I noticed the same contrast with Naksu. It just made GYJ not believeable as the real Naksu even when she starts…
I disagree, when she spoke in her first appearance in part 1 I got that aura from her in part 2 . So min failed to portray Cho Yeong and Naksu but she did excellent with playing Mudeok which was never Cho Yeong or Naksu,
There was no way for her to stand out as Naksu in Part Two because firstly that identity is gone and done with, secondly she wasn’t wearing the same makeup and she wasn’t in the same situation.
When she met with Uk and says she’s pretty it’s the same as part 1 with Park Jin and Co but the atmosphere was different so it’s a slightly different look and as I said Makeup plays a huge part because the makeup enhances fierceness in her character at that time.

A woman acts differently when wearing red lipstick from wearing no lipstick, same with shoes, you see a different side to a woman wearing sneakers from wearing a red stiletto šŸ‘ .
These things play a huge role in the making of a character.

This is what I liked most about the ending:Crown Prince being the king without that paper gold crown.
šŸ™ŒšŸ¼šŸ¢ best thing ever, I hated that stupid paper looking crown so much.

I agree, season one was way better than season two. As for the second season, I regret to seeing it. Totally not…
Yes we get different vibes from different characters I guess šŸ˜…
I totally got fed up of FL in part 1 I found the character a bit Forced and too gimmicky at times and as I said she had no romantic chemistry towards the Ml at all( well for me).
When we were first introduced to the Main FL GYJ , I didn’t feel the Aura ( presence) in the character through So Min at all and I kept hoping the original character would come soon so for me , based on the presence of Naksu I personally thought So Min didn’t portray her well ( as herself) she was brilliant of playing the pretentiousness Mudeok, in fact she was perfect but when it came to the calmness I thought she lacked there especially seeing the original character back in her role. And her kissing scenes were free and natural, with Part 1 I found it very forced and lack that chemistry.
Remember So Min was supposed to be playing the part of a person that we saw briefly as she is the original Cho Yeong/Naksu so GYJ didn’t need to try to match So Min because it’s her role to be Naksu/Cho Yeong and she’s not Mudeok at all. That was just a hideout for her soul šŸ˜€

So Jin Bu Yeon and Naksu are still in the same body? Her eyes Lit up at the end.. what was that about?
Yeah, but it was also explained that the blue mark appeared in the eye because the person was blind so the mark allows Naksu to see, Naksu had a blue mark on her body when she left her body. In fact the blue mark got mixed up from part 1 and I don’t even have the energy to go into that blue mark lol.
A good written consistent spin off would be good though.😜

I doubt that JSM would want a reunion unless the plot is about her. I would not be interested if she being a supporting…
Bigger actors and actresses do it it’s called team work šŸ˜‚

i was right about Matriarch Jin's redemption, she finally accepted Cho Yeong as Jin Bu Yeon and as her daughter
She did not lol. She calls her that girl and she accepted that Jin Buyeon ( her daughter) did not come back to life in her womb, she knows and accepts that it was JSR all along

The blue marks should not have shown tbh. I think they did that at the end purposely to have the speculations going after the show finished, it also leaves the door open should incase Hong Sisters and the main lead’s decides to do a spin-off as their characters.šŸ˜…

Despite how much I loved the first few episodes of Part 2 because I’m a sucker for FLUFF, now that Part 2 is…
I understand how you feel and I respect your opinions,.
For me , I must say I saw moments of part 1 Fl character in Part 2 FL character, there were brief moments where ( so Min) played the humble Cho Yeon with Uk, eg When they spoke (Uk&Mudeok) whilst deciding for Uk to follow her to Give Jin Mu the honey Biscuits also in episode 20 when she spoke to Yul about letting go of her and also to CP( for a brief moment) saying goodbye. The problem is they kept So Min too long in Mudeok’s pretence character, she was sometimes still pretending even when she was alone with Uk, she didn’t change to her softer side even when it was necessary.
Personally I didn’t feel any romantic chemistry from FL towards Uk whatsoever , she actually had a better chemistry with Yul( romance wise)
The Kissing scenes between so Min and JW was stiff and for me very uncomfortable, there was no spark in her response.

My understanding is that because Yeong/Naksu had lost her memories of being Naksu and Mudeok it would’ve been unrealistic to show the personalities we got use to in part 2 because our experiences is what actually shapes our personalities and she is now a blank slate, no prior experiences that shaped her before.
I believe Uk fell in love with Mudeok/Naksu for several reasons back then, 1 being, he was for the first time even without power a protector, he felt worthy, 2 she understood him when others around didn’t, that’s important to him, she risked her life for him ( he’s attracted to fearlessness, especially in a female) I don’t believe it was her bubbly personality or anything like that it was the fact he felt strong even when he wasn’t, she needed him and he needed her.

Uk is not attracted to girly girls ( soft girls ) and that is where I see the connection with Buyeon/Yeong, she’s just as determined, out spoken, even when she cries she doesn’t give up those are the underlying traits of Part 1 Mudeok/Naksu/Yeong
Most girls around gets shy or modest around men but neither part 1 nor part 2 doesn’t and those are the things he actually liked, the facial expressions, the feistiness was all to do with her upbringing that was solely gained through her experiences and as I said earlier these traits cannot show because they were erased but her spirit remained the same.
As for the chemistry, it’s there but because they dragged the amnesia plot so long it’s difficult for Uk to show them as he’s playing a part that is not supposed to recognise her and when he does it’s too late because they had him( as you’ve said) come across as if he fell in love with someone else he was supposed to be thinking (voice) she’s familiar but he can’t understand why or something like that( not sure if you get what I’m trying to say) he was supposed to recognise the underlying traits in her and sharing them with the viewers ( that’s a big script mistake)

I think budget played a part which is such a shame tbh because even the scene where she stayed behind to rebuild the tomb they should’ve shown a parallel of her determination, he should’ve recognised that. He did but they didn’t show him appreciating these qualities enough, lighting her path was beautiful but they failed by letting him show us the comparisons.

So my overall problem is they dragged out her characters in Part One and also in part 2 without a moving story for her and him, by the time they decided to move forward it’s too little too late.
Jang uk is one of the most quick witted characters in the show but they had him slow when it came to her because of the issues I mentioned above, that level of excitement from him was lost as there is too much happening at the same time, as soon as her eyes turned blue they were interrupted by CP that affects his emotions, the timing to bring CP in was way too quick for what was supposed to be a important moment in their plot. Part 2 was not done with clear planning and execution and it affected all the casts and their relationships between each other, it jumped from one thing to another without proper transitions .
