i watched 2 of his dramas (LBFAD & TRL) and i thought his acting was okay, i love his crying scene in LBFAD. i think as long as it is not awkward the acting is watchable and i dont consider it as bad?

obviously this is not good comparison but if u watch some chinese low budget drama u can tell the acting was really bad. or erm, sorry to any KYD (korean actor) fans but his acting was what i consider awkward and i dont like it.

but ofc idk about WHD line delivery since i cant understand mandarin.

aight i dont think he is problematic and idt artist should be blamed for fans action. the thing about him and xiao zhan is i want them both bc many also want them so they kind of infuse my brain with that image.

i think the opposite actually. he look so mature to me and they match each other look (in term of age) that i see them as romantic partner. when i recommend the long ballad to my friend, she was surprised to know he is our age because he look so mature. i feel like for people who don't follow leo career from young and not aware of his age, wouldnt view them having this huge gap.

song weilong might fit the look somehow (although not really because he gaves gentle vibes) but i personally think his acting is lacking so i am glad Bai Jingting is my sang yan. BJT is attractive enough to me (SWL too) and he is a really good actor

no offence but he is short, sang yan is tall nearing 190cm

i dont remember reba always pairing with younger guy and i dont think she herself would love that (read in interview) but i really dislike those who do not want these collaboration just because he is younger.

personally i'm fine with everything, older or younger man to be paired with her, there's a beauty in every story i just wish the script is good, the age doesnt matter. sure she is older than didi, but it is not like it was a huge age gap, he also doesnt look like a young boy, and has a mature look to him so i dont get this feeling of not wanting her to work with younger guy.

bai jingting is such a good actor that i dont mind him being sang yan despite he doesnt really fit sangyan description. like i just trust he can deliver the role so well and makes me so whipped for both irl and novel sang yan

I dont get the rage either but I personally not liking that it was remake very early at that time. The announcement was made in 2021, the drama finish airing in 2020, it felt very fresh and still very much underrated so knowing that just make me felt frustrated for the masterpiece. But I get over it over the years and get excited for the remake as well so while I understand the rage of OG fans who wish the original to be appreciated, I also don't agree that it should be hated till today. I am mostly excited because the original cast is excited as well. But some criticism about the show is very much fair imo as it is a remake so comparison is inevitable, as long as it was a fair criticism and not a blind hatred.

I think you misread their comment bc they definitely think KR version is better but if you must know this is why og fans are mad about the remake being this early, as Korea is a bigger industry than Taiwan, they have big budget and is put on netflix and the OG one deserve more appreciation bc while it is a hit in China, Taiwan and Korea it still very much underrated internationally.

The og drama is hard to find legally and has lower budget but despite that, they are able to make a very beautiful drama, amazing plot, cinematography and impactful ost that are very much popular in CN and KR as well that it got KR adaptation and will have a Chinese remake as well.

You all think the cinematography looks cheap but some viewers very much prefer the cinematography in TW version as it gaves more nostalgic vibes and fit the setting, take the rain scene for example, despite the colouring, it is definitely more beautiful and impactful than the way it was potrayed in KR version. Anyway, I havent finish watching this but I enjoy the adaptation. I'm merely saying my piece that just because it look cheap (to you) doesn't mean it wasn't better.

The longest promise is 900K+ too if im not mistaken. Lyf had more advantage to gain more as we got season 2 in the future

Might be minority in this one, but although I shed some tears here and there, this drama do not left me heartbroken and frustrated. Frankly, I enjoy every sad scenes and I am glad this is a drama where I cry but also doesn't left me heartbroken. To add, I don't think a single character stole the spotlight, but of course this is purely my opinion. I think every main character shines and there are always boring/slow scenes for each ml except xiaoyao because she is always with one of them. I have my favourite character and even I had moments where I get bored watching his scenes. Nonetheless, this is a great story and I enjoy it till the end. Sad to hear the second season seems so far away.

well bc it's clear you are xiang liu fan at that time with having him as your pfp. the criticism about cang xuan is fine because he is clearly very flawed but the remarks about him being 'a man' is just so funny to me because i don't see this remarks towards xl from people who has him as their favourites - you.

it is not like people should do that but this selective anger and biasness are just ridiculous, when he does wrong things you all criticise him fondly and but when others do, you all reprimand them harshly.

yes i still love xiang liu very much i just wish people are less biased towards characters that are not their favourite.

he was about to just let her go and not even ask her to do anything before she comes back asking about jing. he was just conveying the message from jing. also, xiaoyao wants to meet jing too, she is too ego to admit to herself and people are ignoring that. she needs to give herself an excuse to meet jing. yall are ignoring the fact that cx let xiaoyao live her own life interacting with basically everyone and not stopping her doing things she want. true he ask her but after she ask him too, she do it willingly out of love for cx and jing

anyway to you would 'a man' put the person they love in danger multiples times out of jelousy? i love xiang liu and i know he is a demon so he cant help it but it is a bit ridiculous here how you slamming cx not being a man when his request doesnt even harm xiaoyao and she was not even forced to do it. all he did was just ask and she willingly comply

when i think about it, xiao yao x xuan x jing all kind of use each other in some way but only xuan's keep being pointed out because his was obvious and he is definitely the more toxic character than others 🤣

xuan - use xiaoyao for his throne (i do see him not using her if she ever express her displeased about it because i dont see him ever forcing or limiting her from anything eventho it's not something to his liking - idk about future him tho just talking about current xuan)

xiaoyao - alright people might not fully agree on this. cang xuan is everything to her but at the same time she likes jing although i wouldnt say she fully give him her heart but she likes him (she likes xiang liu too) so while she do meet jing for cx, but at the same time she is also doing it for herself imo, bc she want to meet jing but too ego to admit so she seek for excuse from herself that she is purely doing it for xuan.

jing - if only xuan knows what he did for him he would probably never ever kill him? 🤔 idk if using is the right word but him aiding cang xuan is purely because he is xiaoyao brother. while doing so, xiao yao can be safe and he can also had reasons to meet with them sometimes and get closer to xiaoyao. xuan doesnt know this but xiaoyao knew that he help her brother

that's probably why i dont really feel angry or bad that xuan using xiaoyao so far because he publicly admitted it, xiaoyao knew about it and doesnt mind being used (this probably comes from their deep trust with each other) and there were no harm really comes on her way from being used iirc?

or maybe because they are intrigued by their story and wish after all that happen they will end up together. he is not a great character but people can have preference. it is the same if people want to drop because they want her to end up with xiang liu despite him being good. it is a bit silly but let people do what they want to save their heartbreak. even some novel reader are team xuan despite how he is. to add, what you said are all in the future it is yet to happen, it is not weird why some still wish them together

he was not in the right but he was not acting like a bully. they mess with one thing he care about and could not forgive. besides, when else has he ever been such a prick to people with little power?
