FL just went and delivered🔥🔥🔥 "If this family doesn't like him, hurry up and expel him already. I will give him a family", "Pei Wenxyan has a new home, someone will protect and love him", "He can allow you to do so, but I won't" and especially, "Let's go home" and "Xun chuan, cut his arm". I was running around the house like a madman giggling like crazy after this episode ended. And their conversation at the start of episode 15 was just ❤️❤️ (especially "You are my husband only I can bully you🤩🤩). FL hitting ML:⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡ Someone else hits him: Her=>😠💥💪🔪 🩸
Didn't FL clear up the misunderstanding she had about her feelings for SML, I remember her saying the feelings she has for him are not romantic but more like just concern for his well-being similar to how ML felt for SFL whereas FL was confused about ML because of all the things that happened between them. So I thought from now on she would focus on finding out her actual feelings for ML and we were done with the SML being a candidate. But now as I am halfway through episode 14 it seems as if she is trying to date him? and anyone literally anyone can see how much ML is against it (although he won't say it out loud), are they just intentionally keeping the love triangle to prolong the story?
well the premise of the story is good, and the overall concept is also nice, I also really like the Leads. The only complaint I have is the story is too slow, so many things are happening in repeat as if to try to fill in the episodes. The investigation for the poisonous herb has even less appearance than the least important character of this drama. I hope the later episodes aren't the same.
why the hell is FL so hung up on the fact that ML was once confused about her and SFL like there is plenty more evidence that he just wanted to help her because he felt a bit responsible for SFL, even though he kept his distance and only interfered in person when the situation was too dire. SFL was in a pitiful state anyone human enough would stand up to help her (although you can't expect one inside a royal palace). Plus even in their 20 years of marriage plus this lifetime he has never once accepted that he ever liked SFL rather he even tried to clear things up in this lifetime by telling the FL but maybe she just doesn't listen and only believes her intuition which is at this point proven wrong again and again. Moreover, ML's interaction and concern for SFL don't even come near enough when compared to FL's interaction with SML both in past and present life can't she even do a simple comparison? Even in episode 11 when SFL looks at ML it is clear that SFL wants his help to get out of the situation because he is the only one she knows inside that room (not to mention the crown prince wanted to marry her thus she can look at him for help) and ML seemed confused because he knows the crown prince and SFL liked each other in past and in the present life. I think ML is taking the route where he leaves things to fate and only interferes when needed rather than trying to mold the future on the basis of what he wants. Maybe that's why he didn't tell FL about Shangguan Ya and SML's brother.
[update] sorry for the rant above, I just kind of felt bad for the ML and thus wrote the comments above, please do not be offended if you like FL (she is awesome but the cold CEO types are not my cup of tea so..)
I think he is considering all the possibilities like SML might be a villain but can turn good, or he might be good but can turn into evil, or maybe he has traveled and maybe he didn't. The way he interacts with him tells that he is testing him at every moment. And maybe once he is sure SML is the right guy, he will move aside and if not he will at least make sure FL is safe and away from SML even if she isn't with him (considering how many times he nearly went out of her life forever). Let's see how it goes it's always fun to have exceptionally clever characters in a story.
I thought he was being petty but he was actually being considerate, that guy literally went to SML and told him that the marriage was a farce and wanted SML to protect her in the present and the future. Thus, he intentionally made room for the future possibility that FL might want to get married to the SML. The ML just wants her to be happy and safe, so I believe he is planning to divorce her if she wants (which was what they agreed upon) after he is sure that she is safe and she can marry the SML, while he will stand in the sideline making sure everything goes well.😭😭 So I think we will have plenty of romantic scenes of FL and SML in the future and I am going to sacrifice my feelings so that she can be happy type break up, for god's sake please no!!! I think it will be quite draining to watch a show which has this type of premise, because even though their will be scenes of ML and FL together but we will always have the thought of them going their own way with the worst possibility of them ending up with someone else (although its going to be maybe a happy ending but the thought itself kind of ruins all the romantic scenes and bickering) and it's quite hard to watch the characters you support being sad while their counterparts have romantic involvement with second lead characters.
