The words at the closing scene also say something like "everything will grow with no end". From a Buddhism perspective, it's about going with the flow, dont be obsessed with any thing or person, it will happen when it's meant to be. So i think they will definitely find their way back to each other. The ending is bittersweet but also realistic. Many people saying why didnt Banxia just follow him... how can she do that to her parents knowing that in her "last live" they were separated for so many years.. Each person has their own responsibilities, if fate is to be, they will meet again no matter what.
