yes.. most of the flat scenes boil down to emperor being a clown. Its a cringe. for sure. I heard in novel he is not that bad. They should have kept him like that

I found the actual scene too a bit too much from her side. It was not needed. I cannot say it did not work for others because I see in twitter and here as well enjoying it. Just a very few of us are irked :)

That was a good one. I loved that. she can do that in private but the way she behaved in the court was too much for a newbie entering the court. She mmight be simple village girl but she too is not that naive not to understand the place she is in

They tried to inject humour into this episode, but it fell flat for me. I used to find Fan Changyu’s attitude…
Same here. We were discussing the same below in the comments. There is a fine line between being brave and arrogant. In a bid to show her brave they ended up showing her arrogant and added comedic relief instead of it all being serious

I agree. I know what you mean. I found myself cringing at some of it and it was Chang Yu who I felt they should…
True. CY should have toned down. Even if she did not have Court etiquette she would know that court is not the place where you can behave however you want!

oh right. so it all boils down to that one change they did to the emperor !

She disrespecting two most senior members is also too much for me bcs at this point emperor does not hold any merit anyways. Even if she lacks court etiquette, she knows she is in front of the emperor.

Puppet to Wei right? But not like a newly appointed general can come and cause havoc in his court?

yes...the Emperor being such a crybaby was not a good change imo😔
That would have added more gravitas to Marquis and Princess character defying the emperor. They should have kept it like novel !

I would have liked better if they had done the palace politics part in a more serious way, rather than adding…
Same here. It just feels stretching the reality too far. On the one hand the whole paalce and its environment is set up to be on the premise of rules and decorum but then anybody can behave anyway with the emperor seems to be too much to digest for me.
CY talking back at the two most senior members of the court too is something I did not fully enjoy. I get that she is straightforward and never backs away and that is how she is bought up but her never having any consequence of talking back is not really believable!
I mean she can do whatever she wants just like Marquis so that means his years of hardwork, reputation he gained is all for nothing. Not only him, even his uncle if anybody can come and speak however they want!

Title Pursuit of Jade Spoiler
While I wait for the finale I started rewatching from the first episode. I rarely do that but this is one of the exception because first half was just so beautiful. But I did not expect it to be a bit painful to watch now that you know that most of these characters will be dead in a few days :(
Atleast Zhao couple are alive else I would never be able to rewatch. Thank god/author/script writer for that

People are really obsessed with QM saying he's their type. My feed is filled with it. I can't find any reason…
its literally torturous for me to see their scene where she is forced but I see so many tweets gushing over him and their scene. I cannot get the hype. Yes he is handsome and actor did the good job bug going gaga over the character is too much

I wish they showed more scenes of ChangNing and XZ in the camp when he rescued her. We only get to know from Ning that he cooked fish for her. It would have been so good to see that instead of her mentioning it :)

But he’s the most legitimate candidate for the throne. Why should he give it up? In battles for the throne,…
He was a victim yes. How they react to it is what makes them different. He did not show any kindness to his foster mother who genuinely cared for him. Became obssessed with a woman forcibly took her when she did not want to have anything to do with him. Nothing can justify his actions towards them although we can understand that his bitterness is what consumed him.
Many people face a lot of injustice and trauma but how they respond to it and mould themselves is where the different lies.

He never loved anyone but himself. Constanly victimising his own self so I would disagree! he did not care even…
That is precisely why I think he can never be a loving husband and father. He would always at the end choose what he wants even if it means hurting others in his life one or the other way. If he can think of killing his own son I think in absence of all the hatred and what he went through in his childhood he would still have those traits because if he was led into that situation again he would again not hesitate to kill his own son!
