Those who see love through rose-colored glasses are more susceptible to staying in unhealthy or abusive relationships. To them, "love is pure." They're unwilling to acknowledge the negative parts of love or their partner's behavior

Recognizing that love can be obsessive, codependent, or destructive doesn’t ruin love, it makes people smarter about it

"This drama is one of the most unrealistic things I've ever seen"

It's not the most outlandish thing out there, there are plenty of other dramas (supernatural, fantasy, etc) that stretch the limits of plausibility to the breaking point

Let's assume that the story is unrealistic. It'd be unreasonable to expect the characters to adhere to real-world morals and laws. They're operating within a fictional setting with its own set of rules and expectations

"Why does it matter when this account was created?"

Someone, out of nowhere and with a brand-new account, starts "calling out the echo chamber." I'd be suspicious and question, are they looking to stir the pot?

"It's weird that you even looked into that"

It’s weird to check publicly available information, and not weird to barge into a comment section to belittle others and act intellectually superior?

A drunk kiss isn't equivalent to assault. The nuances of the situation matter, the level of intoxication, the context, and the relationship between the people. That both of the men have feelings for each other complicates the situation

I wouldn't judge something that happens to me or someone I know more harshly. That’d be admitting to emotional bias

A lapse in judgment is a lapse in judgement, whether I’m watching it unfold or living it. We have courts and not just people yelling, "if it were me, I’d be furious!" for that reason

Why should every story fit within a neat, digestible formula for your comfort?

That’s how storytelling works. Fiction reflects reality, sometimes the messy, problematic, or uncomfortable parts of it. If we only adapted things that were 100% moral in your opinion, every adaptation would be about tax-paying citizens following the speed limit

The reality of "love" is far from the idealized, fictional version you describe. "Love" is imperfect. It triggers the same brain regions as addiction, and it's not uncommon for people to make bad decisions in its name

Your brain doesn’t care about "purity," it wants more of that sweet, sweet chemical cocktail

He didn't "take advantage of" Da On

Compressing over 100 chapters into 8 episodes means that the relationship development and plot progression will feel rushed compared to the source material. This isn't an issue specific to this adaptation, it's a common issue with adaptations in general

Seong Hyeon's pursuit wasn't romantic at first. He wanted to compensate Da On for the damage he caused to the watch and rectify the situation

That anonymous person went through the trouble of creating an account yesterday to bash these fictional characters. Talk about an interesting use of time and energy

Homophobes aren't known for their level-headed reactions to surprises, are they?

Though well-intentioned and deserving of respect, exposing homophobes to gay stories they weren't expecting will escalate to an eruption of hostility. And amidst the escalating homophobia these days, a better approach is to be upfront about the content, letting homophobes know what they'll get into and giving them the opportunity to sidestep gay stories to spare us from an ugly scene (their ugly personalities)

Homophobes get hot and bothered over a side gay character when they’re warned ahead of time in teasers or trailers. Hit them with two main gay characters out of the blue and it'll be career suicide, I tell you. Not featuring the gay couple in the teaser or trailer will attract more homophobic reactions

And I completely disagree, now what?

They started off by lashing out with personal attacks and calling us "emotionally stupid." That tells me everything I need to know about their character. They're projecting their inadequacies onto us
