grt idea, I couldn't finish it but hope u have fun!

i get where you're coming from, other than ending and editing (this might have to do with the fact that 18 episode being cut out) this series was pretty decent and well made. FL character could be one of my fav heroine form c drama, so smart, level headed and goal oriented. I'm just sad that they messed up what could've been grt because of the ending.

i'm not disagreeing with you, editing was terrible. im just saying that is largely due to the fact they have to cut 1/3 out.

true their death didn't really change anything and looked super forced... good didnt win either... it was mediocre ending at best.

try other shows maybe? lighthearted one this time.

breakaway s*x scene was fairly important since it kinda repeats in the last episodes and they use that part for thinking back but other than that I agree. Overall about 1/3 of latter episodes were not so great anyways

yes they should've had a HE if more so if they had to cut so many scenes... why just kill them off with so much plot holes?

I'm pretty sure producers "intended" for bad ending tho? saying it is happy ending is just our hopeful thinking now, isn't it?

yes. choice my as*! it was just poorly plotted with a lot of plot holes and demises of leads, message of "choice" is all due to cover for it.

I heard like 18 episodes were cut and that's probably why (all the more reason to have normal HE tho..) I'm not even sure why. Maybe due to the chinese regulations? I'm not chinese so I don't really know why.

for some people ending is a closure, what they get out of watching the whole show (even more so if series is very long) and it is reasonable to drop rating according to the ending. I mean giving it a 1.0 or something like that is pure hate but giving it minus 1 to 3 points is reasonable. In the end opening and ending is what makes the drama the most. Ending is the completion. that's why drama like lovers in paris, reborn rich, and something happened in bali got so bad reviews even tho most of the part was pretty decent. Ending has the biggest impact.

true and that choice was much of a "choice" as do you want to get stabbed or be hanged kinda decision. it was not a choice at all in any aspect lol.. just poorly plotted forceful death in disguise. Ending sucked.

so true. choose what? lol it was forced choice at best and good didn't even prevail from it. it was mediocre outcome at best even tho both leads got killed (i reject to say they "chose" to die) for it.

the worst part is that SE didn't even make that much sense anyways. If the HAD to die there's that but this SE feels really forced and was purely executed, really unnecessary.

I feel like this so much, I mean SE I can understand but what did their sacrifice accomplish? Did the good really prevail? not imo. It just feels like whole empty ending.

true, I don't mind sad endings that much if executed well and if it is really needed, but it was really not either of the case. the degree felt like it was somewhat forced. I think novel ending was better because it had balanced the whole plot out but now this feels excessive. ML and FL dying I can handle, but it felt like their death didn't really complete much. it didn't feel like the good actually prevailed or something like that, it just felt like they had to kill them off to make an ending or a point. It didn't feel wholesome at all.

I'm calm and introverted person who enjoys quietness, but I think even sad drama needs to have ups and downs, this drama felt like down-down-down-down all the way. If the ending was gonna be sad, it should've been at least an open sad ending, this was sad and badly executed too. If felt like it was cut short or somewhat, lacked a lot of storyline and likelihood. I get they are star-crossed lovers who are destined not to have a happy ending, but it feels really simplified. It feels like all the buildup was just that, nothing more. Even sad dramas tend to have a lot of build ups for the ending, shows a happiness and comedy inside it somehow. This was well made that's for sure but sad-sad-sad-sad drama. I wouldn't recommend unless they can handle it. It feels really heavy and HE or an somewhat of a SE open ending (them meeting again in another lifetime or whatever) would've made the balance imo.

I have a mixed feeling about this series.

wow I like Yang rong and was pleasantly surprised to see her here.. I guess I have to see this through now for her and ML's sake

To people who are worrying about Yeon-Hongjoo's loveline, I'm thinking Hongjoo character doesn't really "like" Yeon if you know what I mean. She just wants to possess him since she can't have him (which will certainly fade quickly if she actually had him) , and even that dynamic won't stay for a long time I think. She will have her own issues, romantic entanglements. There is so much to her character, hence the ending of ep2 and ep3 trailer of her "backstory" scenes. She will be so much than -her whole life's purpose is chasing ML- kind of a character, and she won't be that "one hearted" romantic sml kinda character either. She will certainly be busy pursuing other priorities. They didn't really promote her character as "loving yeon" character like they do with SML characters at TVN either. (they wrote her down as Yeon's "frienmy") Even if she continues to pursue ML, it will be just like a simple background setting, and it won't be like lovelines in other romantic series.
