š Johan and North Stole My Heart ā Best BL Couple Ever!Rating: 10/10
Fourever You is a shining gem in the world of Thai BL, delivering a rare blend of emotional depth, strong character dynamics, and feel-good storytelling. After watching Perfect 10 Liners, I came into this series with high expectationsāand it absolutely did not disappoint. Both shows are must-watches: cute, non-toxic, and filled with supportive friendships and an incredibly charming cast. I was so hooked that I binged all 17 episodes in just three sittings!
š Story & Characters
The series follows four close friendsāEaster, Hill, North, and Johanāas they navigate university life, personal growth, and romantic relationships. While it took me a bit to warm up to the first few episodes (especially with Ter/Easter, played by Earth), I gradually grew to appreciate his character more. Iāve loved Earth since My Only 12% and Until We Meet Again, but here his character felt a bit immature at first. That said, his friendship with North was a highlightāsupportive, wholesome, and real. My only small critique is that Ter studies veterinary science, yet we never see him interact with animals or do anything related to his fieldāmost of his screen time involves art classes, which feels like a missed opportunity.
Hill (Pond) is visually stunning and has undeniable screen presence. I really enjoyed his calm yet captivating portrayal and canāt wait to see him in his upcoming series Reset. As a couple, HillTer has great chemistry, and I would rate their pairing an 8/10.
š But the real stars for me are Johan and North. This couple completely stole the show. Johan (Maxky) is tall, handsome, smart (a med student!), and comes from wealthāheās the full package. Paired with North (Bas), who is just adorable, genuine, and emotionally expressive, they became one of the best BL couples Iāve ever seen. I wholeheartedly agree with the many MDL and YouTube comments: JohanNorth is top-tier BL couple goals. Their dynamic felt mature, affectionate, and deeply romantic. JohanNorth couple rating: 10/10 ā perfect chemistry, perfect pacing, and emotionally fulfilling.
šØ Important Viewing Tip: Watch the Uncut Version!
Please allow me to emphasize this: do not watch the cut version available on YouTube. I strongly recommend watching the uncut version. While it may only be a few minutes longer per episode, those minutes are crucial. They contain key emotional scenes that elevate the storytelling significantly.
Take Episode 15, for instance. After Johan returns from Boston, there's a heartfelt rooftop moment where he asks North to be his boyfriend. They hug and share two intense, passionate kissesānone of which are included in the YouTube cut. Having compared both versions myself, I can confidently say the uncut version offers a much richer and more emotionally complete experience. Donāt miss out on that depthāitās well worth it.
š¬ Production & Final Thoughts
Studio Wabi Sabi continues to deliver. While Thai BL production budgets may not always match those of Korean dramas, the chemistry, storytelling, and emotional payoff are all there. The show is visually appealing, the pacing is smooth, and the soundtrack enhances the atmosphere beautifully.
Fourever You is the kind of series that sneaks up on you emotionally. Itās about friendship, love, and growing into the people youāre meant to beāwith lots of heart along the way. Iām already counting down to Season 2, especially to see more of the other three couples.
Highly recommended for anyone who loves soft, romantic BLs with real emotional impact and a cast that feels like family. 10/10. š«
š A Love That Defied Death ā Haunting, Beautiful, and UnforgettableRating: 8.5/10
Eternal Yesterday (Eien no Kino) is one of those dramas that only Japan could come up withāwhere else would you get a love story involving a literal living corpse? And yet, despite the strange and surreal premise, it works so beautifully. Itās poetic, heart-wrenching, and unforgettable.
From the very beginning, itās clear this is a story about love at first sightāon both sides. The connection between Koichi and Mitsuru (Micchan) is instant and intense, and the drama does a beautiful job exploring the depth of their bond, even when death gets in the way.
