I think the slap scene did not make the ml look like a simp at all, and everyone, even the ml, understood why…
thank you, maybe you're right about now to force myself, but I don't think I be surprised by any Cdramas writers like this that makes fl perfect and ml change because he fall in love and she make him look stupid because she's too much smarter like sun tzu šŸ¤—šŸ˜…

That isn't the case for this drama. You can justify the characters according to their own situations. No one is…
I’ll watch it and show you the evidence of how their love isn’t equal — how he changed for her, but she never did. I bet it’s not like you said, but to me, the male lead loves her more than she loves him. His love is unconditional, but her unconditional love is only for her family. When it comes to him, if it's a choice between him and her family, she’ll always sacrifice him.
Maybe I’m wrong to think this drama is like most C-dramas, with the same repetitive plot. I really hope I’m wrong — because I stopped watching C-dramas since the male leads always act like simps with no dignity, chasing after female leads who have more important things to do than love them back the same way

I get that I talked without watch it is weird but trust me I read a lot about it and I was following comments here about it also because I like to read about dramas more than watch it šŸ™ƒšŸ˜…šŸ¤—
sorry for bothering you and for long comments,
have a good night

I think she accepted taking on her grandfather’s debt with a smile, so for her to act like she didn’t do anything wrong is hypocritical. What the ML did is nothing compared to what her grandfather did. And a big thing people forget is that his father, grandfather, and brother died because of her ā€œheroā€ grandfather’s betrayal! So what did she expect him to do? Welcome her with open arms and say, ā€œI appreciate you taking on your grandfather’s debt—let’s be a happy husband and wifeā€?

She gets upset at him for what he did—so what is he supposed to feel about her and her family, considering the betrayal and the deaths that resulted from it? Honestly, I still don’t understand how he even forgave them and fell in love with her šŸ˜…. If I were in his place, sorry, I would’ve taken their land and made them pay for what they did—and then let’s see if she would still fall in love with me!

But no—they made him fall for her despite everything her family did. He even broke the promise he made to his own family just because he loved her—and not just any kind of love, but an unconditional one. He didn’t even consider the possibility that she might take advantage of that love (which she did—by not trusting him after everything he did for her and by hiding secrets from him). And again, he ends up understanding her and even apologizes like he’s the one who did something wrong for feeling hurt that she didn’t trust him šŸ¤£šŸ˜….
imagine if it's ml family who betrayed her family I bet all drama he will apologizing and she act cold towards him. making him suffer and take revenge and she will not stop till nearly killed him for what his family did , and still he has to win her a and he will be also the first to fall and harder and has to fight with other smls to win her , this is Cdramas writing style always fls right and perfect and mls has to change for them šŸ˜…

I think the slap scene did not make the ml look like a simp at all, and everyone, even the ml, understood why…
If you read my comments, I said I don't like abuse scenes from either side. I commented on her slap because I read about it and watched the scene before it—when she chose him over the man she was liking and was going to marry. But I read in the comments that she slapped him after running to him, and I dislike how everyone in the comments was laughing at him getting slapped. That made me dislike the scene even more, so I don't want to watch it—and that's it.

I also asked for the timestamp, but no one has mentioned it to me yet. šŸ¤—

And him grabbing her by the neck is not okay either. From watching many C-dramas, I realized that FLs often slap MLs and MLs choke them. But you'll never see a scene where a ML slaps a FL and doesn't have to apologize—or where the FL doesn't take revenge. Yet choking the FL is treated like it's no big deal.

The difference is, MLs usually apologize many times for doing that, but you’ll almost never see a FL apologize for slapping the ML. I dislike Chinese writers for this because they can’t seem to create equality when it comes to these abusive clichĆ©s. The ML is almost never treated equally to the FL. The FL is always portrayed as perfect, and the ML has to "worship" her just because she agreed to be his woman—lol. And not just that—almost every man in the drama falls for her, not just the ML. It’s like she’s the only woman who exists in their world, while the ML always loves her like he’s never seen another woman before.

And I think you’ve watched many C-dramas too, so you know: MLs always love unconditionally, but FLs always seem to love other things more than the ML. They love the MLs with their minds, not just their hearts—unlike how MLs love.

šŸ™ƒšŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø Sorry for the long comment, it’s just a topic that really frustrates me. And it’s because of all this—and how most men characters of the dramas fall for FLs like they've never seen another woman—that I stopped watching C-dramas. I wanted to watch this one, I’ll force myself, and maybe I’ll finally see a FL who loves the ML the way he loves her—and actually puts in effort for him, not just because it benefits her to
have a good day

if you remember time she did it because I'm watching first episode and I don't want to hate fl if I watch that scene ( even if I know she did it but at least not to see it because I know I drop it even more because how he take the slap and think oh I deserve it šŸ¤£šŸ˜…šŸ¤£ who's this normal man will think like that!? and is if someone do a mistake they should slap him I bet she did many things she deserves a slap fir but why they don't include it!? or it's only mls allowed to get slapped šŸ¤£šŸ˜…šŸ¤£. than you and sorry for rants

Thank you. I didn’t mean it like that, but it just makes him look weak—not like how a general should act, especially when he believes she’s his enemy.
And for me, there’s nothing that justifies her slapping him in front of all his men after using him to escape from the other guy. She slapped him, and afterward, she reacted in a funny way just so they wouldn’t keep the atmosphere serious—but that doesn’t change what happened.
I don’t find abuse funny from either side. I’ve never seen a male lead slap the female lead, and she just stays silent, thinks she deserves it, and he doesn’t even apologize. Yet male leads are always the ones getting slapped šŸ˜…šŸ¤£šŸ˜…

Thank you again, and sorry for bothering you. I just really dislike how it’s always so easy to disrespect male leads, and they don’t even get a real apology. Instead, they’re the ones who end up apologizing for giving her a reason to slap them šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’ØšŸ™ƒ

I think that no matter what she does, she still can't make up for her grandfather's betrayal—because of it, his grandfather and father died, and he had to watch them die in front of his eyes. That's the first point.
Second, I knew he would act like that because of his anger and the promise he made to his father and grandfather.
And third, they made it this way just to show that she's smarter than him—that she won over him and made him look stupid. He even ends up owing her a favor for saving his family, so she looks like the hero.
Just like that, she wins over his people and even him.

