There might still be a possibility - I heard that even identical tweens are not exactly identical. Even they have slight differences. I also encountered a girl once who looked like me in my teens. Thus maybe during specific time frames even identical twins can look slightly different. Personally I like the twin theory. Thus I watched the beginning once more to find similarities aside from the differences. They share indeed some similarities, but also differences. There is also the possibility that the producers used different childactors on purpose to mislead us. It is indeed a big mystery. Let's see how the whole story will unveil. ^^ I'm excited for the upcoming episodes.
Maybe. But when they were kids they slightly looked different. Still, I wonder - what if Bian Menzhen gave birth to twins? What if Doudou was also adopted and that's the reason why Wang Shitu never runs a paternity test. Even with Qi he doesn't do, although there are hints that Qi might be Doudou. It would be easy to verify whether Qi is really Doudou. However Wang Shitu always hides behind the excuse he would know - that should go for mothers, mothers really know, but I doubt fathers have this kind of sixth sense, that they just know. That's also why I believe that Bian Menzhen knew from the beginning that Qi was not Bian Jie, she knew but she didn't care, because she wanted her son back and thus anybody who would have appeared and told her they are her son, she would have welcomed them.
Can someone throw a light on why xiao qi shares so many similar traits as Doudou.....If real bian jie is alive,…
I think Du Yi returned, because he thought Bian Jie is back as well. Only after Du Yi returned, he realized that the person who now lived with the Bians was not the real Bian Jie but someone else. So, Du Yi had only the guts to come back, because he believed Bian Jie came back. As for the real Bian Jie, he probably doesn't know yet that Du Yi came back or maybe he heard that there is a doppelganger and that's why he didn't come back, or maybe he can't come back due to other reasons.
Just because of that I am going to say that it was all a dream! π And then Wang Shitu is woken up by Doudou…
I was wondering about this already as well. What if she does pretend? Or what if the Jin Manfu knows and that's why he gave her the wrong meds? Because he wanted to prevent her from doing something bad?
Just because of that I am going to say that it was all a dream! π And then Wang Shitu is woken up by Doudou…
Oh noes ... nah, I can't imagine that he is the bad one. But I remembered a movie over night. I can't recall its name. In the movie woman was searching for her son. She thought he was kidnapped and mentally unstable. The movie ended with the conclusion, that preiously there had been an accident. She had survived but her son died. She had not been able to accept that and thus she had started to imagine things. If it weren't for how the police and other people who know Bian Jie, I might consider the theory, that Bian Jie doesn't exist at all. But to much happened that wouldn't fit this theory.
Just because of that I am going to say that it was all a dream! π And then Wang Shitu is woken up by Doudou…
It wouldn't really suit this kind a drama either. For Science-Fiction/Fantasy like Drama I guess it would be more likely. But Mystery/Thriller/Drama will probably have a different ending. I'm curious on how things will turn out. It's good if they keep us guessing untill the last episode. :) That what makes good dramas.
So itβs his sister that accidentally hurt the real Bian Jie in 1993, however the ending shown he got away while…
Actually I believe that Qi is Wang Shitu's son. I noticed a few hints in the drama. And I don't think that Qi's behaviour in the beginning was acting - I think he was really confused and overwhelmed when suddenly someone showed up and claimed he is their family. He didn't respond at first and let them have their way. Also his beahvior was completely different from the behaviour of Bian Jie and his ears are different, as Wang Shitu discovered. Thus I think it's safe to assume that Qi is only looking similar but is someone different. Personally I also hope and believe that Qi is Wang Shitu's son. And I also think he deserves a good ending.
