Korean writers love to have these character changes in the final moments instead of allowing them to slowly go through the stages of grief in every episode. I think the drama would have been so much better to see the dad healing and slowly opening himself up to the world. instead he was a hateful, mean drunk who spent his day isolating his son and sitting in the dark. It’s clear that the wife had a dangerous job seeing that multiple people died even before her. I don’t know if it’s because I’m biased. In my culture we are raised to see death as a part of life. You can mourn forever but you must get up and get on with life. We are told all the time every soul shall taste death so don’t get too attached to this planet.

What exactly is the difference between 29 and 30? he is basically touching 30. We don’t even know what age shes portraying in this drama. she could be in her late 30s and he could be in his late 20s. Large age gaps are only extreme when it involves someone who isn’t fully mentally developed. 25+ is grown and capable of making sound decisions. Therefore, I could care less who they decide to like. It becomes problematic to me when an underdeveloped person mentally and experience wise is dating someone much older. The woman from under the queens umbrella is 13 years older than honey lee and 28 years older than the oldest son. While the ML and FL have an 11 year age gap in real life. So that’s a terrible comparison. There’s a million societal issues depicted in this drama. In the last episode an elderly man was getting beat to death. if the age gap is what’s bothering you out of all of those issues I think you have bigger problems. You want historical dramas to meet your current societal expectations. If it bothers you so much perhaps you can consider dropping it?

That’s one of the biggest issues with people who watch historical dramas with their modern lenses. This was truly an awful time for women. They live in a society where they are not even a full person. Their entire lives and worth are tied to the men in their lives. Imagine being part of a society that pushes you to commit sucicide because your husband dies. Your family gets an award for your death as a chaste woman. So much so that people started murdering their daughter in laws. So even your life span is tied to a man. If you don’t die you must dedicate your entire life to him and spend your life serving his family. People are sitting around talking about I’m bothered by the age gap. You are telling me under that circumstance you wouldn’t try to get with a younger man if it meant preserving your life??

you are certainly entitled to that opinion but it’s not like the ML is a spring chicken. The man is basically 30 years old in real life. It’s not like in Goblin when she’s attending high school and is carrying a backpack for half the episodes. I believe once a person is 25 plus I’m not worried about age gaps tbh. Same in Melancholia where they met while she’s he is a student and she’s a teacher. That’s an inappropriate relationship.

People always complaining about age gaps when the woman is older but there are a million and one dramas with age gaps where the man is older and we never hear these types of complaints. Especially, in a time period where senior citizen ass men would marry 14 year old girls. Hell, they want to sell that little girl as a concubine eventually and she looks about 8 years old. At least he is a grown man with the whole job and not some 15 year old girl. It even looks like the ML’s older brother might be paired up with her servant and she looks about 15 her damn self. Yet I see no complaints.

People always get so worked up when there’s a possible cheating plot-line. Guess what, Some tv shows are going to depict real life scenarios. Sometimes people cheat in short term and long term relationships. It doesn’t mean you can’t critique the character for making a bad decision but y’all OD every time. OMG the show is awful. What was the writer thinking. The plot is garbage. Calm down. It’s been three episodes, let the story develop. If cheating is confirmed I’m interested to know if this will break them for good or if they decide it’s something they can work through. Don’t act like trailers and editing haven’t fooled us before.

100 percent!! Someone who gets it. It’s too much of a one sided relationship. She’s doing all the emotionally heavy lifting. She literally wears her heart on her sleeves and never hesitates to show him all her cards. It only makes sense that eventually she would get tired from all that weight. The ex is chasing him and coming to his home at night, drenched, and confessing her feelings. She goes out of her way to buy him a watch under the guise of a gift from the company. At no point does he think let me make myself clear to the woman I’m dating. Instead he gets frustrated with his best friend for essentially telling to read the room and go make your girlfriend(if that’s what they are) secure in your relationship. He needs to wake up or risk losing her.

I see that a lot of people are complaining about the FL’s behavior this episode. if you take all the other episodes into count, her reaction makes perfect sense. Since the first episode the FL has been so clear with her feelings and intentions with the ML. If you go back to the previous episodes I believe she confesssed first in every episode. In almost every single scenes the ML never confessed back or said I like you as well. He just smiled. She was assertive and constantly putting herself out there. She showed up at his house etc.. When the Ex came back she found out before he told her. She never made a big deal about them working together. Even when he told her that he dated the director he didn’t reassure her. He didn’t say hey it’s all in the past you are the one I like etc… So combine all that and you tell me you wouldn’t feel a bit insecure. Add that with the communication barrier they have. I hope to see in the last episodes the ML putting himself out there and reassuring her that he loves her and that she’s the one for him. All of you saying he doesn’t need to disclose his past. Does he want to build a life with this woman or not??? If he doesn’t want to share his life with her and again it can be at a slow pace he should let her go so she can move on. Again, I really like the ML but he is entirely too closed off emotionally.

