from a monetary point of view it makes sense that they added a straight couple to the mix to make it more "palatable"…
"From a monetary point of view, it makes sense that they added a straight couple to the mix to make it more 'palatable' for the general public"

The goal is to generate profit, we know, and it's more practical to cater to the audience who enjoys BL. Watering a BL down for homophobic mainstream audiences isn't a good (or moral) strategy. They're unlikely to watch it anyway. Their brain cells short-circuit at the sight of gay people or characters, so they avoid the genre

Imagine opening a sushi restaurant and dishing out burgers as a main course for economic reasons. How does that make sense? Someone wants a burger, why would they walk into a "sushi" restaurant? At that point, admit you don’t have the guts to commit to BL and fall back on yet another boy-meets-girl storyline

"No one is saying you have to be happy about that"

I wasn’t planning on being happy about it

BL isn’t just about a gay main character, it’s about gay stories taking center stage. If half or most of the screen time shifts to a "straight" story in the next 9 episodes, it's not a BL. Not to me

If you have to keep screaming "it's BL/gay!" from the rooftops, chances are it's not BL or gay
"They couldn’t have done it if the creator had no consent, so if the creator gave their consent, what right do we have to say anything?"

"Consent" isn't a magic wand. It's not like the creator whispered "I give consent" and everyone's mouths were magically zippered shut. People can disagree with the creator and say, "that wasn't the best move"

"... where were you when they completely straightwashed the drama called something like highschool gangster or something?"

I was there. I remember the "High School Return of a Gangster" censorship debacle and how the "creator consented" excuse was used to shut down criticism. You're regurgitating the same excuse. Are you proud to be part of the problem?

"Definitely will continue"Why does your decision to keep watching invalidate others’ concerns?
"... why are you assuming things on your own"

Isn't everyone? You’re assuming I’m starting a fight. I’m assuming you’re not a fan of criticism. Let's both assume a little less

"This is none of my concern"

It's "none of your concern" and you still gave me a lecture. You care more than you let on

"... please keep this page toxicity free"

I have a right to comment and make sure my voice is heard in the middle of this toxic positivity

I know life’s unfair. It's full of ups and downs, and we shouldn’t let mediocrity in storytelling or gay erasure be one of the "downs" or low points in life

"(I am not sure if it's true)"

It's true

I read the manhwa ages ago (and loved it!), and I actually really liked the first ep too!! I've been waiting so…
It’s so "obviously" BL that some people mistake it for a bromance. What a top-tier love story

One episode isn't enough for a firm assessment of the drama as a whole. I'll need to watch more episodes to determine whether it's BL in my book

A side lesbian confession and an "almost" BL confession. Maybe next episodes, the men will "almost" hold hands, and by the finale, we'll get an "almost" relationship

"Almost" doesn’t count, or I'd be swimming in cash from all the almost-promotions I’ve had

Why is there a need for them to add unnecessary straight couple while deleting a second gay couple that is intact…
People are threatened by the rainbow, they try to dull it down with their bland "straight" gray

Tragic. I’ll be sure to mourn the loss of our riveting conversation

Wow, starting strong with the insults, I see. Some of you fans know how to switch into toxic mode at the drop of a hat

"This is a comment section and I shared my feelings and my eagerness to continue watching this series"

You shared your feelings. So did I. That shouldn't send you spiraling

I’m sorry this “critique” is actually unserious. Friends joke all the time like this it was light hearted.…
Jokes that target someone's appearance are lazy

No flames in sight, just a simmering frustration as the straight agenda attempts a hostile takeover of the drama

I did! It's cute! xx
The first episode has nothing to show in terms of growth or emotional development. It's more of a filler than a romance

We don’t need them making out right away. We need tension, and I don't see any

deadass😭😭They watch shit bls everyday and then when they have to watch another they draw the line?? Bffr.…
People have watched some average BLs. That doesn’t mean they signed a contract to endure every straightwashed mess that comes along. Having standards isn’t a crime

yeah and its BL. its too soon that everyone are already deciding it is straight washed just by watching the trailer.…
Why is it okay to decide it's BL/gay from one episode, and not okay to decide it's straightwashed from the trailer?

They scrapped the storyline of the second gay couple and inserted a "straight" one absent in the source material in its stead. That solidifies the case for straightwashing

Skipping the straight bit already~ it's easier to do it in video than when reading the manhwa
The manhwa doesn't depict "straight" or non-platonic interactions between Chan Young and Ji Yu, or are you referring to something else?

They looked at the source material and thought, "what if the story and the characters were unrecognizable and lost everything that made them special?" They removed the messy hair, the gay self-discovery, the gay parents, the second gay couple, the brightness

This isn't an adaptation, it's a slow, painful character assassination

You have the right to care and call out audience manipulation and cash grabs
