Yes, it’s exactly like “surely tomorrow” 😂. And in K-dramas and C-dramas, since they’re mostly aimed at a female audience, they often give the FL this kind of plot: she has an ex-boyfriend or dates other people, while the ML is still dreaming of meeting her again after 10 years… or even more. I even saw a K-drama where the ML stayed single for 20 years until he met the FL again lol.

It’s funny that the “never look back” line actually has some truth to it. Like you said, he never moved on, so the past is still his present, technically, he’s not looking back at anything 😅😂😂
And the FL is just a lost case.
The ML, after meeting her, turned into a complete simp don't respect himself , he was never really a win case to begin with.

Yes, I agree with you. I stopped watching this cliché plot, and I can talk about it as if I’ve watched it because they are all the same. They always give the FL other options, while the ML shuts down his feelings until he meets her again. And I know that FLs also don’t develop or change like they’re supposed to when they break up with the ML the first time, so they always need a second breakup ,or even a third until they finally understand what they want. The “solution” to their problems is always breakups.Also, MLs dating others, or the SFL that love them , is basically forbidden in these romcom K-dramas. Like that recent drama about virtual boyfriends: she had an ex, then later dated her “perfect” dream boyfriends, while the ML fell for her from the start, and that’s basically his whole role, It would have been so easy to make the plot about both of them trying virtual dating and learning together, especially since the ML also has no experience and know it's just fake solution and reality is different . But no they only give that option to the FL and SFL , while the ML and SML aren’t allowed to have the same experience.And in most romantic dramas, it’s always about the FL healing from her scumbag ex or great ex that she can't forget and when he comes back she still be friend with him while ml get jealous and helps her become better and moved on , even though he never dated anyone, or his past just isn’t important , this is more crazy in cdramas unfortunately . sorry for long paragraphe😅

Unfortunately, we are the minority, and the majority like this stupid setting about devoted MLs being “green flags” and FLs trying other options like any normal human would do over many years, But MLs are not human , they’re simps 😂😂. I can’t remember, in the past two years or more , an ML with self-respect and boundaries who respects himself enough to let go of an FL who breaks his heart multiple times, and say he needs someone who fights for him the same way he fights for her. They always just accept everything, fight the SML, and apologize to the FL because she’s “suffering” while dating others 🙂😂. And I think we’ll be waiting for nothing for a long time before we see an ML who has more important things than falling in love with the FL in romance K-dramas and C-dramas. the last kdrama I watch with a normal ml act as a man and don't tolerate fl in everything she do, in kdrama' it's okay that's love ml

Just this year, a K-drama had the same plot: the girl broke up with the male lead three times, and he kept taking her back. The stupid thing is they showed it as if she was the victim, so he was the one apologizing and crying because she “suffered,” while he was taking care of his family, so he blamed himself, lol. And she even got married and tried to have kids with the husband she says she was forced to marry… make it make sense.
