I really recommend reading the novel since we would not know how the drama will turn out yet or if it was similar since they already made some changes (second couple addition), I can only wish it would be good. The novel really leave lasting impression to me so I just wanna recommend it more people and hope they love it as much as I do 😂

First Frost definitely has better story for me, I enjoy Hidden Love but at the same time it is forgettable? It does not help that Duan Jiaxu in the novel creep me out a bit 😅 But HL is just a light story and I think they are cute, San Yan & Sang Zhi banters are hilarious but i'm not attached at all, they don't keep me thinking at nights or lingered in my mind.

As for First Frost, the novel got my heart racing since the the first chapter, second chance romance trope being my most favourite genre could be one of the reason, but I just love their first meeting again and Sang Yan intrigued me. I find him funny but not in funny as he was in HL, since his real self is aloof and unbothered but because he is so unbothered that he is funny, he just made me speechless with his attitude and Wen Yifan being as unbothered as him make them the perfect pair, they are both weird but in lovely way. I was obsessed with them for months and Sang Yan is like one of my most fav ML novel character, he is not really special than typical novel character but something about him stand out, simply put i was obsessed.

I love my romance story with some longing and HL doesn't give me that feeling eventho SZ had a crush on DJX, but the longing from Sang Yan for Yifan hurt me. Also, they have more backstory which just intrigued most readers more imo, one would be curious to know about their history, what caused them to part ways, what happened in the past etc so it just more engaging for many readers.

It's happy ending for our main couple, 3 important supporting characters died. My heart hurt for the first two, cried a lot for the second one, and I just pity the third character.

Finished reading the book and I love it 😭 Why does it get sad at the end?? Cried so bad for one character, I hope the drama doesn't change it either, I wanna cry again. But now that I finished the novel, I really wish we get good writing, the author deserve to get their work adapted beautifully.

Please note that I also barely know these cultures so I might be wrong about them being one of the influence so it could be influenced from other cultures or it truly han chinese cultures that I never knew.

You love Victor Ma potrayal as Sang Yan, we respect that but saying he owned the character when you have not read the novel is ridiculous, no First Frost fans would think his facial expression and attitude are giving Sang Yan, I can see it from the trailer alone (when HL was not aired yet) and it solidify my opinion when HL has aired because again, his potrayal is simply far from Sang Yan.

I really hope so tencent itself cant be stupid and if it was, then that scene probably not pass to be screened either right.

I have been reading the novel since yesterday and it's really good so far, some moments made me scream if it's included in the script and adapted well, it will probably made me squeal again.

How did Ren Min character knows he is Li Bing when she brough imperial verdict? Is this something that will be revealed later or someone (Qiu Qingzhi told her) but I doubt QQZ is blowing his cover to others that soon.

Im worried, I'm really worried but I hope I'm worried for nothing. It sucks tho because I really love this pairing, it reminds me of Reba x Wulei, not only because both are younger but also both Wulei and Arthur has worked and met in passing with Reba before the drama, be it ads, variety show, or award show or fashion show, and I think these kind of coincidence cute for any actors when they get paired later.

I can only wish for this to at least be enjoyable, even if the drama end up focusing on ML character more, I hope FL character is still written amazingly and not just an accessories or something. Eg I love parallel world and while Bai Yu character is kind of the start of everything, I do find his character hold not much importance later despite being ML, his only importance in later EP is as FL lover and it doesnt help that im not feeling the romance there, so I dont want Reba character to be like that, her character should still be written amazingly and not only serves for ML lover only.

And then we got Huang Junjie being 2nd ML, could it seriously get any worse? I don't think boycotting works like Cheng Yi fandom did because C-Alice is still boycotting this drama due to all those previous mess and nothing changed. All these hate towards jing jing is so ugly, sure people can have issue with her not coming up with something new although i'm certain she is there for comedic relief, some people prefer that some don't. She is known for her exaggerated comedies and it can be funny or gets annoying if it done too much, I get it.

But scolding her for acting like old woman and comparing to Reba being girly despite them being same age, yeah that is misogyny. What is wrong if she acts like an old woman? Newsflash: not all girls have to be girly, they can be everything and you all should stop having issue with that.

As for clinging to the boys, again it was for comedy, she is known for that. The boys knew too, and she is pregnant that also could be one of the reason. Seriously please go do some meditation or something, your heart need a cleanse. With her around, Reba is also more carefree, not saying she wasn't before, but when she made some joke to Reba, Reba would also responsed in the same manner, it's funny and I love to see Reba comedic side.

Based from what I heard, it was different from how she was depicted in novel, styling wise? she supposed to be more fashionable and some see her outfit in LOTTL as an old style, which probably true ig but it is also in the trend.
