Yeah, that might be true at first, when he ended the marriage, but they also had a romantic relationship which was good and healthy, and he ended that too buy playing games with Yao Yao. What trust? There's no trust when you tell the ex your man wouldn't leave with her, and at the very same time your man pretends to be leaving with his ex. Really, imagine that you're dating someone for a year, you're living together, you have lots of intimacy, and share many problems together, and then one day your partner says he wants to divorce you so that you could think things over, but assures you of his love, but weeks later leaves with his ex. Would you really trust him again? That reminds me of TJH and his fiancee.

No, he still didn't tell her. It was her who guessed it and forced him to admit the truth. And he didn't tell her it was all in the past. He gave her a very evasive answer about not knowing what would happen in a different scenario.

And later when she paraphrased him and gave him the same answer about TJH he got all insecure but still didn't answer about Yao Yao when she asked him again.

Yes, Qin Shi asked Li Dai to help his ex, but she didn't ask YH. And Li Dai asked him only because she wanted him to manipulate Qin Shi in favour of his ex. And some of the solutions he brought would actually make Qin Shi fired. How was that helping her without even consulting her? Also, Qin Shi made it clear to Yao Yao (and he heard it) that she didn't want him helping his ex. Oh, and of course he ended up giving all his money to his ex, the very money with which he first planned to help Qin Shi. In the end it was that assistant and TJH who really helped, so all that help from YH wasn't needed.

Yes, I know he loved Qin Shi, but it's not the behaviour of a man who loves his woman. And really, you know he loved her only because he told that to Yao Yao. That's not the right person to be told. All he said to Qin Shi before that was that he liked her and wanted to take care of her, but then went on taking care of his ex. He definitely didn't tell HER that he loved her more than others.

Their marriage started on a lie, but their romantic relationship did not. Even if he didn't want to have a fake marriage he shouldn't have abused their romantic relationship as he did. Yes, he told her parents the truth, behind her back, deciding on his own about it. That was actually very disloyal towards her. Still, even if what he said was true, judging by his actions she had no way of knowing he didn't lie again. After all what he told her about Yao Yao was also partially true. He said what was convenient to say. Still, seeing how he was leaving with his ex, all his words about wanting to be with her meant nothing.

Yes, I know he didn't really leave, but he made everything to make her believe he did, and that's pretty much the same. No, it wasn't just Yao Yao saying to make her jealous. It was plotted by the both of them. He deliberately came to the bar to pick Yao Yao in front of Qin Shi, and they both thought she'd come to the airport to stop him. There was no coincidence about it. He knew about the plot and played along, and left Qin Shi standing in the rain when she chased after him, only telling her brothers to pick her up. Now, what would you say if Qin Shi deliberately did something like that to him with TJH?

Qin Shi told Yao Yao to stay away from Yang Hua when she was in her home and YH heard everything. What more proof did he need?

"Yang hua didn't answer her question when she asked him on the phone because he got confused with her question, it never even cross his mind to get back with his ex." ---- That's simply not true. It was the 3rd time when she asked him that question. The first time she asked he was actually told by his father he shouldn't give an evasive answer, but he bought her a gift instead of answering. Also, his own friend asked him that question several times and YH failed to answer, to the point where Cai was sure YH would choose the ex. And he definitely knew what she was asking about since he was just on his way to that bar to make her jealous by leaving with Yao Yao. He did it to her, repeatedly, on purpose while at the same time asking her for divorce because she didn't answer his question, even though she made it clear, in front of him, that she'd never marry TJH.

Yes, she was focused on her career, and what's wrong with it? Also, she didn't always put her career first. Actually, there were moments when she put him first even though it might have hurt her career. Not to mention that she even put his ex first. YH returned to work because he wanted to. He first said it was for her, but he ended up giving all the money to his ex, so I guess Qin Shi wasn't such an important reason after all.

She didn't hang with his ex because she wanted to. They worked together. But she never plotted with his ex against him. On the contrary. And that's a huge difference.

BTW You say that "QS simply declared in front of Yao yao that YH wouldn't move to australia" as if it were a bad thing. They might have had a fake marriage but they had a real romantic relationship. Their kisses, their feelings, their sex etc. were all real. He broke the marriage telling her he wanted her to think things over but that he still wanted to be with her. So was it wrong of her to take her time to think things over but still believe he wouldn't betray and abandon her?

What he did in the end was no longer ending their fake marriage. It was cheating her and ruining their romantic relationship. I wouldn't trust him after that.

I think people who are fine with the ending because they had a fake marriage and needed to sort it out, forget that they had two different relationships going at the same time. The marriage was fake, but their boyfriend-girlfriend relationship was not, and they were clear on it from the beginning. It's what Yang Hua proposed and Qin Shi readily agreed to. It was one thing to get a divorce because the marriage was fake and she needed time to figure out if she wanted to be married to him at all, and a completely different thing to ruin the boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, the faith and trust they put in each other. Because when he decided to lie to her about Yao Yao not being his ex, and then when he plotted with Yao Yao to pretend to return to her and go with her to Australia, he was no longer ending the marriage (they were already divorced anyway and living separately). At that point he decided to ruin their real romantic relationship. Up to that point what they had between them was not fake. The feelings, the mutual care, support, the kisses, the dates, the sex, the trust and loyalty were real.

