Title Dear X
kim youngdae's acting has improved a lot in this drama! good to see
Something about Kim Young Dae for me is that he always to be acting. What I mean is that his characters do not seem natural to me. Like when you watch a character and you can't tell from the actor. Kim Young Dae doesn't do that for me. His speech and even his gaze looks to me like 'yeah I am acting'.
Note, I haven't watched this particular piece yet. I am deducing this from his previous works. As you can see I am not exactly excited to watch this even though I rate Kim You Jung.

the new guy is so cute, i think being raised in china made him the man he is right now lol, the other guys are…
Let's rephrase that, you want a proactive man because you are usually the passive one. End of story. No shame in that though. Thats what works for you.

I am going to ask a very stupid question, what more do you guys need to talk? I mean if you guys were to get back…
Please, let's think about this logically. You broke up with someone and you're joining a show. Are you using that show to get back together. Stop thinking of the people on the show as storybook characters but as real people like you and me.
Its literally in the name. Its EXchange. Meaning changing from the ex. And I mean moving on. I think you're twisting the real intention of the show. Its not about trying to mend what you guys had with your ex. I mean you are not restricted to do that. But its not exes retreat center. Otherwise when people join the show they should have been straightforward about who is their ex.
However, you can see the show prioritizing meeting new people than getting back with an ex. The dates with an ex also happens towards the end of the show too.
Also, reading your comment feels like you are insinuating partial break up. No, people should take accountability when you decide to break up with someone. When you break up that goes with the possibility of reuniting. You killed what you guys had so its a little bit too late for all that.
You're right. There's no rule restricting the exes to talk as long as they keep it secret for the sake of other members. But an ex has the right to not want it instead of being called avoidant. I mean you guys are already over so you're both not entitled to each others time. You must respect their wish too instead of labelling them names. You calling him avoidant makes it seem he's romantically involved with her and he's avoiding his responsibility to make things work with her. The relationship already failed.

So Butler Choi and the that driver would do anything and everything for money? I'm actually baffled how can someone…
And in the end what she got was that she gets to pretend to be like Kim Yeong Ran to get a rich lonely man. She stole a lot and helped the enemy to gain advantage over the protagonists. She literally caused the chairman to die. But that's what the chairman wanted to end everything quickly. So as much as she caused his death, the chairman planned it out that way. But such individuals shouldn't get to just walk away.

I wasn’t exactly taking Minkyung side all this time, but Yooshik is aggressively avoidant. Like damn, just have…
I am going to ask a very stupid question, what more do you guys need to talk? I mean if you guys were to get back together, you would have done it before the show. Are you coming to the show to seek closure? Because that would make sense (but could have been done outside the show too). Okay, she's been asking him out all this time but yet I don't see her say anything that is conclusive. The meaningful conversation they had was about how he drinks, acting 'domesticated' and staying up late with others, which she faults him and she said finds him annoying. And in return he said he is her ex so she shouldn't mind him.
I really don't get it. You call Yoosik avoidant which is partially true. But then again whats there to discuss? Are we discussing to get back together or move on? I mean you guys are not actually coming to the show to break up because you already did. So, the outcome was pretty much decided already.
Also, the nagging doesn't help. He's not your person anymore so you can't just talk to them as you please. You must speak like you respect them as a person because you are no longer entitled.
I don't think Minkyung is a bad person or even mean. She is not some evil person who everyone has to hate. She in fact has her own good sides. I only fault her in the way she speaks or summons Yooshik. Its as if you guys are in a relationship. For example, I can be commanding to my brother just because he's my sibling and I am older. But in their case, you lost that right when you guys broke up. So, you can only approach them respectfully.

How many episodes will release this week?
Unless its communicated always expect 1 episode every week. The only share 2 ep at the beginning and towards the end to get the viewers hooked.

I’m on episode 8 and this Ma Jin guy is making me so angry. But what I think is worse is that Tae Poong isn’t…
I don't think Tae Poong did nothing though. He went to her and tell her that she as competent as anyone else. You don't remember him asking her why he lets him treat her as he does? Tae Poong asks her if she allows it because she thinks she's not as good. He then reassures her that she's as good. I think this was more of her fight. He knows how good Miseon is and she's strong enough to stand up for herself. And he gave her all the support she needed including coming to the trip, which she felt she shouldn't because she was initially discouraged. Instead of a hero, I think gaining support is more meaningful as it allows one to discover their strength.

