I find this so common in amnesia shows. People have no sympathy or understanding for the victim. They don't answer…
Thank you! You get me haha Sometimes we just say things into the lonely ether, wondering if there's a kindred spirit!
I love how you call Haneul a victim. Because he is. Surviving a car accident is very traumatic. And he's survived 2! Lots of people have PTSD post car accident, and while the show is leaning towards the dissociative amnesia as a result of him wishing to forget his romantic relationship entirely, having trauma from a car accident is not unusual either.
He knows deep down something is not right, and it's definitely going to manifest in Ep. 3/4.

I feel like it's really asking too much for a person to jump immediately into assuming such an unfamiliar life. It really struck me when they were on the beach, and he was musing about what he thought their futures would be like, how much even I've changed in 10 years. I wonder if my 19 year old self would recognize me or the life I'm living. I appreciate the show for stirring these kinds of questions within me.

I realize the MC isn't as close to his family as I am. His mom admitted after his dad died, she worked too much to pay much attention to him. And even when his sister is about to come back to the cafe, he escapes rather than waits to see her.
So how he feels about his family is likely very different. But wow, it's a little sad to see how his support system is really just his partner, his sister's employee, and his ex-girlfriend 🤣

I feel like the show does a pretty good job exploring how Hanuel feels at all about his experiences. But the other characters do a poor job understanding or empathizing with the Haneul's complicated, difficult circumstances.
Seobyeok's just straight up withholding valuable information from Haneul and then sleeps with him when he's in such a vulnerable state. He's not exactly winning me over...

That being said, I have to highlight Love You Teacher if you'd like to watch a show where the character is well taken care of by his loved ones.
After the ML is hit by a car, he continually regresses back to his 7 year old self.
The MC and the school staff are also so kind and genuinely try to help ML maintain normalcy as they balance his tenuous situation.
The show does such a good job establishing their loving relationship.
And the BEST PART is when the ML calls his mom (who lives far away from the ML-which the show establishes early on to explain why she can't be there immediately post his accident), and she explains that the MC is a good person and there to help him, but if he wants to, SHE WILL COME PICK HIM UP IMMEDIATELY. -- She wants him to try with his current, but also lets him know she will be there ASAP for him.
It's like the writers have actually considered... how normal people react.
None of Haneul's mom's weird fortune cookie speak... just normal people responding to and putting their injured/disoriented loved one first.

It was well presented. And also, the light is always around Chusan's face... love that part.
Me too 😭 I just hope Chusan is the light that saves Liuyi from his inner darkness that’s threatening to consume him atm. He was genuinely terrifying when he described his revenge, his face lit by lightning…
I also hope that Liuyi’s darkness doesn’t overtake Chusan… I’d hate for either one to be sacrificed for the benefit of the other. Just going to stay positive and assume they are able to leave unscathed when all of this is over!

The greatest torture in my life right now is having to wait an entire week to see what happens... not even a preview until the day before 😭
Chusan's hornier than ever, but also his crush is manifesting into something serious and I could see how Liuyi's resolve to turn Qinglong's gang into the biggest, strongest gang in the city ripped his heart in two. He looked like he'd been sucker punched, knowing that the two are walking towards two opposite futures. Hopefully, those futures chart a path towards the two of them ending up together, because I'm getting so anxious while watching this series. As the saying goes: to live by the sword, die by the sword 😰

This is one of the worst BL moms ever. No, she's not verbally or physically abusing her son, as we've seen in other BLs, but it's just as bad! It's abandonment!
I can't imagine my mom ever leaving my side after I wake up from a coma with dissociative amnesia. This show really made me want to call my mom and tell her I love her.
Because, without a doubt, if I looked at my mom with desperate eyes and said: I don't want to go with this strange man, I want to go home with you! she would've taken me back in a heartbeat-no questions asked! Back to the safety of my childhood bedroom, which is ACTUALLY a familiar place, where I could slowly acclimate to these changes under her care.

