Basically their love languages are different. XY’s is words of affirmation and actions. What HM lacks is the affirmation of his being sorry and his feelings for her. XY did this very early on when her lies were exposed. She owned her mistakes, apologised to SHM and his family. Told him multiple times that she loved him, that her feelings for him were genuine. But SHM had not done any of those that XY needed to hear from him. Never apologise and share his feelings. As long as HM is not honest and open with her, it’s always be a hurdle in their relationship. They need overcome this ultimate hurdle to be on the same wavelength, to move forward. HM needs to realise that he has been doing it the wrong way. And it looks like that will happen in episode 28.

Not sure if you have watched today’s episode. I don’t think XY gave much thought about what it meant when Mrs. Barakin said that. But when Steve said that, it hit differently. XY has been doubting HM’s intentions whether he helped her out of love or something else. Honestly, her guarded heart started opening for him slowly. Until Steve poisoned her with the idea that what HM did might not be out of love but for benefits to pass the 3 months evaluation. I understand why XY was disappointed, because HM was not honest with her. Never share his feelings. XY needs his words of affirmation, needs him to say it out loud that he’s sorry and he loves her.
Today’s episode is such a setback for HM in winning XY back. XY has given him a big hint that he’s not open and honest enough. That he’s still hiding his feelings. It doesn’t help that XY had to learn about the Mr. Barakin’s 3 months evaluation period from Steve, not from HM himself. This kind of validated XY’s doubts about his love. Like others have pointed out, HM told everyone else that he’s in love with XY but XY herself. He really needs to start with an apology and have an open and honest conversation with XY. If not, they’re not going to go anywhere and far enough.

She did thank him here and there privately. Just not a declaration like she did for JL. I understand why she had to do that since JL is her official investor. I would hope that she can have a private conversation with HM after that celebratory dinner.

Keep watching. It’s less comedic in episode 24. SHM is less childish and making some progress. He’s starting to have a decent conversation with XY, acknowledging his arrogance and that his money and power are not what XY is after.