I laughed so hard when ML's gift for FL during the wedding arrived😂😂😂😂. ML is so petty that he made his enemy/competitor be his best man and sent him to bring FL😂😂. A new addition to the list of how to make your enemies suffer.
I keep wondering why the whole drama feels like it's rushing through the motions. Maybe the lack of transition…
Wait! now that you mentioned it, the time in this drama isn't moving in a set way or more like the transitions aren't smooth enough and lack clues. Even in the 3rd episode when ML and FL are talking about how many days it has been since they returned, they both mentioned 10 days whereas for us it felt like it was just the other day. Even when crown prince is going to the borders and fighting a war, won 5 cities back, that should at least take a couple of months if not years (just going to a country's border should be a 10-15 days journey). But they we in jail for so many day yet it didn't seem like they did.
so pei wen xuan was in love with qin zhen zhen then after he got married he fell in love with li rong but li rong…
True, in those times it was quite hard to find a royal family member who didn't have multiple marriages so from that point of view it is correct. They shouldn't make the other one the lead then (who didn't move on), she moved on even though we can't say she cheated. But just because they are back in the past now doesn't mean she should go to him again because how can you fall in love with another person live a darn long time with them (the SML) and then expect to go back to the first one just because you felt like "oh, wait maybe I like him more" isn't it unfair to ML and SML both. The way things are progressing between FL and SML it feels like ML is the one who is coming in between them, not the other way around. So, I think they should end the drama with ML moving on and retiring while being married and going back to his village (that he mentioned in the episodes) while the FL is there with all the position and power but filled with regret, that seems like a good ending. In the drama called The Good Programmer, they showed FL being treated very badly and ML being confused all the way to the end then suddenly he realized he liked FL, went back to her, and in just 3 episodes they got back together, these things just don't sit well, don't they?
the best start of the drama this year, the 8 episodes were just perfect together. Individually the episodes may not be that good but when they are taken together it was the perfect start. They introduced the characters, their relationships, personalities, the people we should be wary about, the annoying love triangle (FL seems to have feelings for SML and is confused about ML, similar to how he was in their past life (he liked her but was confused), we also got rid of one of the villains which was satisfying. And now it seems like with their marriage the main stage for the story to start will be set. That's just plain out perfect, the pacing, the emotion, the chemistry, woowwwww. I hope they don't mess it up in the later half of the drama (which cdramas often tend to do).
I know I am being narrow-minded here but the way FL treats the SML whether it was their previous life or now is way off the chart compared to how much ML treated or even mentioned the SFL. Even in this life he is concerned about FL and is trying to help her which signals that SFL is no more than a friend whose misfortune he would like to prevent however FL seems like she would go for SML anytime. See it like this, FL felt bad when ML went to help the dying SFL but is okay when she herself brings SML into her palace and gives him a position that practically keeps them together all the time, and that's okay how? If she has moved on (although she hasn't) from ML and is green-lighting SML all the time in the present situation while ML is trying to help her and making it so that she remains happy then I hope ML and FL don't end up together. Even though they have good chemistry the thought that in a drama the ML or FL would just go to SFL or SML the second something happens doesn't sit right with me. (Plus I am angry because SML seems like a bad guy and quite suspicious)
I don't know why but I can't bring myself to like the SML, well maybe I am wrong but he seems like the kind of character who is a screwed villain but acts like a good and gentle person. The FL here seems to trust him too much while the ML is constantly against him, maybe ML knows something more than what FL has seen. Also, this drama seems to be the reverse of the CEO and Cinderella drama which I quite like as the FL is the cold one enacting revenge on ML but yet not cold enough to kill him whereas the ML is someone who won't say a thing but will try to do good things.
just watched episode 1, hope they can clear up the misunderstanding fast because for sure they both were in love with each other. Like typical husband and wife, they both knew that the other one would never cross the line even though they seemed like they would and they both felt betrayed when they thought the other one tried to kill them. Plus even in a situation where the country was falling apart, they both were busy being jealous like seriously. The portrayal is also good because even in those short conversations between the 2 you can find the different emotions they were enacting like jealousy, anger, fear, and then finally devastation when both thought the other one tried to kill them. I don't know how the drama will go but I want them to rather be the emperor and empress or something at the end unlike most of the political drama where the leads leave everything to go live in a freaking forest. Can't wait for all the 40 episodes.
