Ohh, so that’s why they put his name at the end of the search results, so it will be hard to see him.

So, they started dating when she was 15. Meaning, he started courting or grooming her before that since her aunt said she didn’t like him at first. There’s a photo of them with his right arm around her shoulder and they’re both flashing peace signs. She looks like she was12 in that photo. Might his interest in her have started then? Eww! If so, might that be the reason he kept their relationship hidden, because he knew it was a crime? I wish the truth will be made known eventually, but he hired a top lawyer, meaning they can twist the truth and Saeron’s family around their filthy money.

There's something terribly wrong with him. Aside from pedophilia and his need to control Saeron thus refusing Won Bin's offer to help pay her debt, he and his agency sponsored hate trains against his co-stars in It's Ok To Not Be Ok and Queen of Tears. I won't be surprised if he sponsors/encourages hate trains against other kdrama actors too.

I seriously wonder if that had a lot to do with how long this was sitting in post-production. Some people mentioned…
i think the difficulty was in doing something not done before. Maybe it was having to shoot in a space station or maybe simulating a space station.

Loved it, such a great show! However it needs a second season, if they dont make it it wont make any sense and…
The author recently met with Dylan to get his inputs for the second season. So, it’s in the works, not just officially announced.

Sang Sang loved him romantically though, so I doubt they’d be as close had he not reciprocated the feeling

That time, there was still a lot of interest in LBFD. LBFD is an S+ budget drama. UL is an A-budget drama. Possible…
When UL aired, Dylan was very hot. It was one of the reasons the drama got heavily censored. Though it’s low budget, his presence turned the drama into a “key project” attracting much attention from the censorship committee. Thus, the drama could have achieved a really high heat index. I don’t know if we’d ever find out how high it went. It really sucks that drama platforms manipulate views and indexes. It makes a joke of popularity and viewership charts.

I like having Ning Que and Sang Sang together. When the world was against them, it was good that they have each other to depend on.

Great point! LBFD team was really proud to achieve a 10k+ heat index that was 2nd highest (at the time) in iQiyi's history. Having a low-budget drama like UL achieving the same level of success would have undermined LBFD's glory. I'm curious now whether UL's real heat index was higher than LBFD's.

Oh yeah, I remember the hate comments directed at CYQ which I couldn't understand as I found her acting really good. She was able to effectively portray a tricky role of a naughty but intelligent princess who is pretending to be silly. Not only her acting but her big eyes got attacked as well, something that struck me as sour grapes since I thought Chinese people generally like big eyes. Then, after ep 20, not only CYQ but the whole drama started getting bad review and the viewership subsequently went down. Now that you mentioned it, it seems like a smear campaign to ensure UL did not exceed LBFD's success. Though I love LBFD, I really wish C-Ent doesn't play dirty games against any actor or drama. It's just making the whole industry so corrupt and not worthy to be taken seriously.

Oh yes, some haters even rate episodes that have not aired yet. This happens in Douban too, which is why I agree with comments here about not believing online scores, including mdl scores. Seems like the more WHD succeeds, the more haters hate him. It’s obviously caused by envy.

I am enjoying this drama but i have one minor complain that is not enough focus on all the women who are suffering…
That's my understanding as well. UL shows us the sad plight of these tribute ladies to provide context but does not intend to explicitly present a solution for them in the drama. The solution is implicit in the message the drama imparts which is about the chains that a monarchical form of government entails. That is, no kings/queens, no inhumane class of women called tribute ladies.

It's known that UL got 9k+ iQiyi heat index, meaning it's a hit drama. But I just found out that it actually exceeded the magic 10k heat index, meaning it's not just a hit drama, it's a major hit! But for some reason, iQiyi manually lowered the view count and index.

This reminds me of Guardians of the Dafeng, another Dylan Wang drama, which I just read actually exceeded the magic 30k Tencent heat index on its first airing day, instead of several days later, but Tencent lowered it.

C-Ent really sucks! Why do they play these dirty games? This is why I now take cdrama charts like Datawin, Maoyan, VLinkage and Yunhe with a grain of salt. I have yet to hear complaints about Kuyun viewership data.

I read the ads alone made 1 billion rmb. Actually, it would be easy to compute if we know how much each second of ad costs bcz the drama pulled in 4311 seconds of ads. Gawd, these haters will say anything. How can Xinli lose money from GOTD when it finished shooting in 2023 thus it didn't incur much expenses in 2024 and as you've said, incurred minimal, if any, marketing expenses. In fact, they made money in the 4 days it aired in 2024, not just due to the ads but bcz, weren't the episodes on VIP from, I think, the 3rd episode onwards, unlike other dramas where the first 5 or 6 episodes are free? And there's the cloud seats too, I understand the numbers also made history. Regardless of whether the cloud seats were used or not due to the server crash, they were paid for.

Actually, I was just so mesmerized by the story, especially S2 - Ning Que's rapid advancement in cultivation, Sang Sang's identity, their fates and struggles to stop Ever Night with the help of their Idiosyncratic and talented mentors and friends - their chemistry was the least of my worries. Their close bond was palpable and that was enough for me.

No wonder he was treated like a prince at the awards ceremony, seated between Tencent, Xinli and Yuewen CEO's and he delivered the opening remarks for the ceremony. Regarding GOTD marketing, Didi's fandom really pulled through probably the worst black marketing in C-Ent ever. And Tencent seemed like it was joining the sabotage, when the Tencent server lost thousands of cloud seats donated by international fans, causing the drama not to meet the 30k heat on the first day. Though I heard it did meet the 30k that first day despite the lost cloud seats but got sabotaged further. It was such a stressful time. It was a huge relief when the 30k heat was finally reached. So glad everything went well in the end. Didi's fandom is really amazing. It deserves S2. And I agree, S2 could be more successful, now that people know how good S1 is.

Probably, since JOL2 aired earlier and had higher viewership stats. However, GOTD made more money from ads, the highest in history, so it might be taken into consideration.