So far the drama is doing pretty good in following the webtoon. I don’t believe there will be a love triangle as he is suppose to be with her new cute friend.

I hope to see the day that kdrama writers let go of the depiction of toxic obsessive lovers. Entire centuries have passed and I can’t tell the difference from the SML behavior as a prince and him as a police officer in the modern world. You know how creepy it was watching that man standing in the woods and just watching them. Somebody need to call the police on the police. Breaking into peoples homes and using tax payer resources on stalking a woman that’s is not remotely interested in you. I despise when the character goes can I like you and protect it’s my feelings and I’m entitled to them. That just means I’m gonna force myself in your life regardless of how you feel. I’m not saying they shouldn’t have characters like this. I’m just saying it should be made clear to the audience that this behavior is not sweet or romantic but rather unwanted, persistent contact by an obsessed lover.

Right! I think it would have been beautiful to see him going through the different stages of grief and eventually forgiving the mom and forming a beautiful relationship where they honor his wife and her bestfriend. It’s just so unpleasant to see him treat his wife’s bestfriend and the second mom to his son so badly. He must have known that the two moms promised to raise each others children as their own should anything happen. They will probably have a rushed makeup scene at the end of the drama where the dad reluctantly allows his son to date her.

Ugh I really can’t stand the father. The man needs serious therapy. He has so much hatred and anger inside of him. I really believe living life the way he does is insulting to your dead loved ones. Guess what? death is a part of life. You can have grief and mourn but you need to eventually be able to move on. He spent so much time trying to control his sons life that he doesn’t even really have a relationship with him. The ML could have studied abroad, moved to the HQ, possibly have gotten married and maybe had a child if it wasn’t for him. Also the dad is lowkey kind of violent in his outburst. Spitting on the ground, throwing food away etc…

I don’t understand why kdramas love including these disturbing SML’s into dramas. I really hate seeing Sang do on my screen. Just bad vibes in every scene. The level of entitlement he has towards the FL is crazy. He literally is acting like he gave the FL up to the ML when she never liked him in the first place. You were too much of a coward to express your emotions unlike the ML who spent time with her and didn’t hesitate to express himself. Some people were saying the ML was a simp for still being in love with the FL. What about a man that is in love with someone he hasn’t dated, or seen for 8 years? Still, now the ML is expressing himself while he is watching in the background like a loser and having tantrums. I would rather have this time be utilized for the sisters love stories.

I’m enjoying the drama but I’m slightly concerned about it being 16 episodes and not much story left to develop besides the history between the leads and the backstory of the FL’s parents and how they died. what exactly does Madam Jo’s evil son still want? She gave up her shares along with the company. He got exactly what he wanted. what is his beef still?

The SML’s obsession with the identity of the ML is getting borderline stalkerish at this point. It’s not like there’s a serial killer running around brutally murdering women but sure let’s spend our time running these illegal DNA test. Also, why do they always assume that if a person is a supernatural they are somehow dangerous and everyone must be warned to stay away. Sir, have you seen your own fellow humans? is there a rule in kdrama world that the moment a woman is threatened she immediately decides to walk down a dark alley alone at night?? Obviously, that shady boss is not the killer. He knows something for sure but it’s most likely the husband of that lady that was killed. I think this drama should have been like 12 episodes.

Yea, all he does is go around gathering information about her when she’s doing all the work for the team. I don’t know why he is so fixated on Du Sik so much.

You have a weird thing about turning everything sexual. It wasn’t at his place it was at his workshop. Anyways, I don’t want to keep regurgitating the same thing. You have managed to somehow turn this into some weird sexual gender war. it’s good that you dropped. Good luck to you.

First, it’s easy to see from the flash backs from episode two that she suffers from some kind of mental illness that has not been made clear yet. You can see from her emotions that she can be unstable. She has had a stalker for 7 years. She’s been attacked in her office and almost killed via drowning. The police tell her that the most likely culprit is someone she works with. That’s the first crack. She is approached by the insurance guy to provide her with info she didn’t have before regarding her mother going to the hospital three times under suspicious circumstances. She goes to talk with her husband and she finds out that he no longer goes to the gym he usually goes to for months now. Again, to the average person this might not be a big deal but someone whose emotionally fragile who is being told that everyone around might possibly be a threat you don’t think she would crack again? I think that maybe psychological thrillers are not your thing. It’s not that difficult to wait for the story to develop further before making all these claims. For all we know she could be delusional and none of the stuff is even happening. It could all be in her head.

No clue. I have no idea since it’s only been TWO episodes. All the plot has shown us thus far is that he has worked with her for 4 years. He went on a date with that girl and he might be a stalker that’s trying to kill her. That’s all we know for certain at the moment. This is a physiological thriller he literally could be anything. Is it possible that he has a crush on her? sure. However, the plot has not indicated that thus far as it has only been TWO episodes. We have to wait and see what his intentions are if he is a friend, lover or a foe.