I absolutely loved Koichi. He was so protective of Mitsuru from the startāwhether it was standing up to bullies in the classroom or always walking on the traffic side of the road to shield him. Ironically, that very habit led to the truck accident that took his life. Speaking of the truckāhonestly, the driver should have been fined or jailed. He was clearly speeding and caused Koichiās death. But even after being hit, Koichi got up and his first thought was still Micchan. That says everything about the kind of person he isāselfless and full of love. Even in their final moments together, he was still thinking about Micchanās future, saying he couldnāt leave his ācorpseā behind because it wouldnāt look good for Micchan. It broke me. He was always putting Micchan first.
And then there was that final scene. The crying, the love-making, the constant exchange of āI love youāsāGod, it was so emotional. Koichi knew he was disappearing soon, and his tears showed just how much he didnāt want to leave. Meanwhile, Micchan tried so hard to comfort him, saying things like āYou are the one I love the most,ā āI will never forget you,ā and āYouāll always be my number one until I die.ā Those words hit so hard. It was painful to watch two people love each other so deeply and still have to say goodbye.
Overall, Eternal Yesterday is an incredible seriesāunusual, emotional, and deeply moving. The plot and chemistry are everything. My only wish is that Japan would invest a bit more in the production quality of their BL dramas. Compared to Korean or Thai BL, the visuals and cinematography here felt a little lackingābut the story and the emotional depth absolutely make up for it.
If youāre looking for a BL thatās raw, touching, and unique, this one is a must-watch.
I initially thought Episode 1 last week was intense, but the first ten minutes of Episode 2 this week blew everything out of the water ā the heat was absolutely palpable. Jun sliding onto Sornās lap, the teasing lip kiss, the slow-burning music, and the pink and purple haze created a scene dripping with seduction. It delivered one of the most electrifying and provocative kisses Iāve seen in a long time. Junās innocent belief that Sorn was merely āteachingā him how to kiss made the moment even more sinful, especially with Sorn savoring every second with unmistakable hunger. The first ten minutes of Episode 2 didnāt just maintain the tension ā it turned it into a smoldering fire. The plot might be wild and utterly ridiculous, but honestly, Iām completely addicted.
what's the difference between the cut and uncut ver. ???
Please allow me to emphasize this: do not watch the cut version available on YouTube. Instead, I strongly recommend watching the uncut version. While it may only be a few minutes longer, those minutes include several key scenes that are completely omitted in the edited release.
For example, in Episode 15, during the rooftop scene after Johan returns from Boston, he asks North to be his boyfriend. After North agrees, they share a heartfelt hug followed by two intense and passionate kissesānone of which are included in the cut version.
Having compared both versions myself, I can confidently say that the uncut version offers a much richer and more emotionally complete experience. I highly recommend watching it to fully appreciate the story and character development.
A Beautiful Anthology of Brief but Sweet BL Stories
Close To You is a breezy and heartwarming Korean BL anthology that offers a sweet glimpse into four different love stories, each capturing the delicate moments of unspoken affection, shy glances, and emotional firsts. The drama introduces us to eight male leads, and let's just sayāevery single one of them is absolutely stunning and gorgeous. The casting is definitely a visual treat, and each pair brings their own unique charm.
Since it's an anthology, each couple only gets under 20 minutes of screen time, which does feel a bit rushed. While the format keeps the pace light and engaging, a little over 30 minutes per episode would have allowed for deeper plot development and more time for the chemistry to fully bloom. As it stands, the stories are enjoyable but leave you wishing for just a bit more.
What really works in Close To You is its positive and non-toxic tone. Thereās no angst-heavy drama or manipulative charactersājust four different narratives of love in its many early forms. From school crushes to workplace pining, each story brings something different to the table, which helps the series feel fresh throughout.
