My heart really hurts for Joe. Sometimes I want to lay a good punch on Ming followed by a steel toed kick to the family jewels, other times I really want to hug Ming for the pain he is in...but most of the time I just want to beat on him. Poor Joe is so much like a sweet puppy who is constantly getting kicked by Ming.
At the same time, I really love this series and the next episode can't come fast enough.

I totally agree. Li Zan fought for their love as long as he could before the harsh realities of war became a psychological bomb that he couldn't defuse. The fact that Song Ran died just a few years after Li Zan, I think also helped make the ending just a little bit less bitter and a little bit more sweet. Song Ran went back to being a war correspondent after Li Zan's death and died doing the job that brought them both together. It was a very bitter sweet ending.
The ending nearly had me fooled until I got to that third preface. I actually had to reread that line about Li Zan's death because I thought I had misread it. Then I had to reread the entire paragraph about Song Ran's death because I thought I had misread that too through my curtain of tears.
The drama really, really needs to remain true to the novel ending. I am all for happy endings, but this is one time where I wish that a drama keeps the sad ending of the novel exactly as it was written.
So, I have finished reading the novel. I really hope that the drama will do the novel justice and remain true to the novel's ending, as sad as it may be.
If you are looking for a happy ending, then don't read the epilogue, or more acurately, don't read the third preface of the 18 year anniversary in the epilogue. If you want to experience the novel in all it's sad and true-to-life reality, then read the epilgue in its entirety.
The last couple chapters and the epilgue of the novel paint a very vivid picture of the harsh reality of living with and living with someone who suffers from severe PTSD. The realities of the aftermath of war are painted in a realistic and vivid picture. It paints a very realistic picture of those who come back from war with extremely damaged and fragile mental states. It tells the story of the internal and external struggle to continue going, to remain in reality as much as possible before the memory of all the horrors seen and experienced suck the sufferer back into a hellish nightmare.
The ending may be heartbreaking, but it is a painful reminder of the reality that so many men and women who have returned from nightmarish war zones have experienced and are still experiencing.
I truly hope that the drama can do this novel justice and remain true to the novel's realistic ending.
Oooh, this looks like such a good series. I was wondering how PavelPooh were going to top PitBabe, and this show looks perfect for them. It would be awesome if they could air it around Halloween.
Well, that was a total waste of time. The editing, camera angles, the dubbing, and the fact that the female lead actress barely opens her mouth when she speaks made this drama super hard to watch. The dubbing wouldn't have been that bad except for the female lead actress making it look like she is only mumbling her lines most of the time instead of properly pronouncing them so that they would line up with the lines spoken by the voice actor. This drama was a mess.
Hopefully, in the next couple of weeks, they will upload the special episode to YouTube.