Everything that's happening to Haneul is literally a nightmare. I know it's just a show, but I can't shake off the unease I get from watching this.
I'm Haneul's age, so maybe this hits closer to home, but I was almost an entirely different person when I was 19 vs. today. It would be terrifying to be inside an aged body, forced into a life I've never known, made to reconcile that I've lost the last 10 years of my life....all my dreams, aspirations, memories--GONE.

Everyone's yanking my chain around, poorly explaining things to me, ordering me where to go/what to do etc., I'm forced to move into an unfamiliar home, by myself (even though, Saebyeok comes back at night, the scene of Haneul standing in the house by himself was haunting to me). It's just awful. I wake up in a shock, convincing myself that I didn't sleep with my childhood friend turned betrayer (I mean, is it even fully consensual if Haneul isn't exactly in his right mind?)
Even Saebyeok, a person Haneul has known for his entire life, is unfamiliar. It's been 10 years AND there's so much 19 year old Saebyeok never properly communicated to Haneul before the first accident.
He doesn't know this loving, mature, romantic Saebyeok. It would be less scary if Saebyeok acted more like his 19 year old self, but he can't. Because too much time has passed for both of them.
Romance aside, I feel like I'm watching a horror drama. I'm trying to remind myself this is a BL and to throw away the logic, but something about the mom abandoning Haneul to Saebyeok really set me off...

Can’t say I blame him! Chusan has good taste. Since the first scene where he’s smoking beneath a streetlight, Liuyi has been the definition of sex on a stick!

Wow, Ep. 2 was intense. The only road left to take is one paved with blood and I'm getting nervous for the leads. The love triangle between the Boss Chengqing, Older Sis Xiaoman, and Liuyi could've been a show on its own! I had a sense the Boss had feelings for Liuyi when he okayed the film being based on the story of Liuyi famously saving him from the rival gang, but the reveal at the creepy antique Christmas shop turned fancy Western dining room still caught me off guard.

Whatever medicine they've been giving the older sis was definitely tampered with to make her even crazier. I'm sure her anxiety and paranoia wasn't helping, but the moment she started popping unidentified meds, I started getting suspicious. I feel like things would've gone different if she had been taking the medication Chusan had been trying to give her.

So far so good though. There is so much lust and potential for this pair, coupled with the Wong Kar-wai aesthetics, that I know their love will set the screen on fire once it's allowed to blossom (we definitely know Chusan likes ripe šŸ‘)
But for now, I'm enjoying this Greek tragedy named Liuyi's life unfold before me. Can't wait for next week. 9 episodes feels too short, and 1 week feels too long!

Yeah, I get what you’re saying. On first watch, my understanding was that HyeSeong originally distanced himself…
Lmaooo thank you; I wasn’t sure because I was rambling so much!
Exactly, THANK YOU. You’re first and second pass at the show were the ame as mine! I also assumed they’d never been in a relationship and his repressed feelings/colorblindness drove him away and then he died. And he decided rather than complicate everything again and resurface painful feelings, it’d be best to stay away from Woojin.
But Ep. 4’s recent set of flashbacks have completely upended that theory and shown that at the very least, they were in a fledgling relationship that Hyeseong killed before it could become serious. And 1.0 Hyeseong’s treatment of Woojin, while painful, is completely understandable.
But Hyeseong’s 2.0 attitude towards Woojin makes progressively less sense when you think about it for more than 20 seconds in the context of the older sister’s relationship.
I 100% agree with your rationale- because I think that’s how a normal person would react if they thought their first love died in an unconnected freak accident. You’d be even more motivated to form a connection with that person!
It would definitely make more sense if he genuinely thought the accident in 1.0 was his fault.. it feels like him distancing himself was more for the sake of intrigue and the chase rather than the screenwriters considering it from a logical angle now.
Which is why I’m just going to delete his return to the future from my brain, enjoy the ride, and not think about it too hard haha

I still think the chemistry is hard carrying a lot of this drama, but I’m seated and interested. I don’t need it to make much sense as long as it ends on a bang and the pair keeps up their electric chemistry! It’s still the first KBL that’s caught my interest in a while and I love the characters’ relationship.

