Title My Stand-In
I don't understand one thing: why is Ming always so possessive about his stand-in? I mean, when he loved Tong,…
He is just a possesive obsessive entitled snob. He thinks the world and everybody in it owes him something and that he has a right to command them.

Not that im one to talk, but why does literally EVERYBODY like joe๐Ÿคฃ Tharn felt s but uneccesary to me, but…
Joe is just that sweet and gorgeous ๐Ÿ˜. And about Thran, he isn't attracted to this Joe but the guy whose body Joe is in. Joe 2 was a grown adult, no surprises that he have exes. Also Tong seems to hate Joe in every way or form ๐Ÿคฃ

Ok, there is literally no way im believing that sol is suspicious of the new joe for breaking into old joes house…
That back is a special back we should all know by now ๐Ÿ˜‡

But seriously I'm impressed with Sol's intelligence this episode, this makes his character a bit less boring.

When I first heard abt tharn I thought he was gonna be a sweet guy .Maybe some romantic plot to make Ming jealous…
He's kind of a small fry tho. I laughed at the way he got kicked out of the room by Joe ๐Ÿ˜‚

Title My Stand-In
I wanted Ming's heart to wretch out of his body in hurt knowing that it was Joe all along and voila I loved what happened.

I also liked that he was feeling bad about treating Joe.2 disrespectfully which seems like a ridiculous statement given that he basically molested him, but he's been so awful lately that I can only be grateful for small mercies (like last episode he was like a vile callous villian while sealing the deal with Jo.2 but here he seemed to realise that the other person is a human with feelings too)

I just realized that phuwin was only 19 here ๐Ÿ˜ญtheir acting as improved smmmm in we are
He was actually 18. It was a tall task to give justice to such a tough role for someone so young and a rookie. But he tried his best and partly delivered well. Perth was hands down the best actor though.

Title My Stand-In Spoiler
Ikr Iโ€™ve been reading it since the weekend. But honestly the book hits differently, like joe being 30 and ming…
Ive only read two of this authors other series, one of which has a good 12 years of age gap, with the younger one being the toxic shit like Ming. I feel like the author makes these guys younger so they could be as worse as they can be doing whatever crime and then be easily forgiven in the name of youthful mistakes.

Like in Beloved Enemy the older one consistently was forgiving and lenient on the very dangerous younger guy, and in StandIn Joe once expressed that he takes all the verbal abuse from Ming because in his mind he's still not fully grownup and hence prone to being a brat that he was.

Also while there were story reasons for the age gap in Beloved Enemy, there is none for it to be that big in StandIn other than to blatently excuse Ming even though he is an adult still. I'm just glad it seems to have been adapted to be more even in the series.

Ming is not the most red flag of her ml . Itโ€™s that ml from Sissy
It's the brat from Beloved Enemy for me.

Though Sissy's has been awful too and if it weren't for the poor MC there truly loving the red flag making their situation not 100% forced (more like 90%) there would have been no consolation.

Same goes for Joe tbh, the only saving grace of Ming is that he still makes Joe's heart flutter or he would have been the villian rather than the ML. So even his saving grace is Joe's weak heart rather than any quality of his own.

But I don't think Beloved enemy even gave us that.

Ikr Iโ€™ve been reading it since the weekend. But honestly the book hits differently, like joe being 30 and ming…
Books do have a slightly different vibe because Ming is younger and therefore has more of a chance to straighten himself up. But he is also a lot more awful there as he didn't just keep Joe prisoner but also raped him during that time. And idk how he'll treat him in the series as a standin again from here on, but I can only hope it's not like in the book where he was extremely insulting practically shoving his face in the cushion saying to not let him see his face whilst they were carrying out their deal.

Books are also different because I think Poom somehow really made Joe's character much more lively and adorable. I am so impressed by his portrayal and of course his gorgeous expressive face.

Title My Stand-In
this show is my official introduction to the 188 group novel series lol i used to avoid it due to the tags but…
Of the 188 series, my first had been Sissy and I can see similar toxic traits in both the Tops. Even the MCs attraction to them despite them knowing how hazardous they are is the same Let's hope Ming redeems and show himself worthy of Joe soon because the guy in Sissy didn't really do it until long after the end in th extra chapters years after. I'm just glad I read it once it had all the chapters available for binge.

Also I heard but yet to confirm that Stand-in is written by Beloved Enemy's author (which has a Chinese series) and if true Ming is a saint compared to the toxic fellow there or rather full fledged criminal he was who belongs in jail. Irredeemable from start to finish he was as far as I'm concerned.

Bro doing all that to save a mom that is not even his real mom, geez ๐Ÿ™„ i wouldnโ€™t do that to save someone…
It's really hard to ignore the misery of this women who has no one left and thinks that Joe is her son. There's guilt for taking over her son's body and there's owing for that body too + she has now become Joe's own people given that he didn't have a family before . l would have done the same as Joe.

I guess in a way his heart still want to be close to Ming... I might be wrong but when you really hate someone…
Joe is such a sweetheart that taking revenge didn't even occur to him. All he's doing is trying to make a life again whilst taking when happened as more of an accident rather than blaming others. If he wasn't such a big hearted forgiving person, he would have been far more bitter now (esp when he saw that all his tormentors are doing great whereas his dead body is roting somewhere without even a proper buriel) and it would definately be a revenge story. As it stands he is just sad not vindictive.

I guess in a way his heart still want to be close to Ming... I might be wrong but when you really hate someone…
We can say that Sol and Wut didn't offer him that big a sum and it was a handout and he didn't want to trouble them yada yada, but yes the truth is that a part of the reason he accepted Ming's offer is because he still wants him, without realising and unintentionally.

And Joe simply isn't the smartest person in the room. If he wasn't that human he wouldn't have fallen into Ming's trap to begin with in the past. Like I can't forget he said to Sol that Ming takes him for who he is, I was laughing while feeling so so sorry for him.

Also I feel like he somewhat gave up to the idea that he is fated to be a standin all his life and try as he might life is bent on dragging him down. I'm basing this on the flashback where he said it's his fault in not realising he's a stand in, and his thoughts while falling from cliff that whenever he tries to dig himself up life pushes him back down again. And among the entire whirlwind, however good a person he is Joe.2 body (which is now his own) purity doesn't stand at the top.

That all I think makes the forgivable factor of his actions subjective.

I don't know, kind of? It's not like he is doing this for himself but Joe.2s mom and it's not like he can completely avoid using this body given that he is stuck in it probably for life and I doubt that he thinks that Joe 2 wouldn't have done any and everything to save his mom. Tbh Im just glad he remembered Joe.2 enough to even apologize to him, I wasn't even expecting that.

Tong didn't even do anything this episode, it's only Ming this time who deserve this slap.
