Legit the best drama to close 2023 with. Last 6 eps will be a banger. So glad LTG didnt act cray after knowing Ruyi is still alive and kissing NYZ. Already crying buckets when i saw trailer for ep36. So glad i have the next 2 days off work, if they drop 6 eps ill binge all at once.
Guys i just finished ep 31-32 half an hour ago, its 1am in Western Australia and i have to be up by 7am for work. But i cant sleep now my mind is racing, those 2 eps were ON FIRE. Chu Chu is literally the most annoying and useless chatacter EVER. Why did they have to include her she contributes absolutely nothing except me pressing the FF button whenever she comes on.
He wasnt a classically trained actor?? im surprised! He is so good in A Journey to Love, a stellar performance for an actor with only a few yesrs experience.
Great show and i loved it, but my fave side couple was Fangyin and Lv boss. Why did Fangyin have to doe, was that necessary??? So i rated it a 9.5 instead of 10.
Underrated detective gem!!! For some reason i never watched it and i thought it was supernatural themed like Liaozhai stories... but there are several cases which kinda link to the greater mystery and s1 ended on a satisfying note which makes you want to eatch s2 !! Cant wait!!! Heard they finished filiming s2 in august, hope to see it in 2024!
My thoughts on the open ending of special episode:
They did find LLH, because if not why would they get off the horse to look at the water? Even hulijing stopped and wagged her tail. LLH had a different styling if you look closely, his hair is slightly different. He smirked and probably thoight i knew these 2 will find me. He has used the same trick before in Qiao Wanmian, claiming he found LXY sachet on a dead body, so this time he left his sachet on dead body to trick FDB. FDB & DFS did not say anything because they knew LLH did not want them to find him. But the camera pans out and all of them are gone, presumably they all left together to help LLH find a cure. So its a HE for me.
I personally thought he was brilliant in Alchemy of Souls part 2, he portrayed the character so well and made me feel the pain/emotion/dilemma the character experienced.
Why has rating on MDL dropped to 8.2?? This show is so underrated, i love Every single episode, there is no draggy filler and the MLs are so good and i love all the mystery cases. How is this show not getting enough hype??? How??????
Cheng Yi is such a versatile actor, he absolutely nailed the role of cheeky, cunning and hilarious Li Lianhua!!! 😂 hope to see him in such future roles, he has a great dry humour style of comedic timing! No more sombre/serious roles who always vomit blood!!! Hes a hidden comedy genius!!!
