I also hope its not a Romance drama . It would a different drama that she has not taken on till now something that shows a strong female character without a romance subplot.
She might also try such type of series to do genres she hasn't done before.
Obviously its still a buzzing info that hasn't been having any official confirmation yet they had said her next modern drama will be discussed and signed on January so we might get more accurate information then.

Not sure but I think in for Chinese netizens I think Republican drama genre does hold special values and recognition when done right ? Its a delicate theme to handle since it should be historically accurate and it shouldn't piss the higher ups aka Censor boards and other officials. So yeah these dramas should be more serious types but what you said is kind of true.

She did mention about wanting to do a republican drama in her interview so this might be the project.

I have heard that it might not be a romance based series at all probably thats why if at all "Wang Lei" is casted , it might be the reason. They probably would be some deuteragonist series about politics espionage etc.

Heard the buzz in twitter from Lusi's fans dont know about casting but it seems true that her next drama is republican themed drama called Zhendi.

Officially its not announced but there is confirmation for it being ready to broadcast early December according to Tencent and Mango TV.
Many Cdrama usually just drop just like that many times but since they are releasing new posters , promos and saying broadcast times in their official accounts I am sure they will be releasing it this December anyways.

I am not sure its mainly known a s Xianxia probably the wrong tag but according to the novel tags in the official online publication site jjwxc it should be xianxia only.
