No he was Not. The Story started with Park Jin and Songrim mages fighting with Naksu which was 20 years later from the very first opening scene of Jang Gang Killing the soul shifter. Uk was also born in that first timeline through the AOS so he was either 21 or 22 when we first saw him . Korean babies are 1 year old on the day they’re born.

IT WAS written on the TV screen 20 Years later as the camera pans to Naksu and Songrim men
Also it was stated from the very first episodes that Jang Gang had been gone for 20 years , presumably looking for Cho Chung’s daughter Cho Yeong aka Naksu. So it’s impossible for Uk to be under 21 At the first episode.

It’s age rated 15 onwards like most adult films do, Naksu is nearly 30 by episode 10 of part 2. They’re not kids at all , the youngest is Jin Cho -Yeon

Isn’t Uk 21-22years old when we first met him?
Does young adults go to high schools in S.Korea?
In The U.K 20 year olds are either working or going to University,
They finish High school at 16 years old, then go on to college until they’re 18-19.

When we first met Naksu she was around 24-25 years old which means in part 2 she’s 27-28 years old and Uk is 24-25 and by episode 10 he’s 25-26 and Naksu is 28 or 29 years old .

Exactly my friend, the industry is pretty competitive and corrupted, so many talented people never truly make it and it’s worst now especially in S.Korea as they’ve set a specific standard of how the stars should look, so many horrible videos circulating how how extreme these young people have to train in order to look a certain way, I saw a video of how these agencies are starving some of these kids, even one guy that supposed to be in BTS that trained and lived with the rest of the boys was suddenly dropped as apparently he didn’t have a certain look, it’s pretty sad, all this obsession to have big eyes to look more European is so sad šŸ˜ž
Those things are hindering a lot of actors too .😭
It’s looks over talent nowadays.

I wanted to add that modelling is very popular and frequent in S.Korea also so getting ads is not something special to celebrities because a lot of non celebrities are models there, even international citizens. I watch a lot of regular people that lives in Korea and they’re all models on the side lol, even international teachers are modelling and
promoting brands from skin care( most popular) to clothing brands especially international owned brands.
It’s the bigger endorsements that really matters tbh brands like prada, Balenciaga, Adidas etc is not so exclusive as they are easily affordable brands when they get deals like Porsche, Bentley etc then they’re laughing, those are the brands that really pay out and gain real status from as only a certain percentage actually buy these brands but everyone owns Gucci, prada etc not everyone owns Hermes though.certain people skip brands like Gucci nowadays as it’s so common. It’s a crazy world Chingu but I’m wishing our actors the best and hoping they save well because they only get a small amount of amount the money they’re offered, their managers and the crew in charge gets most of it, they don’t really tell us that fact though, a lot of the celebrities live on consignment deals, especially idol groups, they often share a house that’s loaned to them most the cars and the jewellery are on consignment so as soon as they get paid and all these things are paid for and the staff ( huge) all gets paid they barely have anything left that’s why a lot of stars suffer depression after the work slows down or disappears.

Not all idols babe, but yes I’m some ways because more people listen to music than Tv watchers tbh, however they’re loads of idols that doesn’t get Bligh brand ads as some brands are specific in what groups they target, example a certain type of music a idol or let’s say music entertainers do may attract a certain type of people or age group so those things are taken into consideration, my sister works in Film industry, she just finished her studies in Media and I use to work as a fashion stylist, I’ve worked at London fashion week a few times as a stylist for upcoming fashion designers and brand companies. This is something I have first hand experience and knowledge in, studied fashion merchandising and marketing At London college of Fashion, advertising is part of my studies so I’m not guessing or assuming how advertising brands work. I decided to give it up and now in my intern year working as a behavioural analyst in psychology, my mother is a psychiatric Nurse and I’ve always been curious about how the mind works and the behaviours we display in our daily lives. This is not me trying to brag or anything of that nature but I wanted to explain that I understand the industry to a certain degree based off my experience working in the fashion industry.

Watch this video of Micky Lee is he explained how it all works in her international acceptance speech.

Also this is the actor on actor interview/ talk between Sandra Oh and Jung Hyeon( squid game) it gives an interesting insight of how difficult it is for Korean shows to be award worthy in the states( Hollywood) the birth place of Stardom.

Well it must be her I can’t remember as I only saw it on YouTube, I don’t follow K-pop but I remember it’s one of the many members that got chosen and I only mentioned to explain my point of how endorsements and how different roles matter in branding and advertising using celebrities that are trending or mostly, how the brand is represented ( big and timeless name
brands such as Louis Vuitton and Channel are more timeless brands, especially lV that never lower their prices no matter what sales are going on, brands like Hermes that don’t frequently use celebrities store advertise is especially hard to come by for actors)

