Very interesting drama right from the start. Humorous also. Love it.
Ok. I just checked the calendar. It's not April 1st. First people mention it in the same breath as Minglan. Now you're labelling it as 'humorous' and 'very interesting'. What the h is going on here?
It's not a dramatic examination of the soul which will have you navel-gazing the meaning of life.
It is purely wuxia candy - filled with special people and their supernatural abilities. But it is presented very well, and the finale is tied off very well, in a manner that could leave season 1 by itself as a standalone, or lead in to a season 2. Either way works.
Ok. I'm kinda feeling more than a little trepidation right now.
He gives her away to the emperor. He's the spymaster, so he knows the emperor isn't really concerned that much about issues of consent when it comes to sex. From the clips he seems to be well aware that Haishi is likely fighting the emperor to protect herself.
...yet he just sits there!?
If this is what actually goes down, no matter how much I'm enjoying watching the drama, then when it gets to that point, I think I'm going to put this one in the 'dropped' box.
If this is what goes down, I can't believe they actually marketed this as a love story.
It's one thing for the emperor to be a disgusting character. It's another thing for the man who supposedly loves her to assist in it.
Considering the trailers show her in Huku attire, I am guessing she doesn't die and it must've been a ploy. But…
I'm believing she survives. I'm guessing that Zhouying truly has to be moping around devasted, otherwise watchers might guess she escaped with him and she would be, as FJM puts it, the thing that holds Zhouying back at key moments.
If she's actually dead, then there's no hope for FJM at all. He goes in the villain basket.
Still pretty cold hearted of him even if she does survive.
Ok, just to be clear, when they're talking about Zhouying being shaved just of hair, not shaved like a eunuch ... right? Coz if it was like a eunuch I'm sure their conversation would probably be a little heavier in tone.
- Miyue?
- Sun Li?
- ZLY?
...nevermind, I looked them up.
Next question:
when you say 'her fans are so sensitive', who is the 'her' to which you are referring?
They both use corn.
;)
Minglan was a top quality drama, regardless of whether a 'water army' was sent out. There is no comparison.
Are we watching the same drama??
If they're gonna continue with this half-arsed service for non-China based viewers, then they should also be charging a half-arsed rate. Fair is fair.

Oh ... and douban sucks.

/feeling a little dirty right now.

Thank you for not spoiling me. π
Oops. Didn't mean it that way. π
But really, are you already shipping Shaozi elsewhere, Peaches?
This 'putting in some effort' thing, I don't think I'll be good at it.