Title Always Meet Again Spoiler
I love that this is an original story, that there’s some creative twists (despite it being another time traveling drama) and the chemistry between the characters was fire, but I was a little disappointed by Ep. 4.
(Sorry in advance if this reasoning doesn't make sense).

I completely understand that in the past he didn’t want to be a burden to Woojin because of his colorblindness (monochromatic colorblindness is a significant disability—on top of only seeing shades of grade, you have terrible vision, involuntary eye movements, and intense photophobia. It’s tough to deal with and I can understand why, as a teenager, Hyeseong broke Woojin's heart on purpose to protect him (tabling also being in a same sex relationship in a conservative country circa 2008)).

But those issues completely unravel when we find out in the present timeline that Hyeseong thought that this entire time Woojin accidentally died biking to school; NOT because of anything he directly did and that his sister went to great lengths to make sure he carried zero guilt about how Woojin died. (if Hyeseong did know how Woojin ACTUALLY died trying to find him, that would make more sense why he’d stay away from Woojin in Timeline 2.0).

From Hyesong's perspective, Woojin died in a freak accident either before/after he decided to study art abroad. By that logic, Hyeseong is blameless! The only guilt he should feel is breaking up with Woojin so cruelly right before he died and using 2.0 as a chance to make him as happy as possible before he dies. BUT he still stayed away from him the second time around?

It kinda makes Hyeseong a little bit of a dick in Timeline 2.0.

Yes, his colorblindness resulted in Woojin getting his hand hurt, but all of that is lowkey INCONSEQUENTIAL if you think that he will just die randomly in the future. Like who cares if he injures his wrist if he's not going to live long enough to use it that much lol

If I didn't know the truth and though that my first love was going to die because of something I didn’t do, then I would be spending every day with them, milking our time together, because any issues that would arise because of my colorblindness isn't the actual cause of his death (or, god forbid, trying to keep him from going to school that day and getting hit by a car).

I’m happy he’s going back to the past, now knowing the truth, since he can genuinely save Woojin this time around.
But I found that entire scene with his sister so overly CONVOLUTED that I’d rather just forget that it happened haha

Can someone tell me if the book is better? That was the most anti-climatic mystery I've ever watched solved... was the murderer(s) this obvious in the book? Were the officers better at their jobs or did everyone also stumble incompetently to the finale?
Was the romance better written? I know love is illogical somtimes, but it felt like they went from checking each other out/finding each other attractive/interesting to suddenly professing marriage and plucking the moon and the stars for each other. Was the romance better paced than the novel?
I'm interested in reading it, but after watching the show, I'm just not sure...

Episode 12 of Goddess Bless You From Death is wildly frustrating to watch, but I don’t think it’s bad writing…
Thank you for writing this! I saw a bunch of angry comments, but I thought Ep. 12 played out exactly how I would expect a bunch of overworked, sabotaged cops to act while facing a supernatural serial killing father-son duo and their slit mouth woman ghost of a wife/mom.

There’s literally no backup to call, no safety net to fall back on (and even if they did, who would they trust in the department at this point, outside of their inner circle?).
It was established last week that the case is ā€œclosedā€ and the team has been suspended. Only this tight knit, ragtag group of justice pursuers stands between Bangkok and trained murderers with 25 years of experience under their belt.
Except for Thup, who lies on the peripheries of law enforcement, and Darin, who’s too weak from the curse to think straight, nobody on the team believed in ghost until a few days ago, so they’re far outside their wheelhouse in that department as well.
They have no choice but to charge in somewhat blind, because they lack the resources, and there’s no handbook for arresting a ghost controlled by a twisted man, who also has police experience and has become a pro at covering his tracks and hiding in plain sight.
And on top of being exhausted, Singha is also terribly injured, so when he’s being attacked on the other end of the receiver, I’d expect nothing less than for Thup to rush in and attempt to save him, foolish and frustrating as it is to watch as the viewer. If Thup didn’t leave the car, then he wouldn’t be the loyal, Golden Retriever of a man I’ve come to love.
Am I worried for all the characters? Yes. But the show has been solid and thoroughly enjoyable, so, like you, I’m trusting the process. The only way out is through; it was always going to end violently at the place where everything began.

