I’m really looking forward to it — our first proper Chinese historical/martial arts BL. It feels like such a big step for the genre, and I can’t wait to see how they bring it to life!

When it comes to potential, Thailand 🇹🇭, South Korea 🇰🇷, and Taiwan 🇹🇼 simply can’t match China in certain areas. China dominates in cinematography, acting, storytelling, chemistry—and let’s not even start on their costume dramas and fight scenes. The scale, elegance, and intensity are just on another level.

Take The Untamed for example—it was heavily censored and still pulled in billions of views. Now imagine the impact of a high-quality, uncensored Chinese BL with the same level of production. The talent is already there—they just need the freedom to fully unleash it.

Here’s hoping that in the next 20+ years, a new generation of leadership in China 🇨🇳 will be more open and accepting, because when that happens… the world won’t be ready.

For me, it’s never about the sexuality of the drama—it’s about the plot, acting, and genre. For example, I love Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad just as much as I love Call Me By Your Name or Brokeback Mountain. The same goes for TV dramas—whether it’s The Glory (K-drama) or Heartstopper (BL), what matters is how well the story is told.

As for Revenged Love, yes, it’s one of the first Chinese BL to break through heavy censorship, but its success isn’t just about being “uncut” or having NC scenes. It’s because it has great acting, a strong plot, and genuine chemistry between the leads—things any good drama needs to succeed.

Secondly, I’m a 30-year-old guy from all the way in Australia, and most of my friends watch this too. Unless you have actual data or evidence to prove that the majority of viewers are underage teenage girls, it’s not fair to make that claim without solid proof.

And even if there are under-18 teenage girls watching, there’s nothing wrong with that either—good shows are for everyone to enjoy, regardless of age.

Because episode 19 is 45 minutes and episode 20 is also 45 minutes, and episode 19 only aired an hour ago, it’s impossible to have finished both without speeding through — that’s 90 minutes of content in just 60 minutes.

I have to say, Revenged Love is one of the top-rated shows on both MDL and IMDb for a reason—it’s loved by millions around the world.
Like you mentioned, you’ve only watched 1 episode out of 24—that’s around 4% of the whole story. Maybe give it a couple more episodes before making a final judgment.

For me, it’s a masterpiece because of the amazing acting, well-paced and engaging plot (I was never bored for a second), and the incredible chemistry between the leads. The tension, emotion, and connection feel so real that you can’t help but get pulled in.

I’ve watched over 300+ BLs in the past 10 years, and I’m comfortable saying this is my favourite one—it ticks all the boxes for me. Sometimes, you just have to let a story unfold before deciding if it’s worth it.

while his partner misunderstood and thought he was still running back to his ex.

The only way I can imagine her truly winning our hearts back
is in Episode 19 at the hospital—
she reaches out with trembling hands,
holding Chi Cheng in one hand and Wu Suo Wei in the other.
Through tears, she whispers:

“I accept you. I accept your love with Chi Cheng.
He is a good man with a good heart, unlike your ex, Yue Yue.
It’s okay if I never get grandkids,
because I will soon see your father in heaven.
All I want… is for you to be happy, my loving son.”

If that moment comes, it will break me completely…
and yet, it will heal everything too. 🥀

According to industry sources, the film has several scenes shot in Tianjin, and coincidentally, this coming September, Tianjin will host the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit – a major international event attended by many heads of state.

Along with that comes an extremely strict media censorship period, especially for film content featuring images related to areas where the event is taking place. Moreover, August and September also include major holidays such as August 15 (Victory over Japan Day) and September 3 (National Military Parade), so “laying low” is perfectly understandable.

That is why the production team decided to speed up and shorten the overall broadcast schedule – to wrap up early, avoiding sensitive timing and unnecessary troubles from the censorship process.

I was shocked too when I heard the news—and honestly, I got emotional knowing this masterpiece will end so soon. 💔

Firstly, instead of ending on 26th August, it will now wrap up on 12th August. That’s only 2 weeks ahead of schedule, not an entire month. And really, that’s not bad. It’s not like they fast track 10 episodes—just 5.

Secondly, I’d much rather finish this masterpiece in 5 days than live with the fear that the homophobic censorship in China could cancel it altogether. Remember that week when Revenged Love didn’t air, and we all panicked? I don’t ever want to feel that again.

So yes, it’s bittersweet—but once it’s finished, we can rewatch it as many times as we want, dive into the BTS clips, and keep discussing it here.
