I don’t know what episode this is yet, but it’s so annoying how the same co-worker is always sabotaging her.…
I'm referring to episode 1, which is what set the firefighters against her in the first place. I feel like, after he got to know her, he was bound to ask because it wouldn't make sense to him.
That coworker was really just...ugh..

I'm not discounting her yet either. I think she maybe SY 2.0. While initially she may become friends with Mudan…
It would be nice to see her attempt to do something, only to not follow through. I don't think JCY will trust her for a second, but Mudan has already been clear that she will not be mean to her or hate her. I think Mudan will want to trust her and may let her guard down. I love that Mudan desires to lift women up, but she needs to remember that this woman is an enemy spy.

First of all let's look at Mudan's status, she's a merchant which is a very low status and also she was a slave…
He's ready to be an uncle.

She should be carefull about the other concubine. That's what i was thinking bt then she came out with her business…
I'm not discounting her yet either. I think she maybe SY 2.0. While initially she may become friends with Mudan and care about her....pressure from her Prince Ning (and the Princess) will ultimately cause her to try to do harm.

I think we also need to remember that JCY is clearly terrified that he will 1) be like his father and 2) not be able to protect her. I think Mudan is completely aware of his feelings for her, but is also aware that something holds him back. While he probably would've consummated their marriage if she was willing, he clearly isn't ready to admit his feelings for her...For the sake of the evolution of their story arc, it also makes sense that she not be his principal wife until they are both ready to acknowledge their feelings. I absolutely expect to see another wedding for them in s2, after they share their feelings and get rid of the sister wife... probably with the blessing of the Emperor....whose probably also picked out the names to their unborn children already.

Is it considered a trope when a FL is smart and good at reading people/situations but doesn’t realize the ML…
I think she probably knows, but he has also told her he never wants to marry. She has given him chances (I feel) to confess his feelings, but he doesn't. So she doesn't. I think their both waiting for the other person to confess.

I feel like their both kind of aware of the others feelings, but are afraid to say it first.

I honestly want to throw up. I hope he doesn't sleep with her...and I'm worried about Mudan's reaction.
I knew he didn't want anything to do with her. I think one of his biggest fears is being like his father, and he so clearly all about Mudan....but it sounded like Prince Ning was going to leave someone there to 'watch' and force him to bed her. It honestly made me sick. I still want to throw up.

He left a new cushy seat, a new grill, brings food over, and the swings. Yes, I think he goes over there because he wants to spend time with her, but I think he uses her cooking for him as his excuse to give her things. I mean, one time he had like 10 servants walk in with supplies so she could cook for him.

Its only a cage for her, if he makes it one. Which we know he won't, and I think she does too.
Actions speak more than words. WQ proved over and over he was a horrible person. JCY proves over and over he is a good person. If she doesn't have faith in him already then nothing he says will change it.

Anyone else think that the reason JCY keeps having Mudan cook for him, is because he actually uses that as an excuse to give her things that improve her quality of life without her refusing?

Sheng Yi is not a good comparison. She had no choice in her marriage (the first time) and did not know Wan Qing before she married him. She also has no self-esteem and inability to judge a good character. Whereas Mudan has witnessed countless times showcasing JCY good character and him doing good things without recognition. Mudan is intelligent, self-confident, and already has a good grasp on his character. Not to mention, right now JCY literally owns her, so if he would have a sudden character shift and turn out to be like Wan Qing now would be the time for him to do that because she cannot gain her freedom unless he is willing to let her go. And yet, he's already told her that she can come and go and do whatever she pleases and already promised to set her free as soon as its safe to do so. Marrying him, would require him to set her free first, but ultimately would be less restrictive then the 'cage' he could create for her now if he wanted.

The one time I wish a corrupt official who loves their kid, would send someone to kill off the man they love......they let them marry them instead.
