OH I'M ALL OVER THE PLACE RN... Ep 16 is my most favorite so far 😭 I'm getting emotionally invested in this drama and really hope they keep going with these intense background stories about the characters and all. I felt for dfqc and although he's trying ro repress his feelings, his childhood trauma is starting to kick in and get him emotional all the time, that's why he's suddenly so bothered by everything while he could've for e.g kill his brother thousands of years ago, he just never cared about him hating him whatsoever but he's actually starting to care now.
XLH is literally the best girl in the world she's so kind she misses her shifu so bad I'm just falling more and more in love with this woman every passing episode 😭
Also I'm getting even more interested in Jieli's character, life has been tough on her and I totally understand why she cares only about herself. (infp things lol), On the contrary, I was kinda scared to talk about it since everyone seems to love him but I do absolutely NOT care about Chengheng AT ALL, I just find him a plot device to probably throw in some conflict in the romantic part of the story which is one of the tropes I hate lmao ... He doesn't have any personality and his entire existence seems to be a plot device to me . i feel bad for the actor lol I hope he gets to have a better storyline in Kuning palace with Bai lu.

I don't think those are cheap at all...specially for the ones that are body fitting, the designing, wax modeling, mould making and then putting the melted material in those moulds to make the pieces, then all the polishing and coloring...Unless they're 3d printed, those things took LOTS of time and money to make.

Well I wish it goes up to 7 at least...I mean even if we ignore the story the effort put in the production deserves a 7 :(

Check out Iris van herpen's collections please I think that was an inspiration for the custom and headpiece designs in this drama, I personally find them really cool. They also kind of remind me of the flowy strokes in Chinese paintings

Now ppl saying the drama is very different from the novel is worrying me...I don't wanna read the novel rn cause i don't want spoilers but it just usually doesn't go well when they make it too different from the original text

Silent moon palace and Cangyan sea all have middle Eastern/Moroccan inspired architecture and it's very very VERY beautiful but my anxiety kicks in for certain reasons I don't wanna bring up here whenever I see them lol (They were kind of walking on a FINE line taking this aesthetic as their inspiration for designing a devil lord's palace but didn't cross it thankfully)

Dfqc obviously didn't only k!ll his father just to take his place but because he hated him (for abusing him when he was a child ) which I think implies that he was never really completely heartless. This might be me overthinking as always but reminds me of Sartre's "Hell is other people" quote which means people viewing themselves as what others project to them/think of them. He might've never actually been REALLY emotionless (I don't think that absolutely emotionless can actually be a thing even in a fantasy world lol) but the ones around him have told him about it so many times that he started to live the reality others created for him. It'd be nice if the drama actually explores this theme later.
