I know so many people wanted a dramatic war from ep 31 but I really loved how it didn't happen...I don't think that the thrill of watching an epic battle would be nearly as emotionally impactful as the battlefield getting drawn in sunlight and everyone uniting to bow to XLH's floating body...War is bad. war sucks. Everyone knows that but you feel it in your bones when you or your neighbors have been through it or have always been living under the fear of it happening. This drama is about peace and love and I love it. I can't explain the beautiful pain of XLH telling herself she has to bring peace to the world and save all people.

He didn't think nor did he want Orchid to sacrifice herself. He wanted to save both his lover and his people by making a deal with the evil God. "i have another way to save both" refers to that
The thing master Siming said about love not being fate and destiny is a really interesting thing coming from THIS drama because the concept of "love" in the xianxia genre revolving around the "love is fate" theme is a really, REALLY common characteristic of this genre. Most xianxias usually try to prove love is eternal and people who are fated to love will meet and fall in love again even after dying, forgetting e/o and being reborn as other people in other universes and lifetimes while it's the exact opposite for this one lol. I actually like the "fated to love you" ideology for this genre specifically (Not for modern romances and non fantasy stories lmao) because the epic and dramatic aspect of it peaks with that, but it's pretty interesting that CLJ's writers played on it with their own mindset rather than the common xianxia mindset.
There's this feeling when you go back to something remarkable your friend who wasn't your friend when you first saw that thing did that makes you go "OOOoooh this is my bestie but I didn't know i was gonna be besties with them at that time lol"...This is exactly how I'm feeling realizing that one guy in the promotional clip from this drama is actually Chengheng from Cang Lan Jue lmao ...

Lol exactly...It's not just about this drama, I always get mad when I see so many people being mean to characters who do things that are totally understandable for them to do, like PLEASE PUT YOURSELF IN THEIR SHOES lmao. I found out maybe being an infp was the reason recently...But then again, it's about everyone having a different mindset and way of thinking, and again as the most empathetic personality type, I think we can "understand" why they would be mean to those characters again lol.