This is such a typical female-lead-centric drama plot: always making the FL smarter and on a higher level than the ML. After a short time, he turns into a simp who loves her unconditionally šŸ˜…šŸ¤£

I'm watching it right now just to see how they turn him from the strong character he started as into a silly, love-struck man whose only purpose is to please the FL.
And I read that even when they become a couple, she still doesn't trust him—unlike him, who only distrusted her when he thought she was an enemy.

sorry for making my comments long , and thank you for the reply

someone do me a favor and tell me timestamp of fl slapping ml ! I want to skip it because I will drop it if a see how she disrespect him and he don't do anything even if she's his enemy!! I hate this cliche in Cdrama they take slap a man is not a big deal and make ml reaction to it like he's a weak simp ) even he didn't like her like that but still he didn't defend himself from a weak woman slap and don't even say anything about and he has to apologize for his mistakes after even if he did it in time they are enemies but fl never do that!!!? I hate this double standard,so I want too skip it because they include it just to humiliat ml and show who's the boss šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’ØšŸ™ƒ

Not surprised but disappointed lol This has only 10 episodes and the main couple's relationship isn't even established…
And plus, the way she treated her ex — first, she didn’t even want to breathe the same air he did, but then she’s suddenly going to Japan with him, laughing and reminiscing about their memories, treating the male lead like he’s nothing and ignoring him. And she forgives her ex like he never did anything wrong."

This male lead is officially in my top three biggest simps I’ve ever seen in a drama. He has no dignity or personality—just a simp who likes being treated like šŸ’©, begging for love, and acting childish to make a joke of himself just to make her laugh and feel special. He worships her even though she doesn’t give a damn about him and is still close to her ex. He honestly gives off the potential of being a great cuckold if she ever decides to go that route—I bet he would accept it.šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’ØšŸ˜®ā€šŸ’ØšŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

Literally Wei ShaoBorn to be a simp Forced to be a rulerFated to be both šŸ˜‚
"Finally, someone said it! The majority of comments suggest the male lead's true personality is that he's cold and he doesn't act like a simp , and that the female lead did more and showed more love. I was shocked because in C-dramas like this , it's usually impossible for the female lead to love the male lead more or act like a traditionally submissive wife, or for the male lead not to love her unconditionally. I get that in this kind of drama, the minimum expectation is for the male lead to love the female lead unconditionally, always apologize, and focus all his thoughts on making her happy and pleased. Even if it's something he didn't like, he still changes to be what she likes, LOL."

They changed it for TV censorship. In the novel there was never a one year mourning period. They were constantly…
Yes, she should take the lead and show that she wants it too. It shouldn’t always be the man who has to take the first step and ask her to do it. Men like it when the woman does her part — not when she’s the leader from the start and he acts like he doesn’t know anything!

Also, I misunderstood the scene because I didn’t watch it completely — I skipped through it since I planned to watch it properly later while watching the drama. šŸ˜…

Thanks! If it’s like you said, then it’s actually a good scene, and there’s nothing wrong with it.

Ah, thanks! I get it now. So the year is the time when they are still enemies! They use that time to get to know each other and fall in love. That’s more acceptable than making him wait while they already like each other. And there are many traditional things from that time that they don’t follow, so I wonder why they should follow just this one šŸ¤£šŸ˜…šŸ¤£ thanks

thank you, I didn't watch it it's just from reading reviews, because I like to know the spoilers before start watching a drama , because I hate love triangle and sad ending and one of mls do everything in the relationship and the other just receiving, and also hate simping and simps lol so I need to do a search before start šŸ˜…šŸ¤£ thanks

ah I think you're wrong about that no one of them in love, because I read many reviews saying ml fall first sight just didn't act on it because she's his enemy , I just read it I don't if it's true

Thank you. But did she do that because she truly loved him, or just to win him over and stop him from taking revenge?

I saw a scene of them together, but I didn’t like it—because the ML was under her, and she was the one taking the lead. It looked like she had the upper hand in the relationship, and even in the bedroom too šŸ˜…šŸ¤£. She didn’t even let him be a man or at least act like one, especially after he waited a whole year for that moment( I know majority of viewers are women so they like it because of the same reason I dislike it ) šŸ¤£šŸ˜…šŸ¤£

Thank you again, and sorry for bothering you!

Good morning, I watched second time from the beginning to end. So, I can watch what did I missed first time watch…
You watched it, so I think you might know the exact episode where the FL falls for him, says it to herself, and starts trying to show it—do you know? I read that the ML fell for her at first sight but didn’t say anything because of the circumstances. Also, in which episode do they start acting like a real married couple? I heard they didn’t have any intimacy until more than a year into their marriage—is that true?

thank you