Such a great drama!! I wanted to watch it slowly but ended up watching 7 episodes of this in a day😭😭 . I know a good amount of mess is going to start from episode 8 judging from the preview from episode 7, and seeing how slowly things are moving (they could have started dating somewhere around episode 4-5, but I am not complaining (I was literally jumping around when they kissed) rather I am pointing at the pacing), I think they are going to solve everything at the last minute. Maybe an unnecessary breakup, with them getting back together in the same episode or something. I wanted more episodes of them together 😭 but I guess that's not happening, let's see how it goes see you guys once all the episodes are out.
The CGI in this drama is good, and the fight scenes are well executed. Till now the pacing too seems nice to me. However, even after watching various dramas with immortals in them, I still find it a bit weird when in a plot they make either ML or FL to raise the other one😭. May it be master-apprentice or like the one shown here, it feels a bit weird seeing them date the one who raised them😅😅.
I love this drama🥰, I want to say a lot but I think that sums up most of my thoughts🤣. I started it yesterday promising myself to go for only 1 episode a day and now I am at episode 8, which is quite concerning because I don't want to go through the pain of waiting for the release of each episode. So, I think I will wait till the series ends (and I am praying that there will be an express package or something if not then more likely this drama will last more than a month). Both the leads are awesome, I don't know how their relationship will progress but I know one thing whether ML is behind the mask or not, his interaction with FL is really good and interesting. I really want more scenes of them together, because they look quite good together. Also, after a long time, I have encountered a drama where I don't need to worry about the SML (because he has not had much of an impact at all till now nor does his interaction with FL make him any better than any other supporting character) I just hope he doesn't turn against them. Although I am worried about the scene in the ending song where FL is dressed up looking like an empress (or crown princess) I watched the trailer and it kind of strangely points at either she is married to ML (I saw him quite dressed up too or him kidnapping her or saving her and then getting her back to her family) whatever may be the case I hope they don't make FL marry someone else like they do in some of these historical dramas just to have her marry ML at the end after making both of them and us suffer. See you guys after the drama ends, I am off to watch something else till then.
I am in episode 3, and I don't like the emperor, he acts all good but does everything in a calculative manner. The way he made ML the head of the investigation division seemed sketchy to me on many different levels and also his punishment of the Hua family seems unfair to me especially when they had other bigger problems to deal with like the appointment of the crown prince and the possible treason case that's under investigation. If he ends up being the bad guy then possibly ML will become the emperor which I don't want because FL hated being caged in the house, and that's what happens on a whole other level with empresses, just a bigger house (palace) but with a lot more restrictions. I am way too invested in this drama, but I feel like I should wait till it ends or else it will be really hard to wait for the upcoming episodes every day.
Well the emperor does as the emperor wants, he didn't like what grandpa Hua said so he decided to remove the thorn…
I too hope that there is some explanation to this or else it will be hard to say whether the king is good enough or not. Because FL's grandfather seems to me like one of the people you actually keep at your side, because when none of the officials where speaking he was the one who initiated the talk even though it was harsh but he delivered the truth. I think his dismissal is related to the weapon case discussed in the same scene, maybe one of the family members was in someway caught into this or are being framed. Because from episode 2, it was said they will be held for a trial, but trial for what, saying something bad about the emperor🤣. (usually people in higher position are given these kinds of punishment when they do treason or try to kill someone from the royal family if not they are mostly immune to punishment even emperors are usually shown to be wary of giving excessive punishment to such officials, I don't know what happened in this drama🤣🤣)
i know its for the sake of ML and FL, and the story's progression but still I can't see any adequate reason behind the dismissal of the Hua family people, also they were banished to the north?? they didn't commit any treason, right? how can a powerful official be just banished alongside his whole family without much reason?? someone explain I am in episode 1