It’s really hard not to compare this with Goddess Bless You From Death, even though one is a supernatural-horror, while the other is a thriller, simply because the author is the same. So it’s like a study in watching 2 companies interpretation of the same BL author. And one production house is killing it-outside of minor issues that all shows suffer from and the age-old plot change controversies that adapted works struggle with, and the other production house is dropping the ball a little bit.

I really want to like this series. JoongDunk are such a charismatic couple. And I love me a good thriller-mystery; smash that with a BL and I’m usually in heaven, but oh man, this is just not doing it for me.
Shelving the shoddy police work for someone more versed in this world, the romance/romantic development feels 00s romcom level forced. Someone below said it's just the story of two people falling for each other due to forced proximity, and I can't agree more... but it's not even sexy forced. It's just procedural job forced (and their jobs of running around, questioning students, barely interests me since they're in the preliminary stages of the investigation atm. Thank god the killer is out here keeping it fresh).

The blend between romance and cop work is really sloppy.
It's a procedural cop show, but we have to throw in some BL to keep the fans appealed. The sad part is, the BL they throw in feels awkward and disjointed and the cop work just feels cheap. So in the end, it feels like no one wins....

Also, I understand that Jade is attracted to Kamin’s work ethic, his sense of justice, his delicious hotness, but it feels really strange that a grown man is SO hung up on being in a relationship with a man he barely knows and more conflictingly, is his hard-ass boss of all people. Jade acts like a virgin who has met his first love and his only experience with love is through BLs.

If they jumped into FWB because they’re both hot and attractive, as Kamin suggested (which I’m already a little surprised about since he seems the type who’d want to wait till after their case together is over before getting frisky), I would be more understanding. But instead Jade's practically ready to put a ring on it and gets all mopey over his not-boyfriend-crush-boss being hit on by the forensic doctor 🤣 It feels more like what Joong would do than Dunk.

And then outside of Joong’s perfect body and being protected once or twice, I have no idea what Kamin sees in Jade. I don’t even really understand Kamin’s character tbh. He’s portrayed as the ideal, white knight police officer. But then, he flirts with his subordinate, moves in with subordinate (which was by the way, the strangest transition), kisses his subordinate… is he a cop who plays by the rules and seeks justice at all costs to offset Jade’s devil may care, rough around the edges personality? Or is that just a ruse for a morally grey, plays- with-fire boss who toys with his subordinate’s feelings? Idk, I can't put a finger on Kamin's character because the show doesn't give us much, and what they do give us regularly conflicts with his actions.

All this is to say, I'm going to keep watching and pray that the character and relationship development improves over the course of the show.

Haha true, you couldn’t invest $1 as you could today (I mean, you actually could, but the risks and difficulty were much higher), but it was just as a hypothetical to show how good the return on investment was pre- March 2000. Plus, Armin would’ve had much more access to money than his portfolio would suggest since I know TD would be funding his dreams šŸ˜‚ (oh, if only I’d offered cup noodles to the wealthy heir in the 80s/90s and then time traveled to the past…MSFT stocks here I come (man, that’s a lot of if’s) I probably would’ve gone the route of investing in pennys stock, if given initial lack of funding. Or possibly gone the route of buying low interest leveraged bonds. Given the fact he died at 50, I think he’d probably be more money savvy, and coupled with his knowledge of the past, I think he could do quite well for himself. Especially since TD would’ve helped him with whatever venture Armin would’ve set his mind to. If Armin decided one day he was going to become a fianance tycoon instead of an actor, you know TD would be helping him every step of the way šŸ˜‚
I think Armin honestly has untreated PTSD given the way he died and his past experiences; he’d benefit greatly from therapy šŸ¤£šŸ™

