Hi! We understand there's a lot of confused about the ending so I'll try to explain hopefully I'd make sense, my English isn't the best.

The series only covered Book 1 which is about Khun Yai so the loose ends are more than "who is the Yai in 2023", there's more about Yai that needs to be resolved.
The Yai we met in 2023 is Yai Kanthorn, he is the adopted son of the daughter of Khun Lek named Uaem Duaen, tho it's said adopted, he is a direct descendant of Khun Lek because he is the son of Lek's eldest daughter before he was adopted by the youngest daughter. Uaem Duaen searched for Jom as a promise she made with Khun Yai. Uaem Duaen is Khun Yai's favorite niece so he gave all of his wealth to her & in exchange that she'll keep the house that Jom was renovating & find Jom for him. That's the reason why Jom was chosen to renovate the house. In short, Kanthorn is a reincarnation who has the memory of Khun Yai & Commander Yai (CY is from Book 2). Kanthorn only have the memory as Jom & Commander Yai promised to never forget each other again.

Honestly that is one of the main problems of anyone living in the US with Youku. It's either you can't buy it or it will say it's not available although you are in the right region. The actors said they wanted S2 but the production team still have a lot of project in their hands & have no plans. Besides, it will cost a lot to produce S2 cause it's really difficult.

You are right. They skipped it for now. I hope you've seen the credit, they did showed Commander Yai. So for now, the timeline in the series doesn't match the novel. It should've been Khun Yai-Commander Yai- Yai Kanthorn in order for the problems that were not resolved in Khun Yai's era to be resolved.

I saw your previous post haha! I was gonna reply to that but.. Whom we met is Yai Kanthorn, the 3rd reincarnation of Yai. The reason he took so long to find Jom is because his memories only returned to him after Jom ended his time travel. Jom was supposed to meet Commander Yai first before returning home as Jom & Commander Yai promised to each other that they'll never forget each other again.

I think my explanation is not that good but let us know if you have further questions.

There was something wrong with the timeline, it should've been Khun Yai-Commander Yai-Yai Kanthorn, however the series showed us the conclusion (final ending). The credits was there just in case they'll make S2.
But yes, Khun Yai's ending is a sad ending.
The 2023 Yai should show up last. He has all the memories of Khun Yai & Commander Yai. He might be a reincarnation but he has the same heart & soul which makes it a happy ending.

The novel have 3 endings but the series only have two (unless we get S2), however the conclusion is it's a happy ending 😆

We should find out in S2. But the context is he was reincarnated and had memories of Khun Yai and Commander Yai which was why he recognized Jom immediately in the first meet.