Overall, Close To You is a feel-good, easy-to-watch BL that delivers on visual appeal, sweet moments, and variety. With just a bit more runtime, it couldāve gone from great to unforgettable. Final Score: 8/10
Exclusive Love (12 Episodes Completed) ā Gorgeous Men, Sizzling Chemistry⦠and a Plot That Did Them Dirty
Okay so... I just finished Exclusive Love and my brain is melting but also mildly raging?? š
First off, letās talk visuals. ALL FOUR main guys? Literal walking perfection. Like, did the casting team just raid heaven?? Tang DuZhi and Wang Zhan had me staring at my screen like š« every time they shared a scene. And donāt even get me started on Zhang YiQing and Tu JingHeāthose high school flashbacks?? TOO CUTE, I was kicking my feet fr.
And episodes 11 and 12?? MAāAM. The NC scenes were š„š„š„. Steamy, emotional, intenseāthe chemistry between both couples was insane. I was living for every second.
One scene that broke me: Tang DuZhi secretly listening to Wang Zhan sing after losing his parents. Like?? The pain?? The love?? He never even told him. I was curled up in a ball sobbing.
Also... WHY are both couples acting like they're in a slow-burn soap opera when they've already admitted feelings??? Tang DuZhi and Wang Zhan playing emotional ping-pong, and YiQing still going through with a marriage after confessing to Tu JingHe??? Itās giving frustration. Just kiss and be together omg.
And donāt even get me started on that ending. 12 episodes and they CRAM everything into the finaleāconfessions, NC scenes, then suddenly both couples are married?? No proposals, no proper resolution?? Girl, I needed at least two more episodes for that emotional payoff!
Iām giving it an 8/10 because the cast and the chemistry CARRIED. But man⦠this was a waste of such an insanely beautiful cast. Give them a better script next time š
Around six minutes into episode one, one of the students says, "I heard he transferred here after killing a kid."
I finished season one last month, but I donāt recall SiEun killing anyone. He did injure a few of his classmates as part of SuHoās revenge, but can anyone clarify who he supposedly killed?
It's just three people who voted early, no need to be dramatic. This always happens.
Iām not being dramaticāI just honestly didnāt know early voting was even possible. I always thought at least one episode had to be out for a while before people could rate it. Even if itās just a few votes, those early ratings can influence others. For me, itās not about overreactingāitās about fairness and the credibility of the system.
10/10 Review for Pit Babe ā A Thai BL Masterpiece
What an absolute masterpiece! I binged all 13 episodes of Pit Babe in just two days ā that's how hooked I was. From the very first episode to the last, not a single moment felt boring or out of place. Itās been a long time since a series gripped me this hard, and I couldnāt stop watching.
One thing that immediately stood out to me was the absence of any female characters ā not even in supporting roles ā which is honestly so refreshing. It created a uniquely immersive atmosphere, centered entirely around the relationships and dynamics between the male leads, and it worked perfectly.
The genre itself is such a breath of fresh air ā car racing and garage life? Yes, please! Finally, a Thai BL that's not set in a university or high school. The adrenaline, the heat, the roaring engines ā it all added a thrilling edge that elevated the story beyond the typical love-line drama.
Letās talk about the acting: Pavel absolutely stole the show. His performance was packed with raw emotion ā every time he cried, I cried. And visually? His face is just stunning to look at, expressive in a way that made every scene hit even harder. Charlie, on the other hand, brought such tenderness to the series. His unwavering love and devotion, no matter how many times Babe turned him down, made my heart ache in the best way. He was the definition of a sweet, loyal boyfriend.
The rest of the cast? Just as incredible. Every actor brought depth to their role and their visuals? Top-tier. Talented, gorgeous, and completely convincing in every scene.
As far as action BLs go, Pit Babe is right up there as one of the best I've ever seen. The blend of fast cars, high stakes, and raw emotional intensity was already amazing ā and then they gave us that NC scene. Hot. Steamy. Unforgettable. 10/10.
Iām beyond excited for Season 2, which is dropping next week ā but Iām not emotionally ready to watch only one episode per week. The wait is going to kill me! š