He lied and cheated, and ruined the trust she put in him. That's why the ending was so bad, because no matter what he told his ex, his friend and her family (and she knew nothing about most of it anyway), and no matter all his reasoning behind his masterminding he put her through, the picture she was presented with was her boyfriend abandoning her for his ex (and perhaps thier son). And even if we know his POV, not everything looks so nice, either. After all half of the helping in Yao Yao's case was done against Qin Shi. If his ex won his woman would lose her job. And he ended up giving all the money he wanted to spend for a house for Qin Shi to his ex. And he couldn't tell if he preferred Qin Shi over his ex even when his friend asked him. So it wasn't just to make Qin Shi jealous.

Really, answer yourself. If after a fight with your boyfriend you see him putting all his energy into his ex, give her a huge amount of money and then see him give you up and leave with her, would you be fine with it because he told your parents he still loved you? That's so lame! Actually, that's exactly what TJH was doing to his fiancee all the time and everyone called her deluded.

Qin Shi might not have been ready for marriage, but she never used tricks against Yang Hua. She was honest and loyal. What he did was the opposite. He claimed to love her but many of his actions suggested otherwise. And suddenly he shows up after 7 months and everything's fine?

Well, I'm so angry at the ending because I so liked the first 30 episodes. My rating went down from 9 to 7,5.

If he didn't want QS to be in a fake marriage he might have talked it over with her and decide on a break. She'd figure things out with a little time and space as we've seen her doing it over several episodes without any additional factors. He didn't need to lie to her and make a joke of their relationship.

I wonder what you'd say if after YH lied to Qin Shi about Yao Yao not being his ex, and after he refused to answer whether he'd choose Qin Shi over Yao Yao, Qin Shi would pretend to return to TJH just, you know, to stimulate him and make him face the fear that she might actually go away?

When he told her he and Yao Yao were just classmates that was a direct lie. He also lied about losing his job. And later, when they pretend with Yao Yao to return to each other and act a scene in front of Qin Shi that is a huge lie too. Qin Shi was honest and loyal towards Yang Hua. Even if she didn't tell him something at once because of work she made sure to tell him everything later.

But when she asked YH wether he'd choose her over his ex he didn't answer, either. I think YH kept sending double messages. On the one hand he was telling her he cared for her, but on the other his feelings for his ex were very ambiguous. Qin Shi, on the contrary, she wasn't ready to tell YH how much she loved him, but she showed him lots of affection and her stand on her ex was always clear. And even in the fight YH overheard she said very clearly she wouldn't divorce YH to be with TJH. So the last episodes feel very unbalanced. She is forced to make lots of soul searching to admit her feelings, but YH does awful things to her and never even apologises.

Li Dai joins the company at the beginning of the drama, so she's at the very start of her career there when Qin Shi has already put years of effort into her promotion. So when Li Dai leaves the loss to her is very small, but when Qin Shi leaves she really loses out. Even though later she starts her own practice there's no way she can earn the same kind of money and have the same serious cases she'd have in the big company. So it's a really huge setback to her career and she might never be able to make up for it. Which, btw, is very clearly explained by TJH who asks why would he give up his millions a year salary for work in her shitty company.

Saying that Yang Hua changed his life for Qin Shi is really silly, considering that all he wanted was to stay home and do nothing and it was Qin Shi rather than his mother who gave him that opportunity. And no, his mother wouldn't let him do that in the end. She'd just pretend for some time in order to have him back and then come up with some new idea to marry him off. And he said very clearly, on numerous occasions, that he didn't want to return home. So I'd say the living arrangement was much more important for him than for Qin Shi. Having another person stay at your place is hardly not making any change in your life. He did do the housework but she had enough money to hire help if she wanted it. Yes, he wants to go back to work at some point and buy a house for her, but then goes back on the idea and gives all the money to his ex. So it's really difficult to say that he did it for her. Maybe he really did it only for him. And in the end, he buys an apartment and all the furniture himself. He doesn't ask her to be a part of the process so he doesn't do that for her.

Even though Qin Shi quits her job in the end, she really shouldn't be obliged to do that. Just as it wasn't OK for Yang Hua to act behind her back to help Yao Yao. Qin Shi always supported Yang Hua in his career and life choices no matter how foolish they were. He should do the same for her instead of taking care of his ex. His ex had a sh*tty job which she wanted to quit anyway, esp. that she ended up working in another country. No way a Chinese company could prevent her from working in a hotel in Australia. Qin Shi worked too hard for the opportunity in her workplace. All that effort she put over many many years shouldn't be taken lightly for another woman's case. And the other woman didn't even stay around for the verdict. That shows that even if the case was tough, it meant very little in her entire lifespan. So why should her problem be solved by such a huge sacrifice from Qin Shi?

"Not that I really thought she was holding back until the script called for it. It was a plot contrivance -- an unnecessary one at that."

