i genuinely want to ask you guys. if you watch a drama that you don't like or simply it just not to your taste…
Aww I appreciate you writing all that out. I’m just like you. When I’m not interested in a drama, I stop watching and no longer the interest to write about it either. Because different people have different taste, I would never want to rain on their parade. But I think people like to share their reviews and thoughts as a form of entertainment in itself. They are sort of like drama critics.
Positive people will spread positivity, negative people would spread negativity. I agree with you, if I don't…
I understand your point totally. On the contrary, this drama is pretty realistic and absolutely what some real people do 😅But yeah I agree with you that I watch dramas for entertainment.
I wish this drama was as bright as the cover. I really can't get into the story because I don't like the cinema…
The cinematography, the snowy setting, and the tone is exactly what I love most. For me, it adds the feel to the romance of life on top of the romance of love. It’s much more beautiful to watch than the light/bright face filters and filming style. I understand that there’s quite a contrast and not everyone loves this kind of slight melancholy setting. It’s definitely a matter of taste and preference. I also love the minimal make-up, the wardrobes, and all the food scenes 😌
The backdrop of this drama was in 1990s, but they made me feel like it was in a very old era - like a few more…
It’s the style of the director. Everything looks beautiful, perfect and nostalgic. If you’re not familiar with him, he did the ever so famous movies ‘Chungking Express’ and ‘In the Mood for Love’
does anyone know what starfish/long bow symbolises? i'm confused because right after they were in the pool ZJ…
I think the starfish symbolizes her inner self. She said humans are like the sea. Perhaps there’s a starfish waiting for someone to find it. No one knows what’s at the bottom of the sea. Some people don’t want to go and some are afraid to go see.
Long bow is two characters in Chinese that if you reverse and combine them, it becomes the character Zhang. She was expressing that he was on her mind.
The way they wrote MX as a character in this drama was fantastic, and the chemistry and love between MX and WJG…
The only love story I cared about in this drama was MX and WJG. She freely fell in love with him and insisted on it. He thought he couldn’t love her back due to his war duty, but he did anyway. Their romance were all the small things they shared; the little food they had, the plot of escaping, the lantern, the grief. Then for WJG came the reunion, the obstacle of life decisions, their departure, the failed rescue plots, the anger and frustration. All the emotions were written on his face. I thought the actor did a good job because in the end I was still very much in love with the character.
Just finished binge watching this...wow, the craziness. It starts out with Duan Ruo Nan doing a video proposing…
I watched the whole thing too. It was sooooooo crazy! I admire how you didn’t miss anything. You wrote the entire show down 😅 All I remember after watching was the FL’s outfit with those crazy cut out puffy sleeves which were just as crazy as the show.

1. Him shooting the arrow to win the lamp for Moxi.
2. When they were embracing with her holding sticks of bbq meat.
3. The little tears on his face when they broke up.
4. And then cutting his hand to write with his blood was the ultimate 3 minute scene for me 🔥
- the scream of triumph at the badminton match
- every son and dad meals on their patio
- all the scenes at the little wig store
- SSC taking off the hoodie during the make out scene
- SSC crying in the hospital about not able to play tennis again
