1) To the wonder - slice of life, i love it as it ventures into minorities in china, learn about different cultures (Kazakh).

2) Meet Yourself - Slice of life, this can be a bit slow and you might feel like nothing is going on but I love it bc of the uniqueness and how it just about people living, not for bingewatching imo.

3) Tender Light - imperfect but i love it, it gave me so much feels and i still feel sad when i think about this drama.

4) Mysterious Lotus Casebook - this might be a bit heavy if you are not into historical drama, but this is nit simply mystery story, it has so much plot twist and it just heartbreaking, this is my most favourite show from last year, I actually find the beginning so boring I tried 3 times because this drama is very huge in china and honestly when i get through EP6 i slowly start liking it and by the end i definitely understand why it is so loved, you might give up watching few times but i do think this worth the watch, it instantly goes to my top drama of all times.

5) The Bad Kids. This can be quite slow but it is psychological triller with unreliable narrator.

First Frost manhua at that time has very little chapter and was on hiatus till now. The reuters went viral because of Zhao Lusi, the romantic pictures and the manhua popularity because many international manhwa & manhua readers knew of HL. People in the comments were asking is this "secretly greatly but unable to hide".

The manhua has went viral few times too while FF manhua never went viral like that internationally, so to say First Frost reuters would have went viral or trending because of FF manhua popularity is funny. I assume you are not novel or manhua reader, please again, just do your research before making conclusions on some information you gathered here and there.

Don't say the numbers was due to HL drama popularity bc the comment sections can simply proved you wrong. As I said, it is especially due to cast change that if it was heavily dependent on Hidden Love success, that it would most likely only get similar numbers, but we novel fans preserve again and again telling people who know nothing about the novel, who was not here in this comment section, was never following first frost casting period, during, before and after Hidden Love. There were so much attention during cast rumours when the name was still at Zhang Linghe, Wang Churan, Song Weilong etc and this was before Hidden Love aired.

Likewise drama watcher like you is stupid to contribute most of the hype on HL, when again the source novel itself is really popular, notice how novel fans never said HL has no contribution, because it does. But unlike you that claim all hype due to HL, we simply providing other facts. First Frost novel is more accurate in term of latching you refer to, it gains attention due to HL popularity, it was released first before FF, but if the novel was not good, it will never surpass HL hype but it does. From First Frost novel hype and Sang Yan (novel & manhua) popularity, adding to Hidden Love drama hype, it all adds to the hype First Frost live action is getting.

While Youku obtained the IP to both novel, but the production responsibled for each drama are different hence different vision etc. Since First Frost is also a popular novel and manhua, they need to cast a more well known actor to gather the hype from novel fans and GP. Eventho some still complained about the final cast before the trailer, they will complained even more if Victor Ma was retained since his image is so far from Sang Yan that was described in novel except the dimples. In douyin, many people want Zhang Linghe and Zhang Yuxi because they think the actors resembled the manhua and novel character.

No those were all rumours and assumption. There were never confirmation he would play Duan Jiaxu but people see his name and start assuming. He will be playing Xiang Lang. Both Sang Zhi and DJX has very few appearance so it actually make no sense that they will be among supporting cast, hence guest role is more appropriate. The character played by supporting cast has been confirmed by passerby or fans in filming location.

And in fact, you followed Hidden Love thoroughly enough, you would know First Frost douyin team has clarified Sang Yan Hidden Love is different than Sang Yan First Frost a week before Hidden Love aired.

Maybe internationally it did receive some hype because of Hidden Love, but many of us too are a novel fan first. That is why if you were there, you will see many of fans complaining about Victor Ma casting as Sang Yan, because they are novel fans. But at least in China, the novel is very much popular too, that is why the drama became the first Youku modern drama that get 1M reservation, a feat that even HL has not achieved, of course the end result is more important and
who knows HL might did better overall, but if it were due to Hidden Love hype alone, then it would at least receive the same reservation, or less since they changed the cast, but the novel is so loved too that contribute to these hype. Especially because novel readers know how scarce the appearance of SZ &DJX in the novel hence they did not really expect for same cast for those two.

Well this is an ignorant comment especially when it seems that you have not even watch the show. Because if you did and see it yourself the performance of the actors in the show and compared to the green cast of this version, you would know yourself.

Song Weilong (ML) is indeed the weaker actor among all the cast, that is why idc much about his character but Zhang Xincheng (He Ziqiu) who will be played by Bae Hyunsung is one hell of a good actor. And Tan Songyun has always been a good actress who has so much experience in dramaland. And of course, the older cast especially the fathers all shown a great heartwrenching performance.

If only you would watch a good actual drama instead of what is popular, then maybe you will make less of this ignorant comment about a whole C-industry. In an oversaturated entertainment market like China where there were so many dramas produced and released in a month, maybe like triple of that to Korea, it is so easy to find the bad one hence you need to also be wise in your drama choice.

Maybe start by watching drama that received good rating in China instead of what is popular internationally, I recommend looking for Heat index list for Youku, Iqiyi, Tencent. If you are open to change your mindset, I recommend watching Tender Light starring Zhang Xincheng, a heavy thriller show with beautiful cinematography, The Bad Kids, The Long Season. If you are interested to watch the most explosive Chinese drama from last year, then try The Knockout, I haven't gotten to watch it yet but it is so popular and famous so it definitely worth the try. Notice how all of these barely make noise internationally? Because they are not idol drama (c-ent label) to which we consider romance show with pretty boys and girls in standard korean romance drama.

And China is famous for their historical show, if a rookie actor want to garner fame, it is more easier with historical genre, not modern genre since it received less attention. The fantasy historical genre especially is the one that receive the highest budget so if you are not into that, you will be missing out on a lot of great plots and ofc good acting.

I don't think they can top the acting and feelings (especially ost) in Go Ahead but i do wish BHS can do justice to He Ziqiu character bc i love that character so much, i know BHS can act but being able to act is different than giving justice to a role imo. I love HIY but i really don't care much about ML character (i don't even remember his name in cdrama) but i do hope that i will be able to love this character here.

The changes I mostly wish from this version is the romance. I don't think the loveline between first brother and FL is written well at all in the cdrama, I understand his feelings bc he been showing it since teens but her feeling is a bit too sudden imo. There should be gradual moment where she realised she is falling for him, tho I mostly wish the loveline does not exist at all, but I don't think that is possible, but if it did, i have huge respect for the writers for making the changes because the romance ruin the show a bit for me as I wish for them 3 to remain siblings.

He definitely could but I think he is the type that choose scripts he love, lots of his project are heartwarming/slice of life types of show and i think he definitely prefer to do what he love. Also I would not really say he lose momentum, internationally yes but he is very much still loved in korea.

I think NanNan is really famous on douyin, many of her videos can easily get like 4M-6M likes on average at least this year.

You can just google Eternal Love manhua or First Frost manhua, I believe the results will come out tho I do recommend reading the novel as well since it is more detailed and the manhua has been on hiatus for a long time because the artist is sick if i'm not mistaken.

You might be creeped out a bit but I believe the 2009 girl are playing college girl Sang Zhi because there is another girl who is playing kid Sang Zhi. Sang Yan has knew Wen Yifan since his high school, he only became friends and classmates with Duan Jiaxu in university.
