They are trying to create hype for it & looking at all the reactions recently, i think we are getting S2 but maybe…
Yep, it seems they're still at the writing phase and Didi is off to start shooting another drama on 3/18. It's supposed to take 5 months or so, thus will end maybe August. I hope they'll shoot GOTD S2 right after he takes a rest from the other drama.
The GOTD production team is playing with our hearts and nerves regarding Season 2. The writer was interviewed during the Yuewen Global IP Awards event and here's what he said about S2:
Question: What's the one mission you're aiming to accomplish at this grand event? Answer: To meet Wang Hedi and chat with him about what could be improved for the SECOND SEASON of the drama series.
I remember watching season 1 five years ago but never got around to continuing with season 2. Given the casting…
Definitely. Season 1 does not even deal with the Ever Night problem. S2 does that. Wang Hedi is very good, especially in action scenes. Very good action scenes too. I couldn't believe he did them himself.
Heard that Evernight 2 is not as good as 1, is that true?
I actually like S2 better as the Ever Night problem is handled there. S1 is more about Ning Que's personal revenge. In S2, Ning Que is in a position to save the world from Ever Night.
Does one have to watch the season 2 of this series or does the first season have a conclusive enough ending without…
Season 1 doesn't even cover the reason why the series is called Ever Night. Season 1 deals more with Ninq Que's revenge. Season 2 is where the problem of Ever Night is actually tackled. I got obsessed with this series after watching S2 because of its universal theme, that is, ML is more concerned about saving the world from Ever Night than just personal revenge. After watching S2, I read the novel as I couldn't wait for S3.
I've been reading the comments and was bemused at some comments that said one does not have to watch season 2 after this. Season 1 doesn't even cover the reason why the series is called Ever Night. S1 deals more with Ninq Que's revenge. S2 is where the Ever Night problem is actually tackled. I got obsessed with this series after watching S2 because of its universal theme, that is, ML is more concerned about saving the world from Ever Night than just personal revenge as in S1. S2 fascinated me so much, I read the novel, my first web novel, as I couldn't wait for S3.
About the Ning Que/Sang Sang relationship being too lopsided in his favor, S2 will stupefy you with the truth, specially S3, if it ever gets made lol
I like this drama a lot, but there is this annoying princess...lord give me strength... making me want to drop…
Same as me, at first. But I warmed up to her. She proves herself worthy of him. They're cute together. They have the same silly veneer but are actually deep.
Please ignore my previous comment. I need to edit it but the app is not letting me. Here is the edited version: That’s also my suspicion. The bad ratings are manufactured by his anti-fans, most probably fans of a competitor who is very popular in this site. They tried to do the same for The King Eternal Monarch but LMH fans blocked their attempt. I think many LMH fans, like me, have moved away from kdramas, probably sick of the toxic environment so only a few are left here. I didn’t know this was already airing until a couple of weeks ago.

We don’t care about Douban rating and other malicious rant. We have acces to Western movies/ Tv series, Cdramas,…
In fact, considering the smear campaign that was lobbied at it, it did very well, so well it is considered an “industry phenomenon and a grassroots hit” by a Weibo post. And I just remembered, its opening score on Weibo was 8.9. Almost a month after its finale aired, it is still on Yunhe and Kuyun charts, outlasting dramas that started after it did, and better than some recently shown dramas. It has garnered 44 million+ views per episode on Yunhe and 56 million views per episode on Kuyun, both excellent scores.

What a liar! It has a rating of 9.2 on Tencent from 3 million+ reviewers who are only allowed to give a rating after a certain amount of time of viewing unlike Douban where people who did not watch can give scores. See how questionable Douban scores are? GOTD also has a score of 9.5 on Viki.
Anyways, I’m currently stuck in episode 35 on Tencent Video. I purchased a quarterly VIP subscription on 12/28/2024.…
yeah, by the time Tencent honors my VIP subscription, if it would ever, Viki might already have shown episode 40 😤 If a lot of viewers on Tencent have encountered this problem, the viewership of GOTD would be adversely impacted.

I hope they'd officially announce S2 soon.
