eh, you got me slightly in reverse - i fall into a stupor when i see "typical xianxia" being mentioned anywhere. this term makes no sense to me at all. how do you define or measure it? is there like a sliding scale/checklist of features. anyway, im not ready for it at the moment :D

it's a skill, so it can be learned. how's that saying goes "genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration"? 🙂 if you feel like it's something you need in your life there are definitely courses to help you along. but since when absence of skills was a detriment to writing 😆

Well nothing stops you from practicing. Being native speaker doesn't qualify one to be a good writer. A lot of reviews and synopsis I see were probably not written by native speakers either.

Sometimes when I see my posts, read what I wrote and just cringe. Good summary or review needs some skill and talent. I have no talent for writing so I'll be bitching in the background too 😆

Well the previous synopsis was a bit of a disaster too - very misleading.
But yeah this one gives way too much given that in early episodes FL is trying to figure who he is. I honestly never tried to edit those things - prose is not my forte, so I hope your edit will at least get some attention.

Marketing? Well not everyone likes to have pen and paper ready to keep track of the plot. Story is simple, execution is brilliant. There are 100s of interpretations of say Romeo and Juliet and only 1 or 2 where one wouldn't want to strangle them both.

I looked at when I first joined.
Rating is very very strange. Particularly on episodes like none gave 10? I did.
So it's probably some weighted mean value. But still it doesn't make sense to show the chart of votes without displaying significance of some sort.

Anyway I came to conclusion that it's safe to ignore whatever ranking it displays.

I understand that weird trend you refer to.But I don't think it applies to SL here.

She was brought up predominantly in a male environment and reached leadership position. So essentially her whole behaviour is masculine and she's one of the boys so to speak.If she was portrayed too feminine would feel wrong.

A lot of the charm for me is her discovering her feminine side with the help of XZ.Like XZ is slowly becoming human too and doesn't care about her accolades etc.,

So whatever front she puts up he never grovels or is overawed by her abilities and that's kind if rare alright.

You should start hating him now anyway. But yes he does.

Well they are courting from start to finish. They also get married in the end. Misunderstandings are very short lived and with minimal impact. Annoying SML yes, there's also an SFL but she isn't annoying and in fairness doesn't "second" much except for final episodes.

There's not much of a hidden identity I think it's around half way mark that our man figures out she is the generals daughter. FL finds out who he is a bit earlier.

Sorry I binge they all feel like one big movie instead of separate episodes. Local resident expert must be on holidays so I thought I'd step in 😆

I loved it. There are some bits which don't fit comedy aspect. But very lighthearted and easy watch for most of it. As far as drama part - a bit of teen angst; but nothing to bite your nails about. It's very colourful and visually done very well.