Yes but also take into consideration that Korean dramas are not there internationally as yet, when I say international I don’t mean that the shows are not showing abroad I
mean they
are not recognised
as award
worthy
abroad
mainly
Hollywood,
please bear
with me I’ll
find the
lady that is
the bridge
between
Korea and
Hollywood,
she got an
achieveme
nt award
for helping
the shows
that made
it like
Parasite ,
Squid
Game and
Vincenzo. I
will post it
in your
messages
or here, I
just need
to speak to
my friend
in
messages
about the
Glory so I’ll
find it and
share it
with you, it
gives a
much
better
understand
ing of how
Korean
dramas
work
abroad, I
learned a
lot from it.
They made
a deal of a
specific
amount of
content to
be worthy
each year
and I think
it’s 1 show
per year
also it’s
worth
watching
the talk
with
Sandra Oh(
killing Eve
and Greys
Anatomy)
and the
Model,
now
actress
from Squid
Game, it’s
such an
interesting
interview .also keep in mind that she was LV’s Muse way before Squid Game and was already internationally known but that also helped because her face was already on billboards in Hollywood for Louis Vuitton. It’s not an easy thing, even for the KPop idols , I think only 1 member( I think Jennie?) managed to get the deal as ambassador for either LV or channel I can’t even remember but she’s the most popular in the group it’s sad but it’s the way it works, so much politics involved, that’s why I say GYJ not socialising is not so good for her career, people love role models, we love to see what celebrities are wearing on normal days, going out etc, that’s why BTS is sooo big because they constantly share their everyday life activities especially in the first few years, people feel like they’re part of their families, they get invited to big brands fashion shows worldwide not just fashion weeks in Korea, anyone can go to fashion week as long as you can afford to buy a ticket but being invited and styled specifically for the collection being showcased is a different matter, eg The FL from The Glory (?im terrible with names) got invited to Chanel fashion show in Paris which means all travel expenses were paid by Chanel.🄰see you in a little while with the videos I mentioned above 🄰

No JSM would not be without offers as she also did Wolf project hunting so some endorsements should be in the pipeline as well because they went international with that even though it wasn’t so successful it seems. JSM also has that fairytale film coming soon and I imagine she’s about to get some really good endorsements.
When it comes to GYJ, she is sign to a modelling agency so paid sponsorship is their forte tbh, The Elle magazine shoot came with AOS 2 package through the show’s production team department as well as any other magazine shoot that focuses their interview about the show. So far I believe Elle is the only one that GYJ did on behalf of AOS everything else is through her agency and from her new upcoming Disney project as well and Hunt because that was same time period as AOS so she had a lot.

LJW had quite a lot of paid sponsors before AOS tbf, he had contracts since he did his other shows plus he is also listed as a model so he goes directly for modeling jobs also example his LancƓme ad, that is independent and has nothing to do with any shows

Almost every single series I watched so far , I see the main actors doing photo shoots and ads especially if they’re young and attractive and started to gain a following, as these brands also rely on celebrities to help promote their brands it keeps the brand afloat ( Top tier) and it goes hand in hand.
Can you think of an actor or actress that’s not getting paid sponsorship deals atm that stars in K Dramas recently, if you do please share.
Also do you notice that all the brands they are advertising is only the Korean based parts of these brands, like for example Elle Korea not the international versions of these brands as yet,

LJW was the Main cast so naturally he gets more endorsements than the others but he was on his way there already, if AOS was more serious he’d be laughing so loud now because he’d be even more sought after, but he’s doing well, he’s even the face of Korean Tourism but LJW’s agency really go hard for their clients and also LJW is smart by interacting with his fans directly ( self promotion) which is a very smart way to show that you’re relatable .

They would No matter what they acted in tbh,
GYJ got the role for moving around the same time as AOS so AOS hasn’t gotten her anything so far, it’s actually her previous roles same with JSM, she was in the process of switching agencies at the same time she agreed to fill in for the actress that suddenly dropped out, the new agency had projects already lined up for her so nothing so far has anything to do with AOS all the AD promotions comes as packages for all lead actors in a series, it seems as it’s part of the deal for shows in Korea after awhile some brands will choose specific actors to be the face of their brand, ( Ambassador)hopefully they’ll get that opportunity from a
Huge brand like LV or
Channel , that’s not easy to come by.

I still think it was a big unfairness to Go Youn Jung. They literally changed the actress, created prejudice and…
I actually agree with what you’re saying here. I too believe that part 2 failed to showcase her talents and derailed from her actual arc, the director also failed big time because too many people are left confused as what or who her actual character was. So many people think she played Jin Buyeon when she didn’t, it was only the name that was used but never the personality so I blame the director once again for not being able to show that difference. Same with part 1, they had Uk calling her Mudeok when they were alone even though he knew who she really was and it caused a lot of unnecessary confusion to the audience.

They also did it with Jin Buyeon/Seol Ran.
They had her referring to herself as a third person in part2 episode 10 when she spoke to Jang Uk. It came across as if it was another soul that we hadn’t heard of when she Said ā€˜Buyeon is the name I was given when I reborned , and just like Seol Ran helped master Seo Gyeong I will help you’ Seol-Ran sounds like someone else and she made it clear that she’s also not Jin Buyeon as it’s only a name she was given by Buyeon’s mother.
I don’t care but the whole show was a mess if I’m gonna be honest because part 1 also had a lot of flaws and part 2 continued those flaws and created deeper plot holes šŸ•³ļø.

If you’re content why even bother to mention you don’t normally like when they switch actors when in this series it’s not the case?

I guess I’m just confused at your point and I could understand and totally agree if she wasn’t the original Naksu in part 1.

It’s the original actress initials .
The point is it’s really a FL switch because the original character switched her soul into another body in the first episode and her soul is still active so it’s only right for her to have her back again. Don’t you agree?

Exactly, it’s clearly a GYJ hater because talking about change in character doesn’t even fall in this category as GYJ was always the original actress that played Naksu. People are so weird, honestly