Just to humor you, but you really didn’t need to invest that much money in tech stock before the Dotcom Bubble (hence the stock market crash). For example, since he went back in 1999, if he’d invested even $1 in Xcelera.com, he could’ve made $139 USD (pre-inflation) before the market crashed. Even using some money from his part time job could’ve netted him quite a bit of money to retire somewhere with low COL and good savings.
I get that acting is his passion, but I just find it funny that he’s always upset that he’s meeting one of his enemies. Like what does he expect when the Thai entertainment industry is so small and his enemies are so famous. Of course he will meet them again unless he wants to act elsewhere. Hence my joking response. But you taking it so seriously is even funnier šŸ˜‚

I love this drama, but whenever I watched Armin crash out over meeting his another nemesis in the entertainment industry, I just think about how much faster this story would've ended if Armin left acting and just invested in some 90s stock before the Dotcom Bubble and then peaced out to an island in the South Pacific.

Yeah.... it's so messed up that the ML has known this since he first met the MC, but no one ever tells him... 😩 Even the psychiatrist was like: oh well~ It is what it is šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø I wanted to scream at the end...
They're all just happy that the ML is finally taking his medication and the couple is happy... All the characters need to get exorcised except the MC lol
It really is! I need all the Black Flags to get their comeuppance. I actually don't mind the twist; there's so many dramas where the MC can see ghosts atp that psychosis is actually a breath of fresh air.
But I can't root for a relationship that propagates such an enormous lie... I really hope the show fixes this... I hope you're right that Santa's character puts two-and-two together or he has better friends in the show... or Perth's character tells the truth-that would be even better.
But thanks for riding this wave with me... I'm still flabbergasted haha

I want to guess alone, but the forensic doctor is also sus. Or maybe he's an acquaintance of the culprit. Fai…
I was literally just thinking the same thing! The only person who would know Puifai was raped by Tar AND care enough to get revenge seems to be Puifai herself (since the entire friend group is a den of snakes). At first I thought it was a I Know What You Did Last Summer scenario due to that bloody 5 second flashback, but after the serial killer locked on Tar because of SAing Puifai, I had it in my mind that it's Puifai committing the crimes. And the forensic doctor has to be in on it, since he's the one who has handled her entire autopsy- even outside of his jurisdiction. It's all really sus to me!

Why?
1) The series just ends so abruptly. I thought I was going crazy when I got to the final chapter 😭 2) You learn that there are no ghosts and the MC and ML share joint psychosis. Which I guess is an interesting twist, but I think what I didn’t like is that you find out the ML has been hallucinating about ghosts for years (at the end, it’s revealed he starts taking his psychiatric meds once he is in a happy stable relationship with the MC). He knows they are hallucinations and that the MC’s ā€œghostā€ are also hallucinations. But he uses the MC’s cowardly nature and fear of ghosts to manipulate him saying that he is the only one who can get the MC’s heart to race fast enough to get rid of the ghosts. So he pretty much gaslights the MC into letting him touch him, kiss him, move in together, and then later tells him that if they have sex, he will stop seeing ghosts entirely. Of course he knows this isn’t true and that the MC will agree. I believe that the MC would’ve slept with him anyways, ghost or not, so it’s not dubcon… but their whole relationship was built on the premise of the lie… and then I kept waiting for him to say: psyche! They’re not real~ But no, it just ends with them having sex and the side characters finding out that the whole thing was BS. And he never tells the MC ever… it was just… strange… Like if my partner withheld that from me when all along I could’ve gotten psychiatric help, I’d be a little angry…
