tbh It's not a wuxia so they focused more on other things...Even wuxia dramas these days never have the actors actually fight and that's bad but there can't be anything done about it

What rule states that people can't do that and what exactly is wrong with it??? I am always really into analyzing the way female characters (like all of them, not just the mains) are treated in dramas/movies/stories and I gotta say among the historical cdramas I've watched this year, CLJ and TDOS were superior in this category.
Besides from the FLs in these shows being the protagonists of the stories and both really amazing in very different ways, none of these dramas had the sexist tropes media is obsessed with like female rivalry, chick fight, sis tea, 'I hate you cause the man I like likes you' etc...just gals being pals living their pretty girl lives together

This is crazy cause there's already been lots of chekhov's g*n moments like this in the drama that I totally missed and I just keep telling myself to pay more attention to details watching the new episode everytime to not miss them again but get distracted by all the swooning and simping

Btw this director has another drama coming probably soon on youku. It's called falling into you, sports/romance and they had the trailer out a few days ago, I'm really looking forward to it. Gonna check it out since I'm gaining lots of trust in this man 🤧

I also agree about Ling Buyi, Niao2 did the right thing fr...Male characters in dramas do the worst things possible and then come out like "oopsieee i was wrong for that sawrryyy"...Like WHY the hell did you do that in first place when you had plenty of time and space to think about it and simply come to conclusions that it was WRONG

I legit got goosebumps when xlh told dfqc what she wants from him is to respect her choice. Like, THAT everyone, is where you know a female character is written by a woman. WOMEN ARE AMAZING AND WHOLESOME

RH said Chidi's eyes looked really sad the first time he saw her. Wondering if they'll ever give us a glimpse of her story or not...I really hope they do cause I'm just loving how every single character so far has had their backstories revealed, even Danyin and a little bit more about Chengheng today. I so enjoy learning more about the characters cause what they do makes more sense to you when you get to know about what they've been through.

On a side note, I really hope CLJ becomes a turning point for xianxias in general. We are tired of multiple lifetimes misunderstanding blood vomit and constant torture. I need to have a balanced amount of fun and emotional moments, look at pretty mythological characters with pretty colorful clothes be in dreamy places, do epic things, have actual personality, be logical and make reasonable decisions, kiss kiss get tortured a little bit and happily ever after

so true...I've said this lots of time before, it's really as simple, pure, classic and dreamy as old Disney princess/fairytale movies . It'll go down as a nostalgic classic in history, it's such a simple and memorable drama

I don't think Jieli or xunfeng or any of the characters will back stab the mains, they'll probably help them in the end...I'm still not mad at Jieli tbh I know she's gonna regret it soon.
I wonder what's gonna happen to Danyin though, really want her to have a happy ending but my left tit is telling me she's gonna die :(

No rf gods and lords in heavenly realm always act like total losers treating the women they have feelings for like trash cause they care for their "responsibilities" more than love but they're never fulfilling those responsibilities 😭 loads of people die just like that and no one cares
