The drama is tagged distorted reality. The premise is that the emotions of the drama inside the drama are driving the emotions of the actors outside of the drama. It's not everyone's cup of tea, you don't have to like it & if it's a 2 for you, that's your opinion - that's fair. But to say there's no connection means you're interpreting it differently from the majority of people who get the connection & thus rate it much higher, so I'd invite you to - if you're so inclined - try to see it from a fresh perspective.

Maturity is a spectrum; there are plenty of mature roles that aren't related to trauma response rape fetishism. In any case, it's not like I am saying he can't play the role, or I won't watch the drama. I'm just stating that I wish the role was played by someone who isn't a teenager. My wishes don't affect anything, but I am allowed to have them.

I'm on episode 9 now and while I truly enjoy the complexity of the show, I really wish they hadn't cast a 19 year old boy in a role where the character is being asked to re-enact rape as treatment for trauma; it doesn't matter how 'mature' Ollie is (he's 20 now but he wasn't at the time of filming), his brain is still forming.

But remember why he said it? Because he didn't want him to be taken advantage of. He wanted him to be stronger. And instead he came to the company and immediately let himself be bullied by the other Exec PAs.

There's something a bit ableist and toxic about all the comments resenting that his disability was fixable with surgery & the preference that he remain blind. Like, modern medicine isn't perfect, we can't re-grow limbs or revive the long-dead, but blindness/deafness are two conditions with a broad range of severity & promising surgical/mechanical options for treating the least-severe. People don't need to remain in a state you pity and 'admire' for a better narrative; that's kind of weird to want, especially saying it out loud, homies.

This doesn't take place in your country, is why it doesn't make sense to you. Gig workers are very common around the world. Someone might be a teacher Mon-Fr during the day, a dog walker 7-days a week in the evening, a bartender at night on Fri & Sat, and a Uber driver during school breaks. Okay. I respect your opinion. I just know that there's no shade of grey when someone's parents welcome me into their home, or if we always have to talk at the BTS station, never in the living room.

I'm gay in Thailand, is that good enough? A lot of work has been done to destigmatize gayness here, but it doesn't stop the fact that for a lot of people - even people who aren't overtly homophobic, see the opposite of 'gay' as 'normal', not straight. There still is a stigma against someone in your family or your friend group suddenly being 'not normal'. Is it getting better? Yes. Do dramas that provide teaching moments help? We think so. Stereotypes become stereotypes for a reason. Showing homophobic parents either reform their ways or lose access to their children is common from gay directors because it's a lesson that needs to be learned. Sorry if it bores you, but we need it.

I think he's very cute and talented, so why don't I like anything he's the main ML in? I have to be honest and say I wish he was partnered with someone other than Nat. I'd love to see him in a more serious BL with a more seasoned veteran partner who can match his emotional range.

If a drama is tagged 'love triangle' and you watch it, then give a low rating because you don't like love triangles, I hope you get ketchup on every white shirt you own, I hope your phone always charges slowly, I hope your pillow is always too warm, I hope the back of your socks always slip down into your shoes when you're walking in public. Basically, I find you extremely annoying, and so I hope you are always annoyed as your karma.

You're bothered by seeing homophobic parents in Thai dramas, when the majority of Thai parents are homophobic? Mind you, a lot say they are quite progressive, but that progressivism ends at the border of THEIR family. It's alright for others, they suppose, but their kids absolutely must be 'normal'. I went to a gay club in Soi 11 this past weekend with some friends, and one had to send all the photos/videos taken to me, then delete all our messages that night in WhatsApp, AND leave our groupchat, just because she was staying with her homophobic mother-in-law while we were in Bangkok and couldn't let her see that her friends are gay or she wouldn't be allowed to hang out with us anymore.

Sorry, but homophobic parents NEED to be shown as redeemable villains for the next generation or two so that young people are raised on fiction that tells them 'if you grow up to be homophobic toward your kids, you are the bad guy, but you can be forgiven if you change your ways'.

It took a generation of 'everyone in the friend group is gay' BL shows to convince the country that there are enough gay people around you everywhere you look that we now need to legalize gay marriage.

Reconciliation should always be the goal with family; forgiveness as well. That isn't to say anyone should put up with abuse, far from it - cut off toxic people, even and especially family. But if they come around in the end, and you aren't broken irreparably and unable to be around them through PTSD or hatred or just having had enough of them for a lifetime - all valid stances - then why not reconcile? Peace & joy are wonderful things, I don't know why anyone would not want others to have them if they are available in the end; that's weird.

I also didn't like it; it's like they wanted to justify his ending by making him a predator, even though he hadn't been anything but in love & overprotective up til then, even supporting Little Jane with Dan rather than himself.