Exactly! They were going hand in hand in their relationship showing lots of loyalty, support and faith in each other, and then suddenly Yang Hua starts to lie to her about his ex, and then he decides to divorce her because he says she's not sure about her feelings (even though she clearly told TJH that she'd never divorce Yang Hua for him), and then Yang Hua acts behind her back and plots some crap theatricals with his ex to deceive her, he refuses to tell her wether he'd choose her over his ex, and supposedly abandons her and leaves the country with the ex and her son. And in the end he shows up after 7 months and it's said that it was all the FL's fault and that she needed it, and he doesn't even explain himself or apologise. That was the most crappy ending in a drama ever!

It wasn't always him making the effort, far from it. She also made effort in their relationship. I'd say they were going hand in hand for a long time until Yang Hua decided to divorce her. She wanted to date him just as much as he wanted to date her. She was the first to initiate sex, she was trying to cook for him, she wanted to bring him lunch to work (but he didn't even tell her he already quit). She bought him another turtle so that it'd be a pair. She supported all his life choices, whether he wanted to stay home and do nothing or return to work, which really most women would never do. She often paid for him. She defended him on many occasions and always chose him first, even if it meant losing career opportunities. And then put herself in a dangerous situation in order to take a revenge for him and clean his name. But most importantly, she became extremely loyal towards him over the series which couldn't be said about him. She was always honest and fair with him. She told TJH she'd never divorce him even when he refused to say he'd chose her over his ex. On the other hand, he lied to her and pretended to return to his ex. Really, what did she do to make him treat her so bad?

He wasn't helping her with her work, he was helping his ex. Half of the time they weren't even on the same side. He did help her once with the cleaning and cooking but that felt rather like a good bye gift.

They both lied to their parents on many occasions. Why should she assume he didn't this time? Also, why should she assume he still loved her after he chose to leave with another woman? People change, feelings do change, too. Esp. when the ex whom he might still have feelings for shows up with his assumed son.

You said that he told her parents he loved her, and he told Yao Yao he loved her, but he never told her he did. He said he liked her when they decided to be dating, but later he lied to her about his ex, and divorced her soon after, and then kept helping his ex even if that meant going against his own woman, and then left with his ex (yes, he didn't really leave, but he plotted with his ex to deceive her about it). And then many times refused to tell her wether he'd choose her over his ex. Not only that, he actually did tell her with his actions. He gave her the silent treatment on the phone when she asked him whom he'd choose and then showed up minutes later in the bar and picked his ex and left the FL standing in the rain when she chased after him. At this rate, even if I believed he loved me at some point, I'd assume he had a change of heart and returned to his ex. There's a difference between having faith in someone's feelings and being totally deluded even if the facts are revealed before your own eyes.

And suddenly he shows up after 7 months and everything's fine? At this rate I'd never take him back without some serious explanation and apologies for all that crap. Giving her time to think about her feelings and creating all that sh*tty performance in front for her are two different things. Esp. that he wasn't different from her at the beginning. Neither of them wanted to marry and both of them were very supportive towards the other's life and career choices. No matter what happened she was always honest and fair towards him what couldn't be said about him. And then suddenly the ML decided he wanted her to admit her feelings and that justifies all his hurting actions towards her? Like they couldn't just talk it through and give each other time and space to come to terms with their feelings but he had to mastermind some social experiment and put her through hell? I'd kick him out all the way to Australia!

She tried to stop him twice. The airport was the second time. The first time was right after he left the bar with his ex. She ran after them but he left her standing alone in the rain and only called her brothers to look for her. So it doesn't make sense that he put her through all of that when she wanted to confess anyway. Also, all the fake relationship with his ex girlfriend was crap and not needed. The FL knew she loved him and wanted to be married to him all time long, she just needed courage. But he was at his ex's when the FL told his ex that he was hers and he heard everything, so really what more proofs did he need?

Yang Hua confessed to her and kissed her but she kissed him back and agreed to be his gf. Also, later she initiated sex and showed him lots of affection throughout their marriage. No way he didn't know she had feelings for him. Still, she didn't hide her ex from him, but he did hide his ex from her. Also, he never told her he'd choose her over his ex until the very end. She asked him many times but he always avoided the question. It was her time to feel insecure in this relationship, not his esp. that he wanted divorce. And it doesn't make sense that the writers put everything on her in the end. And even made her miss him twice when she wanted to confess her feelings. On the other hand he pretended to get back with his ex girlfriend and even leave the country with her and never even apologises for all that crap.

It was OK to give her a break but not OK to pretend to leave with his ex. Also, he wanted so much for her to tell him she loved him but he never even told her he'd choose her over his ex until the very ending. He avoided the question many times making her feel insecure. So was it OK for him to demand to confess her feelings while he was so evasive? Also, yes, he was supportive of her career, but when she wasn't supportive of his life choices? She let him stay home as much as he wished, never pressured him in any way, but was supportive of his career too whenever he chose to work.

Because the last episodes really ruin the entire show. I, too, lowered the rank from 9 to 7,5.
