I also felt weird that SJZ killed the envoy. Did he becomes so filial to his father that he decided to do that instead of protecting the letter? That part didn't make much sense to me. But thanks everyone for explaining. It seemed open to a second season.

The ending seems a bit unexplained. How did Zhan Zhao's poison get cured? I thought the Naiheyin was gonna kill him? How did he survived? Was Prince XY killed by Bai Yutang's arrow? What crucial evidence did Ming Zhu Er risk his life for? Was it evidence of Prince XY colliding with the Xixia people?

I think he didn't kill ming Zhu er's entire family but he might have killed ming Zhu er's father? Only guessing.

I'm not trusting MDL ratings anymore. How is this only 7.7??? Because there's no romance?

I only watched Xiao Zhan in Untamed and some modern drama. Wow. His acting is really next level in this drama. He depicted so much depth of the character that was very difficult to do even for a mature actor. And him using his own voice? 😲 who needs a voice actor for dubbing.. he has improved so much in such a short time and I heard he had spent time off screen in theatre honing his craft.. looks like it paid off! Viewers in china can no longer say he's just an idol traffic actor.. I think he's ascended to the next level.

She was regretful of exposing the rhubarb matter without thinking far ahead as she only wanted swift justice. It led to a chain of events causing her mum to take her own life . FL said she should have focused on healing her mother first then took measures to expose the song and Lan.

FL is full of regret and realises she had been wrong in exposing the rhubarb in the medication. We see some character growth and she's no longer a young girl full of rashness and impulse. I think this is the turning point in her becoming a good strategist like the ML. She now knows that when you push people into a corner and they have nothing to lose while you have everything to lose, it's never a good ending. I love how the ML supports her and let's her come to these revelations herself and never rushes to solve her problems for her. A good strategist is always someone wise, with restraint and never shows their hand unless it's really necessary. She is maturing so quickly. The move where she forced her father to write the contract to never meddle in her marriage in return for not suing him is gold. And how she didn't forgive Lan immediately even when she knew Lan probably was remorseful? Priceless. A top strategist in the making!!!

Man... A Sheng and Jin Lun.. she is really his trial and tribulation. I know she didn't beg him to help her but come on, romance aside, this person helped you defeat your archnemesis and you made him fall down with the enemy so you could kill your enemy?! And then be mean to him after you see him lose an arm? Even if she was secretly crying that's messed up. I wouldn't treat anyone that helped me so much, regardless of who they are. All she cares about is Xin Mei. It's her one and only obsession and it's getting old.

I have seen that special ep. He did not die from the explosion but instead was voluntarily captured by someone. Someone who is controlling behind the scenes. He is basically in the same position as the Tiemo king was in. They left it open for a second season so I hope that happens because 28 eps is seriously too short.

I'm really enjoying this. Same director as Mysterious Lotus Casebook. The happenings and mysteries in Chong long valley reminded me of MLC..
