Review Deep In
I’ve said this before, but the director was so clever with this concept. It feels like we’re getting two series in one, and it works so well.

The acting is absolutely top notch. When he revealed that he had been SA’d, the crying and emotional breakdown felt so real. Then the director calls “cut,” and they instantly have to switch back into a completely different role. Playing two different characters in the same series and constantly adjusting between them is incredibly difficult.

What makes it even more impressive is how young they are. Ollie is only 20 and was probably 19 during filming, while the Shu Yuan is just 22. They both delivered performances far beyond their years. They’re incredibly talented, and I really hope they get another series together.

On top of that, the director for this series, Liu Jun Hao, is only 27. He’s both an actor and a director, and the way he brought this story to life was so impressive. All three of them are so young and incredibly talented.

Agreed. A flight attendant and a factory worker would work well for this series.

Funny you mentioned construction. In Western Australia, the mining industry is booming. Some mining jobs can pay up to $500,000 a year, with accommodation and meals fully covered. That’s more than many doctors earn, even though becoming a doctor usually requires more than seven years of study, while some mining roles don’t require a university degree.

I’m Asian myself, but I’m glad I grew up in a Western country where people are generally treated the same regardless of their job or their sexuality.

I know this is a fictional story, and they probably included this plot for comedy and entertainment, but it's something I see far too often in real life. I've travelled to many countries across Asia, and I've seen how people from lower-income backgrounds or those with less prestigious jobs are sometimes treated with far less respect than those who are wealthy or hold high-status positions. Obviously, not everyone is like this, but it happens often enough that it stands out.

If the family can accept Kanit for being gay, then they should also accept Toto for being a rescuer. He saves lives every single day, so why should he have to pretend to be a flight captain just to earn their respect? His profession is honest, meaningful, and helps people. That should matter far more than a prestigious job title.

This is something I struggle to understand about many Asian cultures, where career status often seems to define a person's worth. I'm from Australia, and the mindset is quite different here. Some plumbers and electricians earn more than doctors and lawyers, yet people don't judge them because of their occupation. An honest job is an honest job, and everyone deserves the same respect regardless of their title. What should matter is someone's character, not the prestige attached to their profession.

BL logic, I guess? Well, I sure hope things like this don't happen in Thailand, where people don't help 😬
Not related but recently an Aussie accused of killing a 17 year old girl in Thailand, putting her body in a suitcase, and dumping it like trash.

Thankfully, he was arrested at the airport before he could fly back to Australia. I hope the victim and her family get justice. Thailand has different laws from Australia, including the possibility of the death penalty, I hope he get the death penalty as we don't want him back.

Title Don't Be Too Emotional Spoiler
Zero logic
It was revealed that she cheated on her ex boyfriend and stole money from him. Even so, I don’t think violence solves anything, especially assaulting someone in public like that.

The ex boyfriend assaulted that girl on campus and literally got away with it. He dragged her into the car while all the students just stood there watching. If this happened in Australia, he would almost certainly end up in prison, and she would likely be able to get a restraining order against him. I’m also surprised there wasn’t any campus security around to step in.

Xiao Fan character is irritating me if this continues I will stop watching after ep 5.
He’s a country boy, so his character is supposed to be like that. I actually like that he’s vulnerable, gentle, and a bit of a pushover. If he were just another smart, confident character, it would make the story much less interesting and the plot would feel more generic.

I have a feeling his character is going to change completely, though. We still have eight episodes left, so I’m expecting some major character development.

That kissing scene downstairs while his dad and sister were upstairs had me so nervous. Then he whispered, “Keep it quiet,” and the tension instantly went up another level. It was such an intense and thrilling scene to watch. After what happened in The Edge of Horizon, I’m really hoping they don’t get caught by the father.