Also, from Ma Jin's POV is that he thinks he is protecting her. Ma Jin thinks the world is unjust to women and he thinks she would only get hurt if she is not involved. Also, he thinks people will judge them if they have a woman on their team. He just has that old way of thinking. For example, he thinks giving someone some cash will soften their heart and its good for business. He is just doing what he thinks is good but have the opposite effect, causing harm.

Wonkyu is a almost a middle age ajusshi if he didn't like it he would say no . i don't jiyeon doing much honestly…
But I bet sometimes you struggle with saying no too. And I mean not dating only. C'mon we all do.

I believe you are old enough too. Can you say 'no' under all situations? The situation is not posing a threat to him and saying no can hurt someone's feelings given the setting they're in. So yeah until the final decision, he really can't say no. Its a jerk move. Everyone in the house is given a chance to express themselves in their own way. I think he understands this. Assuming everyone would say no to a potential date, the pool only gets smaller. Its not like they could look for dates outside the show. They only have each other.

Boring because you feel like its pretty much one sided. You would have loved if Yoo Sik approached more. Thats why you like Jaehyung.

I don't understand the narrative about Baekhyung being a red flag! On the other hand It's Hyun ji who's behaviour…
I just think she's lonely. Nothing is happening for her as she would want. Like the dates and messages. No one is reciprocating her efforts. So, she may feel down and unfortunately may need to take it out on someone.

Also its sus how hyeonji saying she had no idea he is an actor now ?? I mean she was the one who contacted him…
Well, you guys are not exactly friends to start catching up. Also, he's not exactly a well established actor. He's like testing waters. None of his works are even known. I would say Ji Hyeon has more well known works than him.
You really don't understand the concept of you guys being exes, do you? Like you care for that person but still not. You are not exactly looking to rekindle the old flame for you to start poking what they've been upto. Also, they are in contact 2 weeks before they move in. And its only in their meeting. In some cases, its the production who contacts the exes after getting the contact info. And they sign NDA which means they don't talk before the show and until it finishes airing to keep the process genuine.
I thought this was made clear since the beginning of the show that everyone knows.

genuinely what is the point of the dont tell who your ex is rule if theyre going to make it sooooo obvious lol.…
Its also your duty to act like you don't know just as much as you need to make people believe you guys are not exes.😂So you like cover up for each other. If you guys show that you already have it figured out who is whose ex then the whole experiment is over. You're supposed to act like you don't know so that you can approach anyone without being considerate about who is whose.

But isn't it funny we know who is whose ex and then we get to see the struggles they have to make to hide😂I personally liked how Woojin had to literally go to his room just to think of a lie so that he won't be caught.
On EXchange Season 4 Nov 7, 2025
Seeing how the chats is so lively tells you that the show achieved its purpose. It has led to a lot of engagement among the viewers. Whether you like someone from the show or not. That tells you why this show remains to be the peak dating show even in some seasons when people don't rate it. It always draws in the viewers whether positively or negatively.

Well, you can just skip his scenes. At this point you're asking for it if it keeps happening every episode.

I just think most of us are judging them like storybook characters and not as human beings with complex emotions…
I really agree. That's just one side we get to see and its because they're in that situation. A person has many sides. You might be the kindest person in the world. But if I put you in a situation where your emotionally strained and everything looks like a test, I can't get to see the best side of you.
But I understand the hate people are throwing though. They seem to think that the worst side I see of you is your true side. Like its your 'true colors'. Its never your true colors when you are kind and sweet but it is when you are mean and broken.
Replying to Dreamy Nov 6, 2025
Tbh I don't get the hate for YS at all, I feel like watching a different show, lol.Haven't watched this week's…
I just think most of us are judging them like storybook characters and not as human beings with complex emotions and thoughts. Its easy to throw words and hate until you're put in the exact same situation they are. You might find them as angels than you are. For example, when I love someone, I am all in. Nothing but them. But when we break up, I am the meanest person around. Its as if I want them to feel the pain I would be feeling. Not like a pre-meditated revenge intention. Its just that my feelings are either sweet or sour. So I avoid my exes especially if it was a bad break-up. Because I know they just have a way to bring out the worst in me.
I am sharing that example just to say the casts are actually better people. They are doing their best given the situation. You would think the way people throw hate online that they're actually good people in real life. No, we're not. Most of the casts represent the vast majority of us.
