So well explained. Simply make us love the Marquis even more. How much more smitten could XZ be? 🥰
He loved her so very much it feels like he has 2 personalities, with her and with his people 😅

I thought it was because shes used to using both hands instead one with a sword but then they edited it out for…
I watched Dune for TC 😂 so I gladly accepted the adaptation.

TLOTR got good adaptation too but for many others, I usually 'forgot' the books and just enjoyed the films/series.
For Cdramas, the first pages I joined were filled with complaints from book readers. On Weibo, the fight was even worse with drama lovers got so upset and told the book readers to stick to their books and not watch the drama.
Ever since then, I only read the novel when - like you- I have time or when the drama is over

Maybe later. I only watch the drama and read bits of the novel (the ending and extra chapters) so I am just happy with what I get from the drama.
Most of the time I read disappointment expressed by novel readers, so I choose not to read the novel, not until the drama is over.

He made 2 blades because that's Changyu's specialty right? She uses both her hands when in battle mode.
Yes, Martial artist who used 2 blades will continue using 2.
But instead of using 1 big one and a smaller one to 'slice' the opponent, Xie Zheng made twin blades since he wanted her to use finesse more than brute force when she engaged in a fight. IMHO.

Why did Xie Zheng forge the twin blades instead of having them done?

In fiction, creating a blade for a loved one is a profound act of service, often representing protection, devotion, and a literal forging of a bond.
These narratives frequently blend themes of romance, sacrifice, and craftsmanship, where the weapon is as much a gift of love as it is a tool of war.

Xie Zheng used the broken short blade and merged it into the new twin blades is what fiction calls Symbolic Transformation, where the character (XZ) taking a significant item—like a previous tool or heirloom—and reforging it into a new blade for their wife or partner (CY).
The blade is often customized for the recipient, featuring delicate craftsmanship or magical enchantments that reflect the maker’s intimate knowledge of the beloved.
A blade becomes a symbol of absolute loyalty and a reminder of the maker’s presence when they are apart.

Xie Zheng likely knew all the details about forging a blade for the beloved one.
And he made not one but two! Not a superstitious one, he even did not hesitate to use his blood to 'sanctify' them.

This drama has such a well delivered romance story. Zhang Linghe and Tian Xiwei were the perfect cast and flawlessly portrayed the lead couple, they made the love story truly believable. I am so grateful to whoever cast them both. Their chemistry is superb!

I mean, is it even biologically possible? Let’s say a petite woman who knows proper combat techniques can defeat…
Martial moves allow smaller size females to defeat bigger sturdy males. A drama tends to exaggerate scenes but Changyu's way in defeating Shi Hu made more sense than other drama with female general.
In real life, Tian Xiwei can carry her male co-stars, way taller and surely heavier than her.

Some viewers thought it was not possible for Changyu to defeat Shi Hu, but for me, the writing has been quite detailed to support why she could.

Changyu was taught by her father to use the 2 short blades in order to protect herself and Chang Ning, but was told not to reveal her ability. She thought that was because she was not supposed to fight or hurt others so she asked for forgiveness from using it. She was also a strong girl, more powerful than most the men in Lin'an
The director made the fight realistic, with her, even with her abilities, was thrown back a few times by the Shi general, because he was physically larger and stronger than her.
But Shi Hu underestimated her. She was a girl and petite in his eyes which actually made it an element of surprise. He easily defeated Xie Wu because he knew Wu and would have known all his moves.
The Shi general was a seasoned fighter but Changyu used brute force, close combat that he likely was not familiar with, nor could his weapons reach her in a close range combat.
She almost totally fainted after the fight ended, because she used too much force, which Xie Zheng pointed out later then teaching her how to be a better martial artist.

PS. I really need to see Xie Zheng in the battle and a long fight scene. The way he taught Changyu using one hand was a such a view. Even short, the sparring was beautiful.

If my memory serves right, if you are already an iQIYI premium member, you do not need to pay for express package.…
It is not expensive compared to the waiting.
iQIYI's dramas are relatively 'easier' to be reuploaded by the pirate sites but Tencent/WeTV is strict about their dramas that those pirate sites usually post the express package hours later, and can be a whole day waiting.

Dumb Q about the express package thing please? Do I need to be premium vip iqiyi member prior to them dropping…
If my memory serves right, if you are already an iQIYI premium member, you do not need to pay for express package. For co-airing (WeTV and iQIYI) you might need to pay for the express and that can be done when they drop the package.

When will the express release ya? Is it around wed/thu next week?
Next Tuesday if iQIYI and WeTV are generous enough to release 7 episodes or Wednesday with 6 eps or even Thursday with 5 last episodes.

Did you check wherever you’re watching PoJ to see if that’s down too? Funny thing was I was adding some song…
What was down? On WeTV or iQIYI?
I am watching PoJ on Netflix for better subs and Netflix did not translate the lyric and fill half the screen.
