Hmm, I think I’m going to drop it. I’m currently on episode 18 and honestly it’s getting complicated, but…
She gets a lot better after the time skip. She’s a lot less stiff after she gets “older”.
While I think she could’ve played the younger version better, I still enjoyed her acting. I think it’s a tough balance to play an inexperienced 20 year old (she’s even younger in the novel, which the script and the plot basically mirrors) while bringing out chemistry as well, so that’s why I thought she did a pretty good job
But if you don’t wanna wait until the time skip around ep 19/20, that’s also in your rights

I’m so glad we both hate that hat 😭 tbh I hate Ming dynasty outfits the most but I ESPECIALLY hate his styling. It was so much better in blossoms of power

Yeah I’m typically fine with slow burns and whatnot (in fact I prefer it). I think what’s throwing me off is the comedic element (it was funny to me at first but now a bit repetitive) — if ppl are trying to kill them left and right, I would prefer a darker tone + more “tension” / distrust between the leads. But to each their own! The show is clearly doing well, and others in the comments love it, so I’m clearly the minority
No hate but I’m getting tired of all these “skits”, including the ML pretending to have just transmigrated in front of the FL
I’m also not sensing a lot of chemistry between them so far. It feels more like friendship / good coworker relationship as they try to survive court politics.
The pacing also feels slower after ep 6. I prefer relationships with more tension and angst, so maybe the show isn’t for me. I see why other people like it, but yeah, it’s starting to feel draggy to me 🥲
