Just watched 11/12: Definitely fun watching him realize his feelings. His mom was in the wrong for making a promise like that. That drunk scene was hilarious...personally I don't think DJX is gonna feel sad about her chest. But him trying to make sense of what she was crying about and not laugh, was hilarious.

She tracks her down and follows her into a bathroom, yeah. Afterward, SZ decides she can't bear for him to be alone anymore and runs to tell him she says yes.

I don't know how the timeline will be in the show...but it was only like 2 weeks in the book. Something happens and SZ decides she doesn't want to wait or make him wait anymore.

That was my plan. I gave up.

Their not really against the relationship, but are putting on a show. They actually like him quite a bit and think very highly of him. They are concerned, because they are aware of his stalker and worried for her safety. But them bringing up his 'family condition (his father and his lack of wealth) is more about them testing him and her about how serious they are about the future and getting him to consider what he plans on doing to create a stable living environment for a family. Once he sits down with them and tells them his plans for the future and tells them that he has dealt with his stalker, they give their blessing. They even tell DJX that as her parents, they view it as their responsibility to meddle a bit.

I'd like to know too. I keep checking and it still says 'episode drops friday.'

Anyone manage to locate and english translation of the book?

Actually you find out that both parents have no idea how many times he's saved her. They don't even know about her being in the earthquake.....which I find super messed up that neither of her parents realized she was missing for like a week.

Just finished episodes 9/10. I know she is starting to realize how alone and isolated he was, and that her decision to cut him out of her life had hurt him. But I think, at the time, she made the right choice for herself. She couldn't spend her life fixated and planning her life around him and she needed to grow up. Plus, she doesn't know (yet) about his life before they met. If they stick to the book, even though their parents know, not even SY knew. I also think that even though he might finally be aware that he has feelings for her in episode 11, I think it really started the moment he saw her again at the bar(I don't base this on the show but how in the book one of the first things he notices about her when he sees her again, is how great she looks). If not, definitely in the hospital because of how he asked for advice from his boss to understand how he might have upset her. I don't think he would've asked for advice if his feelings weren't already changing.

I also didn't like that they kind of 'dumbed her down' for the show. In the books she admitted that her homework and lectures were too easy thats why she didn't want to do that, and even without paying attention in class or steadily doing her homework, in junior high she still was ranked #1 in her grade on test scores, and only got knocked out of top 10 because of her physics grade. Then in High School she was basically listed as the smarted student in school. But the only time the show listed rank in she was listed at 20th place ( I think) and had to work up to top ten to get into YiHe university.

I just finished the novel, and I do think most of the changes they made were for the better. The only thing I didn't really like is that they kept the initial meeting for when she was 13/14, and then aged her up to 17 for the rest of the 'pre-university arc'. I would've rather they either kept the original time line of most of it happening when she was 13-15, then flying to see him when she was 16. OR, changed it all to happen when she was 17. I don't think the 2 years between the first meeting and the second, makes any sense.

Just finished episode 8.....and went back to watch the credits of every episode I saw so far...lol....I was wondering where the scene of him finding the red envelope was...haha

On episode 7, the only thing about this show that I'm struggling with is the flight to YiHe she took to see the 'internet boyfriend'....All I keep thinking is if I had done that when I was a teen, my parents would've unalived me where I stood.

To be fair, she's not really doing on purpose. His sudden switch of behavior has left her pretty confused. I also think he is right in not just going 'Hey, I know you like me, I like you too. Let's go out.' He understands that its just words, he needs to show her that he no longer views her as his little sister. He needs to treat her like she is someone he views as a potential romantic partner.

I'm basing this off of seeing the flashback that will happen later where his mother promises the family that she and he will pay whatever the courts decide they should pay, and that was while he was still in High School...and I already know his mother dies shortly after that...I've only watched through episode 6 so far.

yeah, but that was the last payment and its during when SZ is already talking to him again right? And his payments started when he was 18?

So...saw a clip, not there yet in the show, but DJX has been paying the equivalent of roughly $1150 a month for nearly 6 years to JY!?!? Is that correct?

I just finished part one of the novel, there was no sketchbook scene. They didn't even visit the science museum. She asked him not to date, and it kind of made DJX uncomfortable. She overheard him asking her brother if she did in fact ask him not to date also. SY replied with 'Yeah...when she was 8 years old, she asked and cried a lot about it.' DJX asked him 'And now?' SY answered, 'Now she thinks I couldn't get a girlfriend if I wanted one.' Which confused DJX because she told him she asked her brother not to date too, so she comes up with the internet boyfriend story she was afraid he was figuring out her feelings because she asked him not to date.
